The Last Night

Alex's P.O.V.

Alex's life of torture had become routine by now. Get beat up at school. Cut after school. Get raped at home. Cut again before crying himself to sleep. Alex finally decided that tonight, he would end it. He walked into school with his head held high. If he was going out, he was going out with a bang.

"What are you so confident for fag? Finally find a boyfriend?" Zack's voice felt like a smack in the face, causing his shoulders to slump as he now stared at his shoes. So much for going out with a bang.

"What's going on fatass?" Jack piped up.

Alex had never heard Jack actually participate with his friends. He felt his heart crack. For a while he'd though Jack actually liked him. The punch that crashed into his nose proved that theory to be a fantasy, however. Alex's hand flew to his nose. Was it broken?

"Answer me you little cunt!" Jack yelled as he pushed Alex against a locker. He kept his silence. "I will fucking kill you bitch! Your life means nothing."

Alex was surprised by the smirk that crawled onto his face. "Do it." Alex heard his own voice say. His abusers looked shock. "I was gonna do it today anyways. At least this way I don't have to put in as much effort."

Zack, Rian, Matt, and Zack all stood there with their mouths hanging open in shock. Alex's smirk increased its size. He heard himself laugh even. He pushed his way past the boys and into the bathroom.

He sat down in a corner and ran his hands through his hair and his adrenaline was replaced with sobs. Oh god. What if they told someone and he wasn't able to go through with it? His hand reached into the pocket of his hoodie as he felt around for the bottle of sleeping pills and his favorite blade. Yes, he has a favorite. He pulled his backpack into his lap and found his water bottle. He hummed 'The Balcony Scene' by Pierce the Veil as he screwed of the cap to both the water bottle and pills.

Alex popped a handful into his mouth and used the water to swallow them down before he went for another. It wasn't long before the bottle was empty. He heard the bathroom door open and through his blurry eyes, he saw none other than Jack Barakat.

"Shit!" Jack exclaimed. "What did you do to yourself Alex? Fuck." Jack looked distressed to say the very least. He knelt down next to Alex and started saying things that Alex couldn't hear as he pulled out his cell phone.

Alex couldn't believe how beautiful Jack looked. He always been that attractive? Oh well, it didn't matter now that Alex was inhaling some of the last breaths he would ever take. He kept his eyes on Jack's. They were the color of hot cocoa and just as comforting. His gaze eventually dropped to Jack's lips as they moved. Alex wished he had the energy to kiss them.

"Oh Jack!" Alex slurred as he struggled to maintain consciousness long enough to say the words he felt that he needed to get out. Alex watched Jack's tear filled eyes fly to him in terror as his the words finally escaped from his mouth. Jack had a phone to his ear. Alex let out a giggle that made the tears in Jack's eyes spill over. "You made it! I'm so happy. So, so very happy."

That was the last thing Alex could remember doing before the world around him became black and he felt his head hit the cold, hard tile floor. The impact didn't even hurt. Alex just felt the happiness that came along with his escape warm his tummy.

Hey guys, sorry for taking forever, I've had a load of school work and my long distance boyfriend had his birthday so I was celebrating that as well.
