The City Comes Alive When We're Together
Is It Time?

A couple weeks have passed since Jack and I's wedding and it still doesn't seem real to me. I am still in shock with the fact that Jack is now my husband and always will be even though we just met a year ago. I am now 39 weeks along and only have to wait 1 more week for my other dream to come true, that being to finally meet my daughter.
The last couple of days I have been having some bad contractions, but none that have been unbearable. While I hate the contractions and hope they don't get any worse, I also enjoy them because they remind me of how much closer I am to meeting my baby, and I really feel like I can't wait any longer to see her.
Within this last 2 weeks since our wedding, Jack and I managed to throw together a small baby shower for the friends and family, mainly because they're the ones who wanted us to throw one and managed to convince us to do it. With the exception of what everyone got us at the baby shower, Jack and I have been doing a lot of last minute shopping. We bought very many things, but all of it is for the baby and no one else. We bought a few outfits, diapers, wipes, bottles, formula, the whole bit.
"Good morning baby doll. What's up?" Jack asks me as he wakes up and notices me sitting in bed staring off into space. "You look like you're thinking about something."
"I am." I smile. "I'm thinking about the baby. I really can't wait to see her. I just want her to be here already."
"I know, me too baby." He says. "We don't have to wait much longer." He then give me a kiss and I lean back onto the bed. I allow for us to kiss repeatedly and I try to get my tongue into his mouth.
"You sure you want to go there babe?" Jack asks as he stops us from kissing. "Won't this make the baby get here sooner?"
"It might, but hey why not do this one last time before she gets here?" I flirt giving him a wink, kissing him repeatedly. After some time, I put my hands under his shirt and onto his chest.
"Damn, frisky are you?" He flirts.
"Maybe." I smile, continuing to kiss him. We continue to make out, and just when we start to feel each other up, considering to go farther, I get a really bad cramp and stop myself from going any farther or from doing what we've been doing.
"Is something wrong baby?" Jack asks me concerned.
"I'm just having a contraction, that's all." I groan under my breath.
"You sure?" He asks me. Seconds later, the pain starts to lessen.
"Yeah, I'm fine." A few hours pass and we are watching television. "I'm hungry."
"Well, I get something for you, hun." Jack says to me sweetly. "What do you want?"
"Do we have oreos?" I ask laughing. "I'm craving them really bad right now." I watch as he opens the pantry and looks around.
"Um, no we don't." He looks at me making a sad face. "Want me to go get you some?"
"Oh, hun you don't have to do that." I smile.
"No, I'm going to go get you some." He tells me. "You stay here and stay comfortable. I'll be back soon." He gives me a kiss and walks out.
An hour passes and Jack is still out getting my oreos. I start to get another contraction, as usual. I usually don't get them this close together. After a few minutes, when I would expect it to start going away, the pain instantly gets worse. To the point where I instantly curl up in fetal position holding my stomach doing everything not to burst into tears, though I am barely suceeding. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, a pain shoots through my body, causing me to scream out. I pull out my phone and dial up Jack's number.
