Chapter Forty-One: The Storm
-Two Weeks Later-
"Are you packed for tour yet, Jack!?" I asked.
He was rushing around, picking up items & setting them back down again in other places. I had Jackie on my hip, & we were both watching him in amusement.
"Does it look like I'm packed yet?" He asked.
"No," I stated bluntly. He glared at me, & I just laughed. The laughter quickly faded though. He was gonna be gone for about three months, & their only Baltimore show was the last one. I also had to drive him to the Airport, & for the first time, he was boarding a plane without me there by his side.
When he was finally ready, the three of us headed out to my truck. I buckled Jackie into the back while Jack got in the passenger seat after putting his things in the very back. I got into the driver's seat, & I stuck the key in the ignition, & I turned it, starting the engine. I looked at Jack sadly, & he placed his hand on my thigh & squeezed gently, letting me know everything would be okay.
~~
"I'm gonna miss you," I told Jack. Jackie was on my hip once again, & the guys were watching us say goodbye.
"You'll be fine without me, I promise. Three months isn't that bad, Becca. I'll be back before you know it," he said, placing one hand on my uncovered hip. He pulled me closer, & I wrapped my free arm around his neck, & Jackie rested her head on his chest.
"Doesn't mean I won't miss you," I whispered, & I pressed my lips to his in a loving kiss.
"Yeah!! Get some, Jack!!" Alex yelled, which was followed by a wolf-whistle. I pulled away from him laughing as I rested my head on his chest as well. Jack hugged me tight, swaying me back & forth slightly. I stepped out of the embrace, & Jack pressed a light kiss to my lips.
"I love you, Jack," I said.
"I love you too, Rebecca. I love both of you, so much," he said, a hint of seriousness in his voice. I smiled.
"Go on, get out of here. I don't want to be the one who makes you miss your flight," I said. Jack smiled & kissed Jackie's forehead before pressing one last kiss to my lips. He picked up his luggage & walked off towards the guys, all of them with huge grins on their faces. I looked at Jackie & smiled.
"You ready to go home?" I asked her.
"Yeah," she said quietly. I looked at Jack one last time, & blew him a kiss.
"Can you blow daddy a kiss?" I asked Jackie who laughed & copied what I did. I smiled as I watched her, & I felt so lucky to have her. Jack waved to me, & turned around & walked away. I sighed. I already missed him. I turned & started to walk away, until I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see an unfamiliar face staring back at me.
"It is you!" She exclaimed.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"Sorry.. I'm uh, I'm a huge fan of you & Jack, & of course All Time Low.. & I saw you guys say goodbye, & it was cute," she said. I smiled.
"Yeah... um, what's your name?" I asked.
"Ruby.. I have a question.. are you not working for the band this tour?" She asked.
"No I'm not. I sort of... I guess, have other things to take care of," I said. Her eyes flickered over to Jackie & she smiled.
"Who's this!?" She asked in excitement.
"This is Jackie. My daughter," I said with a proud smile as I looked at my beautiful daughter.
"She's not Jack's," she stated.
"Not biologically, but yes, she's his.. if that makes any sense," I said. Ruby nodded.
"Well, I'll let you get going. It was great talking to you," Ruby said.
"Same," I replied with a smile, & she walked off. I did the same, maneuvering out of the Airport as best I could with a child on my hip.
When we got home, I put on a movie for Jackie because she was bored, but I gave her her coloring book as well.
Now what was I supposed to do?
