Eight
Bella stared at the pregnancy test in horror. Part of her wanted to pull the cliché movie stunt of screaming and shouting as she jumped around happily, but then the other part of her wanted to break down in tears. She couldn't even begin to think of how she was going to tell Alex. And Paige. Bella looked up from the test and held a hand over her forehead. "Shit. Paige. She's just had a fucking miscarriage and now I'm finding out I'm pregnant?!" Bella threw the test down on the floor, hearing it clatter and wincing, hoping that Paige didn't hear it.
She gathered her belongings that had fallen out from her handbag and the pregnancy test from the floor and set herself straight once again. She could feel the stress beaming off of her. Bella decided she would wait until Alex was back to tell him, and then take another test. Because even if she wanted to, even though she never would, she was too far gone to have an abortion considering how long she had been without a period.
Heading for the bathroom door and unlocking it, Bella turned round one last time and looked at her reflection in the mirror. She lifted her shirt up slightly and took in the shape of her stomach. There was no doubt about it. She run a hand over her stomach and gave a half smile in the mirror.

"What took you so long?" Paige frowned as Bella walked in, looking exasperated.
"I feel completely and utterly sick. I don't think alcohol would be a good idea tonight. The Indian takeaway however, oh my God. Please." Bella licked her lips and made a hungry sound, wanting to rub her stomach to exaggerate her point, but not wanting Paige to focus on it. "How about we make it a baggy night? We can still do all that beauty shit, but I'm feeling more baggy clothes and pyjamas tonight."
"Yeah, that's fine by me. I'm kinda feeling the same, to be honest."
"Right, so let's get the takeaway menu out, find a bunch of films and then start our night off!" Bella smiled wide.

"I am absolutely stuffed." Paige grunted as she collapsed backwards onto the floor. Bella and Paige were sitting cross legged on the floor with their Indian food, watching a movie that was so high up on the wall, they had to crane their necks to see it. Bella had one of Alex's very baggy hoodies on and luckily, it was baggy enough that it hung over her stomach when she sat cross legged, meaning that her stomach didn't attract any attention. Bella burst into fits of laughter as Paige laid there on the floor, on her back and legs still crossed.
Bella fell back against the sofa and planted her hands on her stomach. "Me too. But at least my face feels all nice and smooth!" She giggled as she ran her hands over her face."
"Three weeks and six days left, Bella."
"Ugh. Don't go there ..hey. What time is it?"
"It's eleven. Why?"
Bella raised an eyebrow mischeviously and Paige instantly caught on. They both scrambled across the room to find Paige's iPod. Paige found it first and held it high up in the air with both hands, a victorious look on her face. They sat down on the sofa, careful not to step on any of the leftover takeaway food. Sitting down, they both fluffed each other's hair up and pouted at each other, bursting into laughter. "Right, we ready?" Bella asked.
"Damn right, we ready!" Paige held the iPod up in front of the both of them, and went onto her Facetime app. She started to call Zack's iPhone and they both waited for an answer. The call was accepted and the girls leaned on each other's shoulders, pretending to be asleep, snoring loudly away.
"Oh! I see how it is!" Shouted Zack from the iPod. "Alex, our lovely girlfriends have Facetimed us to tell us they are asleep!"
"Charming!" Alex snorted.
"Weeeeell!" Bella longed out the word. "You took so long to answer!" She chuckled.
"Hey baby!" Paige squealed, waving at Zack.
Bella gulped as she watched Alex waving at the two of them. She raised her hand slowly and gave a small wave. She choked on her own voice as she tried to speak. "Hey darling."
The girls started their catch-up conversation with the boys, to which lasted a very long time. Bella watched Alex on the iPod and watched him looking down at what she guessed was his phone. Suddenly, she felt her own phone vibrate in her pocket. She jumped slightly and pulled it out, reading the display that showed she had a new text from Alex. Bella touched the screen and opened the message.
She read it to herself. "You're so beautiful. I miss you so much. I love you." Her heart melted as she smiled shyly, hiding her face from the iPod camera. She caught Alex watching her and watched him smirk. He knew. She typed in her reply. "I miss you too, baby. I can't wait for you to come home. I love you too." Bella reread it to herself before sending it. Within five minutes, Bella had another text from Alex.
"Damn, is it that obvious?" Bella thought to herself as she read his message. "Alright. What's wrong?" She looked at him on the iPod screen and smiled, to which he squared his eyes at her and pursed his lips. Bella laughed as she typed another reply.
"Don't worry about it for now. We just need to talk properly when you are back."

I just read this story and its prequel and sincerely loved them both. You're an amazing writer, and these stories dealt with a lot of emotions, ranging from sad to loving and I just really enjoyed them both. You captured both of these themes really well. It took me a few chapters to get into the first story, but once I did, I was hooked and just kept reading until I finished this one. All within... two days I believe, I just couldn't stop reading it.
Even though it's been a few years since you've posted them, I just thought I would leave a comment and let you know I really enjoyed them. Great job with them. Just wanted to show people like me are still stumbling across them and enjoying them. <3
I'm bummed to see you haven't written anything else; if you ever choose to one day, let me know and I will for sure read what you have. You're a very talented writer and I would love to read more of your writing. No pressure though, lol.
