Sing It Out

Jack's POV:
We get my stuff in the trunk of the car and close it. Uncle Austin is already back home in Vegas, so if I ever want to see him he can drive to see me. I get in the passenger seat and mom gets in the drivers seat. Dad knocks on the window and I roll it down, "you have everything?" "Yeah." "Here. Just in case." He hands me a wad of money, "dad." "I know you'll need money to go out with Austin and to buy food while at the airports." I look back up at him, "thanks dad." "Stay safe Jack." "I will." I roll the window back up and mom drives off, I let out a huge breath and lean back in the seat. "We did it." "I'm not even sure if I still want to go mom." "Austin and I already paid for your tuition Jack, there's no going back now." We drive for a hour and finally reach the airport. Mom parks in the parking garage and helps me with my stuff. I grab my guitar case and look at it, its weird holding it again. I grab my other suitcase and my mom grabs the other one and we make our way to the airport entrance.

"You sure you have everything right Jack." "Yeah." We get inside and find the check in, "I already checked you in online this morning, so all you have to do is handle your bag." "Okay." Mom hands me my ticket and rests her hand on my shoulder. "Have fun and stay safe Jack." "I will mom, I promise." She kisses my forehead and hugs me tightly, I return the hug and we pull apart. "I love you mom." "I love you too, Jack." Mom walks off and I get my luggage taken care of. I run over to security and quickly get checked, all I have is my small bag since I put my laptop in my suitcase. I get through security and ask a security guard where my gate is and he pointed me where I should go. I walk through the airport, looking for my gate. I finally find it and take a seat near the door. I look at the time and realize I'm 30 minutes early. But there's no point in me going to get something to eat. We soon board the plane, my mom ended up getting me a window seat and I get comfortable in my eat. Soon the plane takes off and I look out the window, looking down at the clouds below us.

I quickly grab my luggage and run outside, its night now and I have to find a taxi. I stand on the sidewalk and wave my arm and a taxi pulls up. I put my jacket down real quick and the taxi driver helps me get my luggage into the taxi's trunk. I open my door and look to grab my jacket but its not there. "Did you see where my jacket went?" "Welcome to L.A. where you need to keep a closer eye on your things. Come on." I roll my eyes and get in the taxi and he drives off. I look out the window the whole time, everything amazes me here. The lights, the atmosphere. We finally reach the school and I get out, right after he gets my luggage out and I pay him he quickly drives off. I let out a deep sigh and walk up to the student living building, I have to check in inside. I pull on the door but its locked. I bang on the door, "HELLO!!!" I bang more and I soon see a guy walk in the hall and I band even more and he looks at me annoyed. He opens the door and sticks his head, "sorry filled up." He closes the door and I bang more, "HEY!" He looks back at me and opens the door.

"You really know how to make noise don't you." "Come on, I'm tired, I just flew across the country, I just want to get checked in and get to my room." He smiles at me and laughs, "i'm just kidding man. Come on." He holds the door open for me and I walk in with my stuff. "Which way." "Follow me." I follow him through a hall and we soon reach some people hanging out and a table with a girl working it. I go up to the table, "I knew you were going to arrive. You must be Jack." "Um, yeah." "Your the last one to arrive. We knew you were traveling from Towsen." She gives me my room info and room key. "Thanks." "Which room are you," the guy asks me. "Um, room 311." "I'm on the floor above you. I'll show you where your room is." "Thanks." I follow him upstairs and get to the third floor. Two girls walk up to him and one wraps her arms around his waist. "Hey babe, I send you to go get a snack and you come back with a stray." "Sorry Lisa, but I wanted to show the new kid before there was no one who could." "Hi, I'm Jack." "Uh huh," Lisa says and walks off with her friend.

"Don't mind Lisa, she's just hungry and annoyed I didn't come back with food." "What's your name?" "Alex." I nod, "well thanks Alex but I need to get to my room." "No problem." I find my room and get inside, the lights off. I turn on the lights and guy groans and sits up in one of the beds. "Fuck I had this room to myself." "Sorry, I'm Jack. Your roommate." "Zack, and fucking turn the light off." "Sorry." I turn off the light and use my phone light to put my stuff away. I look out the window and stare at the view. I can't believe I'm here.
