You Had Me At Hello

"I hate shopping for dresses" I sighed as Holly and I walked into the fifth shop today
"So do I, but we need to look un-fucking-believable" she laughed and linked her arm in mine. "So, what kind of dress do you want?" She asked
"I don't see why we need dresses if it's just a dance" I mumbled and Holly shook her head at me
"Babes" she joked. "I'll buy you a burger if you wear a dress" she smiled at me. I thought for a minute, I wasn't going to pass on free food now was I?!
"Fine. I'm just getting a skater dress though. Full fucking stop" I stuck my tongue out at her and went to find a dress.

After about five minutes looking, I found a dress that I actually liked.
"Hey, Holly" I called, behind my shoulder
"Mm hm?" She skipped up to me and I showed her the dress. "Get it. Now" she smiled at the dress then me. I laughed and went to try it on. The dress was just a plain red skater dress with a black bow belt, simple but nice. I decided I wasn't going to let anyone see the dress on till the night of the dance, not even Holly. I came out of the changing rooms with the dress in my hand. "Don't I get to see it?" Holly laughed
"You will. At the dance" I smiled and went to pay
"You fucker" she smiled and paid for her dress too.
"Can we go to one more shop then get food?" I asked as we walked out the dress shop
"Yeah, sure. Where though?" She asked me, I winked and started walking. "A tattoo shop?' Holly questioned when we got there
"A tattoo shop" I confirmed
"Why? What're you getting done?" She asked and we went into the shop
"Hi, how can I help you?" The woman behind the counter smiled at Holly and I
"What's the nearest day I can book to get a tattoo?" I smiled back. She checked the book in front of her
"Tomorrow morning at half past eleven" she replied. "Shall I book you in?" She then asked
"Yes please" I smiled and handed her a piece of paper. "That's what I want on my left arm" I told her
"Blink, nice choice" she nodded in approval. "What's your name so I can book it?"
"Rebecca Merrick" I said and she wrote it down
"Okay, we'll see you tomorrow at half eleven, Rebecca" the woman said and we left
"You're getting a tattoo" Holly jumped up and down in excitement as we walked down the street
"I am" I laughed. "Hey, can you come with me?" I asked her. She stopped jumping up and down and hugged me instead
"Duuh" she smiled and we started walking again.

"I'm home!" I shouted and stepped into the house. There was silence, which I didn't like. "Zack? Mom? Guys?" I called but still no reply. I went up to my room to put my dress away and came back down stairs. "Hello?!" I shouted.
"Hi" Alex smiled, tapping my shoulder. I screamed in fright
"What the fuck" I then laughed. "Where is everyone?" I smiled
"Downstairs. I came up to pee" he smiled and nodded
"Uhh..okay" I smiled back. "What you guys doing?" I asked and we headed downstairs
"Nothing in particular" Alex shrugged and we got to the basement.
"You really think she'll be happy you didn't tell her?" I heard a familiar voice laugh. I knew that voice.
"Frank!" I shouted and ran over to him, engulfing him in a hug. "I missed you" I smiled into his chest
"I missed you to Becks. How've you been?" He asked and we pulled away
"Great" I smiled. "You?" I asked
"Meh" he replied. "Hayley and I kinda fell out so she went to stay at her sister's who lives in California" he shrugged and I went to sit down beside Jack
"Aww man. That sucks Frankie" I said. "I'm sorry to hear that" I sympathetically said to him. He shrugged again
"Fuck it" he smiled
"When did you get here?" I asked him
"Today. Zack organised it all" Frank laughed and pointed to my brother
"And you didn't tell me!" I gasped. "Zack" I threw a pillow at him.
"It wasn't just me. Jack helped!' He blocked the pillow. I turned my body round to face Jack
"Jack" I raised an eyebrow and he smiled at me
"Yes?" He asked me
"Why didn't you tell me?" I pouted
"Well, you know I was but I thought nah" he pouted back. I crossed my arms over my chest in a pretend sulk and turned my back to him. "Becca?" He smiled. I shook my head, trying not to smile. "Come on. Smile for me" Jack grabbed me onto his lap and hugged me tight. "Smile" he pouted and I stayed 'sulking'. "Well then" he smiled and kissed me. He pulled away and kissed my cheek then my nose, then forehead. He put his forehead onto mine and looked into my eyes. He leaned in a bit then pulled away completely and started a conversation with Frank. In the middle of their conversation I pressed my lips to his before getting up and walking away.
"Two can play this game, Barakat" I winked and walked up the stairs to my room.
