Twenty Four
"OH. MY. GOD." Bella screamed, almost in tears. "I fucking love it! How the hell did you do this? No. You know what? I don't care. It is beautiful and I love it so much. Oh my. Seriously. Thankyou so much. I can't.. oh my God." Bella was lost for words as she felt the tears well up in her eyes.
"How did you even manage this?!" Alex questioned, pulling Bella close to him and holding her tight. "It is amazing."
Everyone looked up in unison, at the ceiling where a net of bright white lights shone, in the shape of stars. They represented the glow of the night stars, and with the room being a darker colour and the curtains shut, they made the room feel magical. Bella and Alex shared a kiss as Bella felt her bump move.
"See, even Isobel is ready to come out now. She's excited to see her room." Paige cooed as she rubbed Bella's bump. "Aren't you, baby? You can't wait. But you can't come out yet. We still aren't ready for you yet. So please, stay in there full term. Thankyou." Paige smiled and kissed Bella's bump, as Bella glanced down and smiled.
"Right, I seriously think it is time for bed now, you guys. I hate to break up this lovely scenario but it is two in the morning and I am tired." Zack half grunted, trying his hardest not to let his grumpiness show. "Babe?" He looked over at Paige, who turned back and smiled, a small tear in her eye that sparkled under the light of the ceiling. He sighed lightly to himself as everyone said their well-wishes for the night and made their way out of the room.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Zack whispered to Paige as she held her body tight against his, as they lay there in bed. "And don't say that there isn't anything wrong. I saw that tear. Tell me." Zack forced Paige to turn over in bed, as she faced him with a small stream of tears down her left cheek.
"That could.. that.. that could have.. been.. that could have been us, Zack. I mean.. don't get me wrong, I am so fucking happy for Bella and Alex.. but, that.. could have.. been.. us." Paige whimpered lightly, trying not to cry but failing as soon as Zack wrapped his arms around her, when he realised exactly what she was talking about. "I just.. I don't know, Zack. I'm not jealous.. I just wish.. that I could have kept mine.."
"Paige.. Paige, calm down. Look at me. Breathe. You didn't know you were pregnant, sweetheart. You couldn't have predicted anything when you didn't know, alright? Stop blaming yourself. Look me square in the eye and tell me that you believe this is your fault and that you could have done something to stop it."
Paige looked Zack in the eye, sighing and gulping down the fresh tears. "I know you're right, Zack but it doesn't make it any easier." Paige looked down at her stomach, stroking it with a feeling of longing.

Bella curled up to Alex as they lay in bed. She nuzzled into his chest and breathed in his scent, thinking of how lucky she was to have him, and how lucky Isobel was going to be to be welcomed in to such a massive, loving family.
But she worried.
"Alex, did you see the look on Paige's face earlier?" She whispered into Alex's chest as he played with her hair.
"Yep." He sighed as he looked up into the thin, dark air.
"It killed me." Bella's chest faltered slightly.
'I know, baby. There isn't anything we can really do though. We can't pussyfoot around her for the rest of her life or she will hate us. And we can't not plan for our baby."
"I know that and she knows that."
"I don't like seeing her hurt, Bella. Fuck, she's like my sister now. But this is something she just needs to overcome in her own time. Try not to worry, princess. You need your sleep." Alex tilted Bella's head up by her chin and looked at her with a sympathetic smile.
He planted a kiss on her lips.
"I love you, Bella. So much."
"And I love you too."

I just read this story and its prequel and sincerely loved them both. You're an amazing writer, and these stories dealt with a lot of emotions, ranging from sad to loving and I just really enjoyed them both. You captured both of these themes really well. It took me a few chapters to get into the first story, but once I did, I was hooked and just kept reading until I finished this one. All within... two days I believe, I just couldn't stop reading it.
Even though it's been a few years since you've posted them, I just thought I would leave a comment and let you know I really enjoyed them. Great job with them. Just wanted to show people like me are still stumbling across them and enjoying them. <3
I'm bummed to see you haven't written anything else; if you ever choose to one day, let me know and I will for sure read what you have. You're a very talented writer and I would love to read more of your writing. No pressure though, lol.
