The City Comes Alive When We're Together

After getting some, but only little rest at the hospital for the first time with Amy, we get up and order breakfast before people will be showing up to see the baby. Megan and I are in the best moods we could ever be in as new parents. After our breakfast shows up, we begin to eat when someone knocks and Megan telling them to come in. In walks Alex, Zack, Rian, Katie, Tay and Cassadee and instant smiles and gasps are upon their faces.
"Oh my God, she's so cute and tiny!" Cassadee yells. "Can I hold her?" I then look over at Megan who has a huge smile on her face as she's holding Amy and still managing to eat.
"Of course. That might make it easier for me to eat anyway." Megan laughs. She then hands Amy to Cassadee and we watch as Cassadee squeals in excitement over her. As Megan and I continue to eat our breakfast, we watch as Amy gets passed around to everyone to take turns to be held.
"She's beautiful guys." Rian smiles while he's holding her.
"So, how does it feel being parents?" Tay asks.
"Weird." I laugh. "We love it already but it definitely doesn't feel real."
"I can imagine, bro." Alex says. "Congrats you guys."
"Thanks." Megan responds with a smile. After each of them take a turn holding her and hang out for a while, they decide to leave and give us some time alone with her again. But it wasn't long after they left before Megan's parents were here to visit.
"Let me see my beautiful grand-daughter!" Megans mom says trying not to cry as she walks into the room. As soon as they're all in the room, Megan hands Amy off to her mom. We continue to talk with them and I notice that Megan's mom is crying.
"You ok Mrs. Reid?" I ask smiling.
"Yes, I just can't believe how beautiful she is and how well you guys did." She says under her tears. "I'm so sorry for underestimating your abilities to raise her Megan."
"It's fine mom. Don't worry about it." She smiles. Her family takes turns holding Amy and I watch as they all are excited with her and her mother is taking as many pictures as possible. As it comes time for us to order her lunch, her family decides to leave to run the rest of their errands before going home. We finish our lunch as the nurses come in to check on Amy and make sure she's doing well. After about another hour, my parents come in to see her.
"Jack! She's beautiful!" My mom yells in excitement. "I have to send a picture to your sister. She wants to see her so bad!" That's when she takes a photo of Amy then sends it.
"So when do you guys get to go home?" My mom asks me while holding Amy.
"Tomorrow, I think." Megan answers. "If not, the day after that."
"So, her birthdate is March 27th. I'll have to write that down." My mother says randomly. Amy was born March 27th and is 7 pounds 9 ounces, and is 14 inches long. Needless to say, she's quite tiny. After a couple more hours, my parents leave and I order up dinner for Megan and I before spending our last night in the hospital before going home to our life of being a new family.
