Somewhere in Brooklyn

Somewhere in Brooklyn

Alex

Night had blanketed Brooklyn when Jack and the guys decided to drag me out of my comfy hotel room and into the bustling nightlife. I was exhausted from performing just an hour ago and wanted nothing more than too snuggle up with my pillow and sleep but the other three hooligans that make up All Time Low thought otherwise. They wanted to celebrate, we had just finished up our Don’t Panic Tour. I on the other hand wanted to sleep, we had just performed the last show, the hardest and longest shoe, for our Don’t Panic Tour. Do you see the difference?

“Hurry up! Come on! Come on!” Jack beckoned. He tugged at my arm eagerly, weaving me through the large mass of people. He reminded me somewhat of a child, a five year old to be exact. Pulling his mother, that would be me, to get ice cream.

He turned to me with “Come on Lexy! Come on!”

A small, raspy chuckle escaped my parched throat “I’m coming! I’m coming! Calm your hinny down Jacky! I’m pretty sure the clubs not going to get up and walk away.”

Though, I really wish it would. I’m not in the mood for clubbing tonight. Well, let me scratch that, I’m never in the mood for clubbing. It’s just no fun, especially when your band mates try to hook you up with random girls. Now it wouldn’t be so bad if there wasn’t one little problem. I’m not exactly attracted to girls. Don’t think I’m saying that I’m gay because I’m not. I’m not gay. I refuse to believe that I am. But I may or may not find some dudes attractive. Though Jack, Rian and Zack didn’t know that and I, Alexander William Gaskarth plan to keep it that way.

We barged into the building, well rather Jack, Rian and Zack barged into the building. I merrily slumped in behind them slowly but surely migrating over towards the bar. This is what I always did. Got to the bar by myself, took a few drinks and then ditched the club when the others forgot about me.

“Can I get a Bloody Mary?” I shout to the bartender who furrowed her eyebrows in response

“Sure bout that little guy?” She question. I shot her a don’t push it look and she laughed. “I just tend to make very strong Bloody Marys.”

“That’s a plus in my eyes.” I state. She slides the drink over to me and I gulp it down.

“You’re not from around here.” She says. I’m not sure if it’s a question or a statement

I smirk “And you must be from around here to know I’m not from around here.”

“God you act just like my younger brother.” She rolls her eyes and smiles. “Just identical .”She eyed me cautiously before a mischievous grin formed on her face “I feel like you’d like him……you’d like him a lot.”

I slide the cup to her with a smile “Got to meet the guy. If he’s anything like me then he must be amazing.”

“Speaking of the devil.” She says with an expressionless face. “There he is now.”

I turned around and was met with by far the most beautiful creature on this planet. His caramel skin tone glowed brightly. His wore a sleek black leather jacket with black skinny jeans. I took notice of the way his white v neck clung perfectly to his toned chest. The gold necklace he wore hung gracefully. He had style but that’s not all he had

He had those blue eyes that shinned brightly like diamonds being held up to the sun. I gasped at them, they surprised me by there beauty. He surprised me by his beauty, he is the definition of a gorgeous man if there is one.

“I’m guessing you like what you see.” He states. A sexy smirk appears on his face.

I rolled my eyes lifting the glass to my mouth to take a sip of the bitter sweet drink “Well aren’t you a cocky bastard.”

“Hmmmm.” He rested his chin in his hands as if he was deep in thought. “ I’m gonna take that as a compliment.”

I raised my eyebrows “Well you must not get to many compliments do you hun.”

“Nah, not too many!” He twirled around in the barstool. “Just the occasional gawk or stare.”

“You right! You right! But then again I’m not ugly like you so they wouldn’t stare in horror.” I chuckle.

He rolls his eyes “Trying to be funny I see.”

I shrug my shoulder with a chuckle “I’m a funny guy.”

“If by funny you mean funny looking….” He looks me in the eyes with that all too famous smirk. Boy, if I could just kiss that smirk off his face. “Then yes Gaskarth, you are pretty funny.”

A witty reply was about to pop out my mouth when Jack walked up behind me. “Alex! There’s like four sexy babes over there…..they said they want a good time tonight.”

“No! Jack!” I groaned. My hand flew to my face and dragged downward. Not again, not a fucking gain. “Just! No!”

Jack pouted. He started jumping up and down “Oh come one Lexy don’t be a party pooper.”

John smirked at me “Yeah Lexy, don’t be a party pooper.”

“You shut the hell up!” I grumble sending John into a fit of laughter. I have to admit that it was cute. I turned my attention to Jack “I’m not banging those girls. The end.”

“Fine! Miss all the fun! ” He says running off to the direction he came from. He stopped and then turned around “You’re sexual frustration is going to be the end of you Alex.”

I sighed. I let my head fall to the bar. I knew this would happen. They always tried to hook me with girls. I wouldn’t mind a hook up, though I rather have an actual relationship with actual feelings. But, they’re just trying to hook me up with someone that I’m just not attracted too. Sorry Jacky boy but it just doesn’t work like that.

“They don’t know do they?” The boy questioned beside me.

I looked up at him. My eyebrows knitted in confusion “Know what?”

“That you’re gay.” He took a sip of his drink, it’s strong. I can smell the putrid stench from over here. Is he even old enough to drink? He looks young, but mature. I’m normally good at guessing ages of people, but I can’t quite guess his. He sat the glass down before turning to me. “They don’t know that you’re gay.”

I looked down at my hands avoiding his eyes. “I’m…..I’m not.”

“You’re the worst liar ever.” He laughed. My gaze remained fixed on my hands. “I can tell that you’re gay just like you can tell that I’m underage drinking.”

“So you are underage drinking?.” I jerked my head up to be met by his charming smile. I furrowed my eyebrows. “How’d you know I was thinking about that anyway?”

“I turn twenty-one tomorrow so ehh….” He shrugged his shoulders. “ And you speak your thoughts out loud.” I nodded my head before looking down at my feet. “You’re going to keep on denying it huh?”

“Happy early birthday!” I say trying to change the subject

He laughs. His head shakes lightly “I’m not that gullible. So like I said…..you’re really going to keep on denying it?”

“I’m not gay.” I sated getting rather annoyed by the youngster

He stood up and made his way over to me. I was roughly pushed so that my back was against the bar and he positioned his body so that it was between my legs. My breathing hitched immediately at the contact. His hand went to my face his thumb trailing my chin leaving goose bumps in the wake. John started leaning forward and I closed my eyes anticipating his next move.

And that’s when it happened, our lips connected. It didn’t feel awkward. It didn’t feel weird. It didn’t feel wrong though I knew deep down it was. It felt so right. My arms absentmindedly clasped around his neck pulling him deeper into the kiss. His hands went to my waist were he pulled me closer to him. I savored this feeling for I’d never felt anything like it before.

“Ahemm.” Someone grunted causing us to pull away. I looked up to see John’s sister smiling “Well it looks like I was right. You too would like each other.” I could feel my cheeks heat up I looked away. A giggle escaped her mouth “Aww he blushed.”

“Naiomi stop!” He chuckled. “You’re embarrassing him.”

She pinched my cheek. “Well it was cute.” She turned to her brother “So are you ready to go?”

He face fell lightly. “Ummm yeah, I guess.” She turned around and made her way out the door. He stood there a few seconds before finally speaking. “I guess I’ll see you around sometime.”

“Yeah! I guess so.” I smiled.

He nodded his head “Alright, I’ll see you around Gaskarth.”

“You could just call me Alex you know.” I say with a smirk

He turned around walking backwards towards the door “And you could just call me sexy but you don’t now do you?”

“Touché” I say with a slight eye roll “Though it would help if you were actually sexy.”

He raised his eyebrows “Going there again Gaskarth. Do I have to make a point to you again.” My cheeks heated up at the thought of the kiss. I actually wouldn’t mind if he did it again. He sneered proudly “Didn’t think so.”

“John David Hilliat!” Naiomi screamed. My hand flew to my mouth as I doubled over in laughter.

“Not my whole name dammit.” He whispered. A sad smile appeared on his gorgeous face “Until next time Gaskarth.”

“Until next time Hilliat.” I stated. He smiled at me before opening the door and walking out into the cold

I sat there in a daze until I realized that I didn’t get his number Fuck Alex you’re such a dumbass. I jump out the bar stool and run out the door. I get outside just in time to see his black mustang drive away. I watched it until it was a speck. All I could think about is would I ever see him again. I hoped in all my heart that I would and I knew that if I was to see him again it would be somewhere…
