Thirteen
"Well. Bella. Alex. I'm happy to tell you that you're having a -"
"Wait." Bella interrupted.
"No, we wanna know! She's crazy, she doesn't know what she's talking about!" Alex squealed.
"I like surprises though!" Bella pouted.
"But we need to know colours and everything, c'mon!" Alex pouted back.
"But.." Bella started.
"You know I'm right!" Alex protested.
"Hahahaha, would you like to know or not?" The Midwife questioned, laughing at the bickering couple.
"PLEASE BEFORE SHE CHANGES HER GOD-DAMN MIND AGAIN." Alex squealed in excitement.
The Midwife looked at Bella, laughter held back in her cheeks. Bella nodded and the Midwife took that as her sign to continue. She rolled the device over Bella's stomach again. "This would be a lot easier if your baby would stay still long enough!" The Midwife giggled, losing all composure.
"Stubborn like its Dad!" Bella laughed as she kissed Alex when he glared at her.
"Ah! There we go! Right. I'll try again. Bella and Alex, you are going to have a beautiful little girl."
Bella and Alex looked at each other, wide grins on their faces as they squealed in delight. The Midwife looked at them and smiled. "Would you like a picture of the scan?" She asked.
The two proud parents turned around to face the Midwife, and again, nodded in unison. The smiles on their faces seeming to light up the whole room, as the sun began to shine through the half-open blinds in the window. Alex and Bella stared at the image on the screen as the Midwife explained to them what would happen over the next few months.
"Wait, so how far am I? How long do I have left?" Bella questioned. Excitement showing on her face.
"You're approximately eighteen weeks, so assuming you last full term, you have about twenty weeks left."
"Which is.. five months?" Alex added up, smiling like the Cheshire Cat.
The Midwife nodded and continued to explain further, but all Bella and Alex could think about was the little baby girl that was growing inside of Bella, right at this very moment.

Bella walked out of the "baby section", hand in hand with Alex, a smile plastered across both of their faces. Bella held the scan picture in front of her, looking at it in amazement, Alex catching a glimpse of it every now and then. Alex squeezed Bella's hand as he saw Paige and Zack walking towards them.
Bella hurried to hide the scan picture, forgetting that they had just walked away from a big sign, stating the obvious.
Paige walked up to them, a massive smile on her face, soon turning to acknowledgement of what was going on. "Do I really need to ask why you two are here?" She smiled a big smile at the two of them, letting go of Zack's hand to hug Bella.
Bella tried to steady herself from the force of Paige's hug, that nearly sent her flying backwards. Zack looked at Alex as if to say "are you serious?". Alex just nodded happily in return, a wary look on his face as he watched Paige's reaction.
"Oh my God! How far? How long left? What are you having? Do you have a picture? Oh my God! Girl or boy? Names?" Paige squealed in excitement, trying to catch her breath.
"Woah! Too many questions to take in, in one go! Calm the fuck down!" Bella laughed as she caught her breath, feeling like Paige had just squeezed all of the life out of her. "Can we talk about this in the car? Or when we get home? I don't feel comfortable here." Bella came back to reality.
Paige bounced alongside Bella on the way back to the car, like a little puppy following their new owner. Bella got in the car and Paige quickly "shotgun"d the front passenger seat, as Bella laughed and repeatedly told her to calm down.
They decided to wait until they got back to the house, before letting her know the details.
At least that way, everyone who needed to know, could be told at the same time.

I just read this story and its prequel and sincerely loved them both. You're an amazing writer, and these stories dealt with a lot of emotions, ranging from sad to loving and I just really enjoyed them both. You captured both of these themes really well. It took me a few chapters to get into the first story, but once I did, I was hooked and just kept reading until I finished this one. All within... two days I believe, I just couldn't stop reading it.
Even though it's been a few years since you've posted them, I just thought I would leave a comment and let you know I really enjoyed them. Great job with them. Just wanted to show people like me are still stumbling across them and enjoying them. <3
I'm bummed to see you haven't written anything else; if you ever choose to one day, let me know and I will for sure read what you have. You're a very talented writer and I would love to read more of your writing. No pressure though, lol.
