A Casual Affair
Barakat Blessings
Once Cass left, Holly was left on her own in the bedroom, trying to block out all of conversations she heard about herself coming from the living room. The only thing keeping her centered at the moment was the fact that after telling Cassadee the story about meeting Alex, she didn’t judge her. She understood and didn’t reprimand her about the bad decisions she made. Cass was definitely a friend to keep.
As she was channel surfing, Alex finally came through the door. Holly met his eyes and hoped he wasn’t going to give her bad news like Jack was kicking them out. “Hi …” She muttered, feeling guilty about spilling the beans.
Staying quiet, Alex padded over to where she sat on the bed and laid right beside her. “Hey,” he murmured as he ran his hand down her arm. Was he not mad at her? “I talked to the guys.”
“I’m sorry.” She rubbed at her eyes and sighed. “I got us kicked out, didn’t I?”
Alex chuckled softly, leaving Holly with a confused expression. “Actually, no. They’re surprisingly cool with everything.”
She furrowed her brow. “Are you serious?”
Alex nodded. “Jack has my back. Don’t worry.”
“Everything about this place is fucking weird.” Holly shook her head. “Everyone is cool about this. Back in Baltimore, everyone was up our asses. It’s weird to have this change.”
“Enjoy it while it lasts.” Alex laughed as he leant down to press his lips to hers, but that was just at the time that their door opened.
“God damn, can you two keep your hands off of each other?!”
Alex looked over his shoulder as Holly sat up from the bed’s soft cushions. “Fuck off, Jack.” Alex threw a pillow at him.
Jack struggled to catch the pillow. “While I ignore your rudeness,” the skunk-haired man chuckled, “I did come in here to tell both of you that I give you my blessing for your little relationship, but I’m not so sure about that idiot out there, Rian.”
“I HEARD THAT!” Rian’s voice echoed across the room.
Holly giggled. “Well, thank you, Jack. It really means a lot to us that you’d still let us stay here.”
“I just got one rule.” He held up one finger. “Remember, Alex: no angry parents.”
Alex flashed him a crooked smile as he repeated, “‘No angry parents.’”

Alex and Holly were surprisingly the last people to get up the next morning, when they’re usually always the first. Holly yawned as her and her boyfriend shuffled into the kitchen. Jack was already there, sitting comfortably on a seat at the island and enjoying a bagel. He grinned when he saw the couple. “Well, look who decided to get up.”
Alex gave his friend the finger while walking to the enormous rows of cabinets. “You have cereal?”
“Yeah, top shelf to the right,” Jack nodded.
Alex found a box of Lucky Charms and shook it in front of Holly, who sat at the island across from Jack. “Want some?” Holly nodded quickly with a smile.
“So, I’ve been thinking all night.” Jack announced.
“Oh, no,” Alex laughed.
“Shut up!” The skunk-haired friend exclaimed. “Anyways, since I don’t exactly know how long you guys are staying, I feel maybe you two should try to make a living while you’re here.”
Alex put a bowl of cereal in front of Holly as she asked, “What did you have in mind?”
“You guys could start working at my guitar shop,” he suggested.
Before Holly could reply, Alex cut in. “I don’t know, man.” He took a seat beside Holly. “Who knows what might happen if we really start working publicly? Someone we know could find us.”
“Alex,” Holly frowned, “we’re farther away from Baltimore than we could ever be. I highly doubt someone will find us”
Jack looked back and forth from the couple in front of him. “So …?”
Alex was about to speak, but Holly responded before him with a smile: “We’d love to.”
Notes

So I just stumbled across this story and its prequel; I started reading the prequel yesterday, actually. I caught up with everything you have and I must say, I really like it so far. I've read Alex/OC student/teacher stories before but they're always different. I like the way you took yours. :)
I'm sad it was never continued, though. If you ever choose to finish this story, I will be here to read. :) I just wanted to comment to let you know that. I think you're a great wrier. :D
I love Alex and Holly together. I realize something else needed to be done to the plot to add something to it, ergo the Hayley and Brendon group-together thing, but I think they should just come to realize that Alex and Holly just want to be together. But I realize that wouldn't really make sense just yet. Idk. But yeah, it just aggravates me how they're just assuming something's wrong. :/
But anyway, lol, yeah... I would still like reading this story if it continued. :) Maybe this comment will inspire you. <3
