Everything's Magic

The Hill

Alex

"Hey, Alex, why don't you go hang out with Zack or something?" Isobel sighed, placing the mail that came through the post on the table. Alex rolled his eyes dramatically, placing his hands on his hips.

"Fine." He grumbled, giving in and grabbing his coat, placing a beanie on top of his scruffy pink hair. He grabbed his bike from the hallway, finding it difficult to open the front door while his hand was shaking, holding the bike bar.

"For Fuck sake!" He stressed, pushing the bike to the wall with rage. He ripped open the front door, it bashing against the wall.

"What in the hell do you think you're doing, Alexander?!" His mum shouted from the kitchen, obviously hearing the door crash against the wall. Alex most likely put a crack in the door or wall. He groaned, picking his bike up and quickly shooting out the door. He slammed the door shut, jumping on his bike.

He started to pedal down the quiet, strange street. He wasn't quite sure where he was going, but where ever he goes, he wants it to take things off his mind. The weather was clear, the sky was clear, the streets were clear. Everything was clear except from his mind. A lot has been going on lately: his mother falling out with his father, Tom starting to drink out of control and a whole lot more. All he needed was something or someone to get his mind off these things, somewhere where he could do anything he wanted.

He turned a corner slowly, looking straight ahead to see a nice, rich area. He continued to bike down the wealthy street, it all being new to him; he just moved here a month ago and hasn't been out much. As he looked up further, he could see a hill. He frowned, debating on going to the pretty place or not. The hill didn't even look that steep, so why not? It also looks relaxing and peaceful, and that's exactly what he needed.

He hummed along to "Breathe" by Angles and Airwaves, nodding his head side to side a little as his on drum beats were playing in his head. He was now finally at the start of that admirable, elegant hill. Trees were against the stone-y pathway. Everywhere he looked were trees and luminous coloured, green grass. Everything here looked so perfect.

There seemed to be nobody around the place as he bike further up the hill. Just the wind gently pressing against the healthy leaves of the trees and Alex's peddling could be heard. As Alex focused a bit further up the hill, he could see a massive house by itself.

Surely it must be boring living up there with no one around.

He though before shaking his head, turning a corner. As he turned the corner, he could see a bridge. He smiled, biking over to it to take a rest. Alex did bike a lot, but of course, like it would for everyone else, it tried him out. As he got to the bridge, he placed his bike on the floor, walking over to the concrete ledge. He hummed softly to himself, propping his legs over the edge. He looked below him, seeing a crystal-clear stream. He could see the stones that lay peacefully under the stream. His dangled legs started to swing, his hands placed nicely on his lap. He continued to hum to himself, the birds happily tweeting along. The weather began to get more better; it became more cooler. He made a mental note to remember to come here again, because he truly thought it was beautiful.

After sitting there in silence, he saw his old newspaper-round bag on his bike. He frowned, looking at it. He was sure he had left somethings in there. He turned his body around so his feet hit the path safely. He then got up and couched down to bike that was dismounted onto the door. He opened the neon orange bag, seeing his umbrella, art book and some pens and pencils. He shrugged his shoulders, grabbing the stuff that lucky hadn't broken, and placed them onto the floor around him. He grabbed his umbrella, twisting and turning into the air, letting it dance. He got up himself, opening the umbrella and doing a silly dance for no reason.

He had found the place where he could do anything he wanted without getting judged.

He laughed, kicking his legs in the air and dancing like the people from the 30s'.

After a while of messing around with his umbrella, he closed it up again, panting slightly. He placed the black umbrella back into his newspaper bag. He then picked up his art book, walking over to the bridge ledge. He plopped the art book on the ledge and then got on it, himself. He positioned himself so he was laid on his belly, his arms in front of him. The bridge ledge was wide, so he was sure he wouldn't fall. He began waving his legs in the air, thinking of something to draw. He looked around him, his pencil on his lips as he hummed onto it.

"So many good things out here to draw, but, what part?" He asked himself, his eyes still looking around the place. Finally, his eyes caught onto something interesting. It was the big house he saw on his way up. It was far away from him and he reminded himself to go have a closer look at the mansion-type house. He took his sharp pencil away from his mouth and set it down onto the pencil. As he was drawing, he couldn't help but think why someone would live all the way up here. Maybe an elderly couple lived up there, away from noisy kids and set upon freedom of a quiet area.

"Maybe I should send this to them when I'm finished?" He hummed, nodding, glancing back at the house that looked more like a mansion.

Notes

Oh my god. I have made another fanfic ;-; This one is for when I have writers block for my other stories. This fic is probably not going to have many chapters. yeah, it's based on Everything's Magic by Angels And Airwaves. I just got the idea as I was laughing at the video. XD The umbrella bit makes Alex seem so so so gay, well, he is. Cx Oh god, this is a long author's note. Okay, I hope you enjoy this as much as my other stories. If not, then that's fine. :D
