The Irony of Falling In Love

The morning went by quick and before we knew it, it was 5 pm. We were at a coffee shop opposite the hotel, chilling and taking a breath away from the hotel.

A short man approached us with side swept bangs and a beanie on. "Alex! Just the man I was looking for." He said.

"Victor! It's been too long." Victor was one of my sophomore friends back in high school. Although he was older than I was, he helped me spend the rest of the semester being an alienated rebellion. Grinning like an idiot, I gave him a hug.

"How have you been, Alex?" He asked me, sitting down. I raised my eyebrow as if to say, 'seriously?'

"You ruined my life, y'know. Introducing me to rock music isolated me and made me a misfit." I joked around. "You're so very welcome, Al." He giggled. Zack coughed, interrupting our two man conversation.

"Oh right, uhh. Victor, this is Zack." I said, nervously introducing him to Victor. "Zack Merrick." Zack said, taking his hand in his own. "Vic Fuentes." Victor said, smiling and shaking his hand.

"No way! You mean, THE Vic Fuentes of PIERCE THE VEIL??" Zack asked, looking at him with admiration. "Yeah." Victor replied. Zack begged him to sign his T-shirt and asked for a picture with him.

"Okay, there. I'm not taking anymore." I said, handing Zack his phone. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. There's gonna be a sick party at my house tonight. Why don't you guys come?"

"Ha! Sure, man." I said, ignoring Zack as he was fangirling over the pictures and being invited to a party by the lead singer of Pierce The Veil. "Alright, see you guys there." Victor said, walking out of the coffee shop.

"Alex. Tell me I'm dreaming and I didn't actually meet Vic Fuentes!" Zack said, grabbing my arm and shaking it. "Remind me to never introduce you to my famous friends." I croaked, trying to pull my arm away but finding it pointless seeing how Zack's arms are muscular and three times bigger than mine.

Arriving at the party with Zack was like arriving at a candy shop with a six year old. I gave him a stern look, like I was telling him to subside the excitement so he wouldn't embarrass us..

We walked over to Vic and a crowd of people surrounding him. "......So then I said, 'So am I!'" He said, sipping a bottle of tequila while everyone around him bursted out laughing.

"Hey, everyone!" He walked over to me, noticing my beanie from the crowd of people and pulled me to the front, "meet Alex!" He threw me forward to the crowd. I smiled and felt my cheeks glow.

The crowd chanted my name a couple of times before I bowed immediately, enjoying the attention. "Oh, Alex," Victor began, grabbing me by the elbow and pulling me to the side. "This is..." He said, signalling the lady next to him to tell me her name. "... Stella." She said smiling.

"You can have this." He said, placing the bottle of tequila in my hand. I looked at Stella, smiling. She was beautiful. She had jet black hair which complimented her dark eye make-up and brought out her dark brown eyes.

She was wearing a Blink182 T-shirt with white ripped shorts and vans. "I love Blink182." I muttered under my breath, staring at her shirt.

"Haha, so do I, What's your favourite song by them?" She asked me, fiddling with her thumbs. Her smile was big and energetic. I shrugged, "There's so many." I said, scratching the back of my neck.

she grabbed my arm and dragged me to the living room. "Let's dance," she said, turning around to face me, smirking. I grinned and laughed at the fact that I couldn't dance. "I can't dance." I told her, shaking my head.

"C'mon!" she pouted, "pretend you're a lightweight floating on the edge of the world." She sneered, holding out her hands to me. "Wow, deep." I was almost drunk enough to do so but I rejected her offer and walked to the kitchen.

Finally feeling the effect of the drink, I stopped by the kitchen door; trying to catch my balance. I gulped down more of the tequila and staggered to a cabinet, taking out a wine glass.

Pouring the rest of the content into the glass and opening the fridge to find another tequila bottle, I grabbed it and the glass in my other hand and dragged myself out.

"There you are! I was looking everywhere for you." Stella said, wrapping her left arm around my shoulder and pulling the bottle away from my hand. "I think you've had enough of this." She said, stern and gulped some of it down.

"Actually," I grabbed it away from her and poured some into my glass. "I'm just getting started."
