Guts

Even though Jack and I were back to being engaged, I wasn't going to immediately start planning a wedding.

Jack definitely agreed with me on that, and so we decided it would be a while before we actually did get married. I was still excited though, because I had Jack to myself.

"Jack... what do you wanna do today?" I groaned from the couch where I was hanging upside down, my feet in the air.

"I don't know, but that can't be comfortable," he said with a laugh. We were at his house with Jackie of course, and I was extremely bored.

"Of course it's comfortable, you dickhead!" I yelled as he retreated to the kitchen. I folded my arms over my chest and huffed, looking up at Jackie who was laughing and sitting right next to where I was.

"Don't go around saying that, okay?" I asked her, and she nodded with a grin.

"Good. What do you want to do?" I asked.

"Can we go to the zoo?" She asked. I smiled. Why hadn't I thought of that?

"Of course. Jack! We're going to the zoo!" I yelled. I heard a faint reply back, and I tried to get up, but I couldn't. I was too weak. I heard Jack laugh at my feeble attempts at getting up, and before I knew it, I was standing on my feet.

"Thanks baby," I grinned, kissing his cheek. I grabbed my things, and we left.

We made it to the zoo in about an hour. Jack pulled into a parking space, and I unbuckled my seatbelt. Jack killed the engine, grabbed his keys and wallet, and we both got out of the car. I collected Jackie out of the back, and Jack locked the car. Jackie gripped my hand, and we both followed Jack up to the entrance.

He paid for two admission tickets, and since Jackie was under the age of twelve, she got in free.

"So, where are we headed first?" Jack asked as he grabbed my left hand. I looked up at him and shrugged.

"Jackie, where do you want to go first?" I asked, and she pointed over to the flamingos. I smiled, and she lead me and Jack over to them. Since there were already people looking at them, Jack decided to lift Jackie up onto his shoulders so she could see.

"Daddy! Look at that one!" She shrieked, making me laugh as Jack grinned.

"I see him, baby girl!" He laughed. It took another ten minutes, but Jackie got bored of the flamingos, so we went to look at the hippos. It was the same pattern: we'd look at the animals for about ten minutes, then we'd move on to something different.

After looking at the tigers, Jackie started complaining that she was hungry, so we walked around, trying to find the restaurant that I knew was somewhere. We found it eventually, but it was packed.

"How about we go home for lunch?" I asked Jack, and he agreed, so we all left the zoo.

Once home, Jack got set on making hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch while I invited Stephanie over. I hadn't seen her in a while, so inviting her over sounded like a good idea.

When she arrived, I engulfed her in a hug, making sure I didn't squeeze her too tight.

"Oh my gosh! How are you!?" I asked as I lead her inside. She placed herself on the couch and took a deep breath.

"I'm good. These two make me want to just full on stop what I'm doing and take a nap, but other than that I'm good," she said, rubbing her belly.

"Did you say two? You're having twins?" I asked, my eyes wide. She nodded.

"What are the genders?" I asked.

"Boy and a girl," she said. I smiled.

"Hey Steph!" Jack announced as he entered the living room with a cuttingboard.

"Hey Jack!" She exclaimed.

"Are hamburgers and hotdogs good for you?" He asked her, and she nodded.

Today was a good day.
