Summary
"I hate him so much, Jack. He makes me want to gouge my fuckin' eyes out!" I say through the microphone of my laptop. Jack's face instantly spreads into a grin and his laugh echoes through my headphones. I can't help but to smile at him through the screen. His laugh can put anyone in a better mood.
"You're ridiculous, Lexy. You can't hate your dad thatmuch. I mean I know he's mean but-"
"You don't understand and I don't expect you to. There's more going on than I can tell you, really. He's just... He's never been the same since my mum died, Jack. He used to give a shit about me... Himself even. He didn't drink himself into oblivion every chance he got. I fucking hate him. I hate him so much." I feel the tears begin to prick my eyes and I quickly blink them away, hoping Jack didn't see.
"I'm so sorry, Alex. If I could get a plane ticket to Essex just to see you I would. I wish I could help you." He bites his bottom lip and glances around his room. I roll my eyes and groan, running my hands over my face before looking back into the camera.
"Jack... I've told you more times than I can even begin to count. You can't help me... No one can help me. I'm a lost cause, you know? I'm fine anyways. Don't worry."
"Stop saying that, Alex! I can help you! You just have to let me into that crazy head of yours." He mumbles the last part and looks down at his lap. I swear I see him start shaking and I bite my lip, trying to come up with the right thing to say. I glance over the tabs I have open on my computer and smile.
"Hey... Chin up, darling. We'll meet one day. Soon. I promise."

Ever since Jack and Alex began talking through Facebook they've been close. They tell each other their deepest, darkest secrets. well the inspiration behind the fic in the first place was mine and my friend's (the girl who was actually cowriting this with me at one point) friendship online. We have yet to meet, but it'll happen someday :-P
