Twenty Two
The six of them stood there, in the middle of the nursery, staring at the now wallpapered wall. Each of them turned around occasionally to stare at the other walls, a look of awe on their faces. Each and every one of them were amazed at how well the room had turned out. A man had even shown up at one point to lay the new carpet, which of course Bella and Alex knew nothing about. The carpet was just jet black, and matched the room perfectly. Everything looked so good. And now that the carpet was set and the walls were finished, it was time to bring in the furniture and set it in place. After all, if the baby were to show up now, they wouldn't be able to use the room yet and that was no good.
Bella and Paige ran out into the hallway, standing by the cot that the had built earlier. "We call dibs!" Bella exclaimed, laughing as they both wrapped their arms around it.
"No fair! I wanted to push that in!" Rian pouted.
"Nope!" Paige laughed as the two girls started to push the cot in, making car sounds as they entered the room and forced the boys out of the way. "Oh, I think it should go over there!" Paige squealed as she pointed to the wall with the wallpaper on it. "It would be so cute!" The girls pushed the cot towards thewallpapered wall and put it in the centre, smiling at their acheivement.
"I like it!" Bella smiled widely.
The boys began to push the rest of the furniture in, and another half an hour later, and the room was set up completely. The black, shiny and glossy furniture was placed around the room; the cot, the changing table, a set of drawers, a toy box, a black and cushioned rocking chair and some black shelves. The shelves had been put up on the wall opposite the wallpapered one, and the changing table had been set up underneath them.
Jack had laughed hard when he had gone to the toilet, to find a bright pink potty sitting in there, right next to the toilet. Bella had said it was better than the baby learning to use the potty in the nursery and then using the carpet instead, to which all of them agreed with a look of slight disgust.
"Right, I'm gonna go start to cook something to eat. It's a lot later than I first thought.." Alex said as he stared at the time on his phone, rubbing his stomach. Bella agreed and they all marched downstairs.
"Yeah, we'll be down in a bit, alright? We're just gonna make sure everything is alright up here." Jack shouted as the others waved in acknowledgement. Jack turned to look at Zack. "Where have you put them?"
Zack pointed at the bag, a massive smile spread across his face.
"Oh my God, man! This is going to be fucking awesome! Just imagine the looks on their faces when they come back up to see it!"
"I know, but let's hurry up and get on with it. You know how fast they can eat when they're hungry!" Zack chuckled as he nudged Jack in the side. "Come on, let's get a move on!"
The boys headed over towards the bag and searched it, as Jack pulled out a brand new, unopened box. His face showed pure excitement as he showed it to Zack, who nodded and motioned for him to open it.

"What do you think they are doing up there? It shouldn't take that long to make sure everything is set straight, surely..' Bella hummed as she sat at the dining table, staring upstairs.
"I'm sure they're just making last minute checks, Bel. Just keep your head on and eat." Rian rubbed Bella's back. "Come on, baby's hungry." He laughed as he watched Bella's bump move around.
"You know, I fucking hate when they do that. It looks like I have an alien in my stomach. Or as if I haven't eaten in days, to the point every grumble can be seen. I just want this fucker out of there now."
"All in good time, babe." Alex soothed as he walked over to Bella, giving her a kiss on the head and wrapping his arms around her as he crept up behind her. He rested his head on her shoulder as she soothed into him, her eyes drooping. "Eat first, sleep later." He warned as he leaned round and kissed her on the cheek, pointing at the plate of food in front of her.

There were two plates of food left on the kitchen counter, still waiting for Zack and Jack to eat. Alex had left a note on the side next to them, telling them to heat the plates up, otherwise it would taste horrible when it was cold. Alex had sat on the sofa with Bella laying in his lap, curled up like a kitten. Paige had chosen her place next to Bella, cuddling up to her and her bump. Rian had decided to sit in the armchair, but by this point, his body was slumped over it, his fee dangling off the edge.
They had all collapsed in unison to watch television, waiting for Zack and Jack to finish what they were doing.
Suddenly, screams and shouts were heard from upstairs. Everyone jumped out of place and shot up, rushing up the stairs. The nursery door was shut.

I just read this story and its prequel and sincerely loved them both. You're an amazing writer, and these stories dealt with a lot of emotions, ranging from sad to loving and I just really enjoyed them both. You captured both of these themes really well. It took me a few chapters to get into the first story, but once I did, I was hooked and just kept reading until I finished this one. All within... two days I believe, I just couldn't stop reading it.
Even though it's been a few years since you've posted them, I just thought I would leave a comment and let you know I really enjoyed them. Great job with them. Just wanted to show people like me are still stumbling across them and enjoying them. <3
I'm bummed to see you haven't written anything else; if you ever choose to one day, let me know and I will for sure read what you have. You're a very talented writer and I would love to read more of your writing. No pressure though, lol.
