Unexpected

Mackenzie's POV

I ran down the stairs and kissed dad’s cheek. I said goodbye and ran to Sebastian’s car. I went inside, hearing a few hellos from my buddies. I sat next to Graham in the backseat while Sebastian and Colin were upfront. We were going to have a movie night.

The ticket line was slow and excruciating, but the movie was worth it. The cinema was full with teenagers and funnily, everyone was laughing, enjoying the movie, or throwing popcorn at each other. After the movie ended, Sebastian put his arms around me. I didn’t really mind. The guys do that all the time and it was cold, so he was like my heater. For some reason, his body was always warm.

We were walking a few minutes trying to get to the car until Graham stopped us.

“Guys,” He said, “Let’s be young and done. We should go around Baltimore and forget about life for a moment. I’m bored of it and I’m sure that you are too. So, let’s leave it all behind. Just for tonight.”

“Let’s do it.” Sebastian smiled.

“Where should we go though?” I asked, a bit intrigued.

“Ooh, The Baltimore Skyline! It’s amazing. My dad used to take me up there all the time. I miss it.” Colin ran his hand up to his hair.

“Baltimore Skyline it is.” Sebastian said while leading us to his car.

We drove there feeling the excitement. We were always so boring, that stuff like this was always so fun to do. Nothing was better than having my best friends around. We were singing around while laughing. Colin turned on Backseat Serenade because it was his favorite song from All Time Low and everyone sang it out loud.

The drive to our destination didn’t take that long. Once we got there, we quickly went to the top. The wind was undefeatable. It was strong, but nice. Colin even had some jokes to share. Our night was filled with laughter and joy. Graham was right. We were boring. We needed a little adventure, no matter how small of an adventure it was. We all just craved for it and now that we are having a little fieldtrip of our own, neither of us wanted it to end.
