*Tay*
The past week has been nothing but awesome.
Me and Alex were back to normal, but even better- in a way. If anything, we'd gotten closer. It wasn't awkward at all that he confessed his feelings for me- it was as if we both just forgot all about it. He wasn't trying to get me to date him anymore..well he still wants to, but he never mentions it. He doesn't obsess over me or anything. Sure, we might innocently flirt from time to time, but we've actually formed a quite friendly relationship. He was respectful of my "no relationship" rule, so he's okay with me.
But sometimes he still does cute stuff that I'm definitely okay with. Like earlier today in algebra, he kept passing me cute little notes. Like these:
Hey, Tay. You look really nice today.
Your hair looks absolutely lovely.
Could you do me a favor and smile a little bit? :)
It was just so goddamn cute.
Other than that, he sends me sweet Good Morning and Good Night texts which leave me both waking up and falling asleep with a huge smile on my face.
Oh, and he also still escorts me to my classes, except now he gives me little warm hugs every time before I go into a class, and when I come out of one.
I honestly didn't care if people thought we were dating or not. That sure is what Hayley seems to think. I remember her beaming about it earlier today in homeroom.
"Okay, now absolutely CAN'T tell me that you and Gaskarth aren't dating!!"
"And why can't I, Hayley?" I rolled my eyes and smirked.
"Be-CAUUSSSE!! You two have been spotted being really close and hugging and walking together and flirting and-"
"Whoa whoa whoa, we've been "spotted"? What are you, the paparazzi?" I joked.
"I have my connections, Jardine!! And they'll be watching you two veerrry closely."
I laughed at her. "Okay, now you're just freakin' me out!"

*Alex*
After school, I went to Jack's place.
I lay on my back on the bed, tossing a basketball in the air and catching it.
Jack lay at the head of the bed, across the pillows, playing some game on his phone.
"Dude, she's..she's amazing." I spoke, throwing the ball back into the air.
"Who?" Jack mumbled, his focus on his game.
"Tay, goddammit! Tay! She's so fucking cute."
"Uhuh.." Jack absentmindedly agreed with me. I just continued.
"She's like, the best! She's hot, she's funny, she's smart, she sings like an angel-"
"But does she fuck like a goddess?" Jack joked. I threw the ball at him, causing his phone to drop out of his hands.
"DUDE! I WAS LIKE SO CLOSE TO BEATING MY HIGH SCORE!" he groaned angrily.
"I'm being serious, Jack. She's-"
"If you say she's "The One" I will reach over there, slap you in the face, then kick you out of my house."
I sat up and looked at him, puzzled.
"Why the fuck not?"
"Dude, you BARELY know her. You've been with so many chicks, what makes her so special? She's made you feel like shit when you first caught feelings for her. She doesn't even want a fucking boyfriend! I just think you'd be wasting your time and feelings, chasing a girl who doesn't wanna be caught."
"No, she's different, Jack. You don't get it, of course you wouldn't get it. You only want sex. That's all you've ever fucking gotten from a girl! What do you know?!? You don't know what it feels like to feel fuzzy and warm inside when you look at a girl. When you just start spending all your time thinking about her, wondering what our future would be like-"
"Your FUTURE?! Okay, who are you and what have you done with Alex? Are you even fucking hearing yourself, man?"
I was getting infuriated at how stupid and ignorant he sounded.
"YEAH, JACK. YEAH I THINK ABOUT MY FUCKING FUTURE. I'M ALMOST 18, I'M GOING TO COLLEGE, AND I'M GOING TO GET MARRIED SOMEDAY. YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I WANT. YOU WANNA MAKE FUN OF ME? FUCKING GO AHEAD. I DON'T WANNA SPEND MY LIFE DRINKING AND PARTYING AND JUST FUCKING ANY GIRL I CAN GET. I'M NOT LIKE YOU, JACK. YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE LIKE ITS A FUCKING GAME. YOU TREAT GIRLS LIKE THEY'RE TOYS, AND YOU NEVER FUCKING CARE ABOUT ANYTHING!"
I had finally let it all out. All that I've been holding in around the guys for all these years. I felt free, and proud of myself. And then I felt a pang of regret. I softened my expression after noticing how hurt Jack looked at my offensive outburst. He blinked a few times.
"Man..she's really changed you.." he said, barely above a whisper.
I stood up.
"No, Jack. She's just made me open my eyes a bit. This is who I am..I'm sorry." I began to take it back out of guilt and regret.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you, you're my best friend. You were just looking out for me. I get it. Just forget about what I said, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry, you don't have to kick me out, I'll just go."
He still just had a shocked expression on his face, speechless. I began to walk out the door, when he got up, walked over, and surprisingly, gave me a hug.
"Sorry. I know I'm just a kid sometimes. You're right, I'm a jerk to chicks and I never give a fuck. But yeah, it's bad. I don't wanna live my life that way. I guess I just try to push aside all my problems and live kinda..recklessly. But, you're my bro. If you wanna chase Tay, I'm rooting for you that you get her. I'll even try to help, I'll be your wingman, dude! Sorry for being such an idiot. I love you, Man." he patted me on the back.
"Love you too, Bro." I smiled, glad I still had my best friend by my side.

Ugh..I don't know how I feel about this chapter..it's supposed to just be a filler but like I wanted to put a certain scene before this happened, but I had already started typing it and worked hard on it, and plus I ran out of ideas so it was too late. Oh well, I'll just stick that other scene in here somewhere else...still not sure where...
But hey guys! The reason why I keep updating so much in one day is because of the whole me moving thing, so I'm trying to get as much as I can done.
