Unexpected

Graham’s POV

It’s guy’s night! That means food and alcohol! Nah, it’s just mostly apple juice and burgers with Sebastian and Colin, but only Sebastian tonight. Oddly, he hasn’t been himself. He’s super quiet right now. Man, this kid must have problems.

“Dude, why are you so quiet? You usually jump around and convince me to drink booze. What’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing.”

“Come on! You’re my bro, you can tell me anything.” There happened to be an awkward silence for while. “Is it Mackenzie? I’m not dumb you know. I know it’s tense between you two. Just tell me.”

“Hm, well Graham, what are you suppose to do when the girl you have a crush on doesn’t believe in the possibility of love? What power do I have to change her?”

“Well, one thing I know is you can’t. I mean, she and I, we’re kinda similar. We don’t mess around with our feelings, but it’s because we’re not ready. If you really like her, then accept her the way she is. If you can’t, sorry dude, but I don’t think you truly care for her.”

Another awkward silence hit the room. It’s just us sipping our apple juice now.

“You know what, you’re right. Thanks man.”

“No problem and promise me, you won’t hurt Kenzie. She’s more vulnerable than she thinks she is and you’re sharper than you think you are.”

“I promise Graham.”
