Thirty One
Zack sat in his seat, laughing as Rian caught on to what he was laughing at.
"I take it you saw it.." Rian joined in the laughter as Jack burst through the hospital doors.
"IS SHE HERE YET?" He squealed excitedly. "Please say she's here now! I want to meet the little shit!" He started to bounce up and down, blatantly bored of the surroundings.
"Jack, will you calm down. Bella is still pushing away." Rian chuckled, trying to calm Jack down.
"You mean Isobel is HALFWAY INTO THE WORLD?" He gasped in excitement as he brought his phone out from his pocket.
"I am going to take that bloody thing away from you, Jack! Seriously!" Zack laughed as Jack looked up innocently, with a knowing smirk slathered across his face. "Don't give me that look! I bet the fans are all having a good time sitting at home, watching and waiting!"
"Come on, it's like the intense moment at a football game, where everybody Tweets through excitement! They all wanna know how she's getting on! I've looked through the replies!" Jack begged.
"Well just calm down! Bella will probably murder you, y'know!" Zack tried to calm his laughter.
"Imagine if Isobel comes out with a weiner though." Jack added wistfully, with a look on his face full of genuine wonder and confusion.
That was it. Zack and Rian burst into fits of laughter, thankful that the waiting room they were in was empty.

"Bella! You heard her! One more push!" Alex squealed in excitement as he held on to his fiancee's hand, gripping it tight in return as she looked at him and smiled the biggest smile she had in a long while.

Paige started to feel sick. The horrible feeling in her belly wasn't going away any time soon. She watched as Bella gave the one last, final push. She watched as Alex started to cry, something so rare that she treasured it. She watched Bella fling backwards and rest, as the Nurse told her to relax for a while. She watched as the Nurse held the baby, held Isobel and wrapped her up gently. She watched as she felt that twinge of pain hit home hard. Again.
She smiled gently, whilst on the inside, she felt like all of the cracks were about to shatter her.
The room slowly began to spin and she admitted to herself that she felt rather dizzy.
But no, she would not let this get to her.
She would be there for Bella and Alex and Isobel.
"Even if it kills me."

"I'm a Mummy!" Bella shouted with glee.
"I'm a Daddy!" Alex screamed in return, clutching Bella's hand and kissing her numerous times.
Bella wiped the tears from her eyes, as she couldn't help but cry in happiness. Alex joined her, not letting go of her for a second.

"I can hear laughter! I can hear Bella crying! I think the baby has been born!" Jack squealed as he jumped back towards Rian and Zack, unable to control his excitement.
"Yes Jack, well just wait for the Nurse to come out and tell us it's alright for us to go in. There's no point barging on in and getting ourselves in trouble, is there.." Rian responded. "How many more Tweets have you sent?"
"He's sent enough. I really think we need to confiscate his phone, Rian!" Zack chuckled.
"BUT THE BABY." Jack screamed, hyper from the adrenaline and excitement.

"Daddy, would you like to cut the cord?" The Nurse said as she approached Alex.
Alex nodded with tears in his eyes, leaning over to reach the umbilical cord and cutting it with the instrument that was handed to him. Bella watched as her beloved husband-to-be tried to control his nerves, at least long enough to let him finish off a vital part of the birth. She looked over at Paige and noticed the tears in her eyes. Except, they didn't look like happy tears.
Bella's face fell to a frown.
Why wasn't Isobel making a noise?
Why were the Nurses gathering around her baby?

I just read this story and its prequel and sincerely loved them both. You're an amazing writer, and these stories dealt with a lot of emotions, ranging from sad to loving and I just really enjoyed them both. You captured both of these themes really well. It took me a few chapters to get into the first story, but once I did, I was hooked and just kept reading until I finished this one. All within... two days I believe, I just couldn't stop reading it.
Even though it's been a few years since you've posted them, I just thought I would leave a comment and let you know I really enjoyed them. Great job with them. Just wanted to show people like me are still stumbling across them and enjoying them. <3
I'm bummed to see you haven't written anything else; if you ever choose to one day, let me know and I will for sure read what you have. You're a very talented writer and I would love to read more of your writing. No pressure though, lol.
