The City Comes Alive When We're Together

As I find somewhere to put all my things as I unpack, I start to think about living here. I never thought this would happen, especially when I'm still in school. Just then, I see Jack's mom walk into his room.
"Hey, sweetheart. How you feeling?" She asks me as she sits on his bed. "Where's Jack?"
"He's in the bathroom. I feel awful. I just can't believe they actually kicked me out." I tell her starting to tear up.
"Yeah, why did they do that?"
"Because of the baby thing. They told me they won't be able to help me." I answer.
"That's not a good reason. Are they at least going to keep in touch with you?" This was the longest conversation I ever had with anyone in Jack's family, in fact it's the only conversation I've really had with any of them.
"Yes, but I just won't be living with them." I respond.
"Well, we're supportive of you." She says as she gives me a hug as Jack walks back into the room. "I'll leave you guys alone for the night. If you ever need me, you can talk to me hun."
"Thanks." I say as she leaves the room.
"What was that about?" Jack asks me.
"She was just asking me what happened and we talked. I feel better now." I explain.
"Good. She'll be here for you." He answers. After we get dressed for bed, we decide to go to sleep.
A couple weeks pass and graduation is in just a couple days. I wake up and walk out of Jack's room with some of my things to go take a shower. Just as I'm about to open the bathroom door, an unfamiliar girl comes out of the room.
"Oh geez, you scared me." She laughs. "Are you Megan?"
"Yeah, are you May?" I ask.
"Yes, I've heard so much about you." She smiles. She looks almost exactly like Jack, only female. "Just know I'm here for you if you ever need anything."
"Thanks." I smile. I walk into the bathroom and take a shower, get dressed and all the other things I needed to do to look decent. I walk out of the bathroom and back into Jack's room and lay next to him in bed.
"I saw your sister." I tell him. "She seems nice."
"Yeah, I figured you would say that." He answers. The next couple days pass and it is now Graduation Day, one of the most important days of our lives.
