Mackenzie's POV


It was Saturday, which means Pizza night with dad and Colin. Dad bought a huge pepperoni pizza for the three of us. Colin was coming for a sleepover tonight. I know, super girly, but it’s usually just pizza, movies, and digging dirt about our dads, which are never ending. I’m really excited about tonight.

“Mackenzie! Colin is here.” Dad shouted. I stumbled going down the stairs and hugged Colin immediately when he walked in the door. Dad hugged Colin as well and we helped him with his overnight bag and pillow.

“It’s good to see you Colin” Dad smiled

“It’s good to see you too Mr. Merrick”

“It’s pizza time.” I flashed a mischievous smile. We all raced to the kitchen. Of course, dad was first and Colin was last. Dad’s still athletic. I don’t even know how. Sometimes he asks me to go for a morning run and every time we do it, he manages to almost kill me. He just never stop and we always run miles.

Anyways, we took a plate and we grabbed a couple of pizza slices. We sat down by the TV. Colin sat between dad and me. Sometimes, dad and I treat him like a girl just to mess with him. He doesn’t seem to mind though. I mean, we knew he was straight, but still, it was always fun to mess with Colin. We watched the Baltimore Ravens till it was almost midnight. All of us are Ravens fans. They’re so cool; none of us could handle the hype.

THE RAVENS WON!!!! AHHHH!!! The three of us cheered, stood up, and hug each other. It was those little moments that are precious. Moments like this are the only reason why I keep living. The joy I always feel during this moments are beyond words.

We cleaned up as soon we stopped hearing the neighborhood cheering. Not long before, the whole neighborhood just kinda went out and hugged each other. I’m not kidding. I even hugged Mrs. Stockett, Mrs. Gaskarth and Mr. Gaskarth who lived close by. Both Colin and I wondered where Sebastian was. He never misses a game, but whatever. He was probably too shy to go out. It’s normal.

After I washed the dishes and Colin dried them, dad gave us a goodnight hug. Dad’s hugs are always warm and hard. It was nice though. It never fails on making me feel cozy on the inside. We went upstairs while dad turned off the lights and locked the doors. Colin and I were excited about tonight. A night with Colin? Oh yeah it was gonna be a good night.

I changed into my pajamas. Just a warm Ravens hoodie and some sweatpants to keep me warm at night. I was thinking about wearing my Orioles hoodie, but the Ravens just won, it’s worth the celebration.

When I got out, Colin also wore the same thing. We chuckled and we lay on my bed. I opened google and of course we went through some movie news, local news, international news, just the usual. I was looking at the Zack Merrick tag on tumblr and I saw my grandma! She looked so cute talking about Colin’s dad (Mr. Barakat) in their documentary. We were laughing like a bunch of idiots on crack. Because of our curiosity, I went down and took dad’s copy of the documentary. I never really got a chance to watch it because dad said there was a lot of nudity. Yeah, I didn’t want to know about that, but Colin insisted. I was curious myself, so I took it and Colin promised me that he would close my eyes if he sensed a nude scene coming. He was always good in sensing stuff.

We watched the featurette, which was great and in the middle of the featurette, some questions started rolling inside my mind.

“Colin,” I said. “What happened to you and Lily?”

“Can we talk about it after we’re done with this?’

“Yeah sure, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay.”

Okay, Colin closed my eyes a lot. That’s a lot of nudity, but overall it was an awesome documentary. Colin and I dropped our jaws when we saw my dad exercising. Boy, was he fitter back then. I remember when Colin said, “Salute! Mr. Merrick.” And we just chuckled.

The film’s over now, and that’s enough dirt for one night. We brushed our teeth and we’re back to lying down again. Colin’s like a brother to me, so we’re fine lying together. We’ve been best friends since we were toddlers anyways, so there’s no separating us now.

I was dozing off until Colin called me.

“So, about Lily. Her dog, Athos ran to me when we were younger and that’s when she really caught my eye. She was different. She was quiet, shy, and a dog lover. We became friends, close friends actually, but we grew up. Puberty hit the both of us. She turned into this beautiful girl, got new friends, and we drifted apart. It wasn’t anyone’s fault, but the more we drifted the more I realize that I have feelings for her. So yeah, if that’s what you want to know, you got what you want. She’s definitely out of my league. She beautiful, smart, kind, and- ”

“And what? Colin Barakat, you’re good looking trust me. You look like young Dylan O’Brien for fuck’s sake!” I said sitting up, Colin’s eyes filled with terror. “ And don’t you even dare say you’re not smart nor kind. You’re all that. I don’t care how popular she is, if she can’t love you back no matter what the circumstances are then, you’re out of her league.”

Colin sat up and hugged me.

“Thank you.” He said. “But what about you?”

Colin's POV


I wasn’t oblivious about Sebastian’s feelings towards Mackenzie. In fact, I ship them. Sadly, Sebastian doesn’t show a lot of emotions. He’s just doesn’t want to lose his cool sometimes which pisses me off. You have the girl you love right in front of you and she cares about you as well, it’s not that hard. He just needs to stop being so cool and punch down Mackenzie’s guard.

Graham and I always talk about this and I’m glad Graham is with me on this. Sebastian never tells us a lot about his feelings, but we’re not stupid. His face hides a lot of emotion only the two of us can read.

“What about you?” I asked desperately wanting her to talk about Sebastian. Of course I was right.

“I don’t know. I don’t really want to talk about my love life. I’m never in the mood for that, but I do have a question. I always feel so comfortable with you and Graham, but not with Sebastian. What’s going on with him?”

Mackenzie is a smart girl. She really is and she wasn’t just book smart, she was clever, but boy was she stupid when it comes to Sebastian.

“Uhm, I don’t know. Why don’t you talk to him? He’s really nice once he’s all warmed up.” I kept myself from acting weird.

“I know, but he just doesn’t want to. He doesn’t want to lose his chillness. I miss him Colin. Sometimes he’s just not there even if I was, but I’m glad I have you and Graham though. I really do, so don’t get me wrong, but Sebastian, he gets in my nerves.”

“Hey,it’s okay. I understand. Trust me, if you ever need anyone and he doesn’t give a fuck, you have Graham and me. We’ll be there for you. I promise, okay?”

“Okay, and you know I’ll be there for you right?”

“Of course.”

Man, Colin is fictional, but I'm falling in love with the guy. Also, I have a plan for Graham which makes me love him more even though he's shy. :>
