Bella looked up at her best friend, who was laying on the floor of the sideline. The boys had stopped what they were doing, in the middle of their set. The crowd had fallen silent. There weren't even any hisses or 'boo's, like you'd expect. They were respectful that something had gone wrong and nobody knew what. Alex had moved round to where Bella was crouching, and placed his arm around her. She felt a little bit more safe, knowing that Alex was there to protect her. She turned her stare back to the patch of blood that was growing more and more in-between Paige's legs. Paige had become aware of it, realising that something felt wet down there, and she didn't know what. At first, she had made them all laugh, shouting that she "better not had pissed herself all over her new outfit" but then the seriousness of the matter hit.

It was blood.

From research that Bella had done in school, that normally meant a miscarriage. You had to be pregnant to have a miscarriage. Which meant that Paige, her best friend, was or had been pregnant and either hadn't told her, or didn't know. She hated the thought that Paige would be pregnant and not tell Bella something stupendous like that, after all, they were best friends. But then she'd only said earlier on in the day that she was getting fat, so maybe she didn't know after all.

Bella tried to calm herself and her best friend down.

Paramedics rushed in and sorted Paige out. They asked if anyone wanted to come on the ambulance with her. Paige held out her hand and screamed for Bella, which Bella took as her cue to go. She held Paige's hand as they carried her out to the ambulance. Alex walked out with the two of them, as Rian and Jack held Zack as he sobbed lightly, trying not to make it obvious that he was crying. Alex kissed Bella on the forehead, telling her that it would be alright and that they would meet her at the hospital.

Bella tearfully agreed before telling Alex that she loved him and stepping into the ambulance, sitting down next to Paige and holding her hand tight, kissing it every now and then to try to stop her from crying. Paige was scared. She couldn't think straight and she still had no clue why there was blood between her legs. But Bella was pretty sure it could mean one thing and one thing only.

Paige clutched on tight to Bella, praying that she would get to the hospital fast. Not only did she want to find out what was wrong, she wanted to get out of these clothes. She felt embarrassed that she was lying there in her brand new clothes, covered in blood for no apparent reason.

Alex, Rian, Jack and Zack all got in Bella's car. Zack pleaded with Alex to drive them back to the house, explaining that he knew Paige better than any of them and he needed to get some more clothes for her, because she would freak if she knew she would have to come home in clothes that she was admitted in. He rushed into the house, worried sick, and searching her set of drawers and wardrobe for her slouch clothes, knowing that with how shit she would be feeling, she would need them. He rushed out of the house, locking it and jumping back in the car. Not a word was said as they drove to the hospital.

The ambulance arrived at the hospital, a very long twenty minutes later. Paige was rushed in and she heard her details being said aloud. It's the type of thing she watched on television and never expected to actually happen to her. Tears fell from her eyes as she looked at her best friend, who knew she was scared to death.

Alex pulled up at the entrance to the hospital as Jack, Zack and Rian ran out of the car. They left Alex to find a parking space as they rushed in to find out where Paige was and what was going on. Five minutes later and Alex walked in, just as the three boys were approached by a Doctor. He joined in and listened to the news. Each of their faces dropping at what had happened.

Zack stood there silently, not knowing what to say. The mood was somber. The atmosphere dragged as they were taken to Paige. When they reached her room, they found Bella sitting next to her, clutching her hand, watching her as she stared out of the window. Paige heard the shuffle of footsteps and turned to look at the door, searching for Zack. Her eyes were red and puffy and her cheeks were black and grey from her ruined makeup.

Bella traded places with Zack, who embraced Paige. Nobody said a word. Bella walked up to Alex, who took her in his arms as tight as he could, never wanting to let her go.

The room was silent.

"I was going to be a Mummy." Paige burst into tears.
