Bella's face dropped. She focused on Paige's expression. Paige looked at her with sad eyes and tears running down her cheeks. This wasn't happiness. Paige gave up trying to speak as she reluctantly shoved the test into Bella's hands. Paige fell to her knees and broke down into tears, as Bella stood there in disbelief, holding the pregnancy test that showed only one single line.

"..but.. how.. why.. I don't get it.." Bella whispered gently, as she sunk down to Paige's level and wrapped her arms around her. She pulled her in tight, knowing exactly how much it would have meant to Paige to get a positive result. The two girls sat there on the floor, outside of the door with the negative pregnancy test scattered to the side. Paige rocked in Bella's arms, as Bella tried to calm her, knowing that it was no use. She whispered words of courage in her ear and stroked her hair, kissing her head softly as she felt the heat in her own eyes.

Suddenly, Jack turned the corner to the bathroom and as he approached from down the corridor, Bella looked up at him sadly. The stream running down both cheeks made it obvious straight away what had happened. Jack gave her a questioning glance, to which Bella gently shook her head, trying not to cry even more as she carried on stroking Paige's hair.

"I don't get it. I thought for sure.. I mean.. all the signs and.. Bella.. why is this happening to me?" Paige sobbed as she felt Jack kneel beside her and wrap himself around her. The three of them sat there as Paige sobbed her heart out, hearing the same question over and over and over again, and neither Bella or Jack knowing how to answer it.

Paige was sat curled up on the sofa as Bella ran around the kitchen, cleaning and tidying. Paige was lost in the melodramatic bullshit on the television and Bella was trying to keep herself busy; her best friend was hurting and she had no idea how to deal with it. She was lost for ideas and she knew that nothing she could say at this minute would make anything better.

Paige rose from her seat and walked slowly towards the kitchen. Stopping Bella in her tracks, she held her arms and forced her to put down the cleaning products. Bella sighed and leaned over the counter as she felt Paige cuddle her from behind, her head resting so peacefully on her back. Bella turned around and sighed again, taking her best friend in her arms and the two of them stood there. No words were spoken. All that could be heard was the chatter from the television and the sound of the two girls breathing in rhythm.

"I want ice cream. Ben and Jerry's. Cookie Dough." Paige whimpered sadly as Bella chuckled to herself, pulling away to look at Paige. She brushed the hair out of Paige's very red and very sad, puffy eyes.

"Then ice cream you shall have. Ben and Jerry's. Cookie Dough. Go. Sit." Bella commanded as she pointed to a seat over in the lounge. She reached down into the freezer, pulling out two tubs of ice cream, wincing as her body ached when she returned to her normal standing position. Bella then reached up into one of the cupboards. As she opened it, she saw the glint of shiny wrappers and paper and carefully chose a bar of chocolate. It was going to be one of those nights. A long night, at that.

The boys had disappeared with Isobel for a 'Meet and Greet' and Bella had agreed to let them take the baby, so that some of the fans could meet her. Even Bella figured herself that it would be a nice way for the fans to feel closer to the group. All Time Low's fanbase had gone absolutely crazy one day, when Alex had Tweeted a picture of him, Bella and Isobel - "a beautiful, family photo", his Mother had called it, in reply to the picture message he had sent her. Alex had promised to take care of Isobel, and Bella had warned him to not let her out of his arms, unless she was being passed to another member of the band. And Alex had agreed, wanting to stay on the right side of his fiancee.

But now, Bella plonked herself down next to Paige on the sofa, bringing her in for a cuddle as she passed her a tub of ice cream. She reached forward and winked at Paige, placing a big bar of chocolate on the coffee table in front of them. Paige smiled sadly.

It turned eight in the evening, and the boys were just walking through the front door. Alex was holding his precious daughter in his arms as she slept, he looked at her with such amazement and completely disregarded the boys as they tried to speak to him. Bella looked up and smiled so softly, then looking down at Paige fast asleep as she remained curled up to Bella's legs. She beckoned Zack over and they shared laughter and a flip of the fingers as Bella moved from her seat and let Zack sort Paige out. He hoisted her in to a fireman's carry and smiled sweetly at his girlfriend. She adapted to the new-found situation and curled into his chest, grabbing a bound of his shirt in her hands and holding on tight. Zack placed a kiss on her forehead and began to carry her up the stairs to their bedroom.

Alex watched as Bella walked over - she looked absolutely beautiful. Since the birth of their daughter, he had been taking in everything Bella did, and realising that she did every day-to-day thing with such beauty and grace. Even now, as she was walking towards him in her pyjama shorts and a vest, her face naked and her hair in a loose ponytail.. she was pure beauty's description. He gave her a gentle kiss on the lips as they both watched their daughter sleep. Alex reluctantly pulled his lips away from Bella's, noticeably begging for more when Bella stuck her tongue out and continued walking away as she walked up the stairs. Alex followed until they reached the nursery.

Zack laid next to Paige as she slept. He couldn't sleep, with so much on his mind, it made it impossible. He watched Paige - something wasn't right. She was sleeping more. She was eating more. She seemed depressed, back in her old ways when she miscarried the first baby. She seemed to have more mood changes than ever and she hardly seemed to make an effort anymore, and that wasn't Paige. Not that Zack cared about how she dressed, but he knew that she would always make the biggest effort whenever they went out somewhere. But now, she never seemed to want to leave the house. Paige started to stir from her sleep and after three minutes of stretching and turning and yawning, she eventually fully opened her eyes and stared up at Zack, smiling.

"Hey baby." She grinned. "I love you." For once, the smile on her face was real. She felt genuine happiness as she looked into Zack's eyes.

"I love you too." He tried to smile back. "Paige, what's going on?"

At this point, it was now one in the morning.

"Baby, can I tell you about it tomorrow? Trust me, I will tell you. I know I said I would 'tell you later' earlier on, but I'm shattered. Just don't worry about it, okay?"

"Of course I'm going to worry, Paige."

"Well don't." Paige put a finger to his lips. "Shh."

Zack laughed as Paige gave him a cheeky smile. He leaned in to kiss her. And he didn't stop.
