Alex and Jack were laying on the older boys bed and watching just shoot me and Alex was grabbing his phone that had just rung in his pocket.

"Hey, Jack do you wanna hang out with Rian and Cassadee tonight? There's a party at Holly's house and I think it would be cool to go."

"As long as you control your emotions though, sure. I could use a drink...... or like thirty."

Alex ran downstairs to ask his mum and dad if he could go to the party. After about ten minutes, Jack got a bit bored and went down the striped stairs and heard Peter Gaskarth asking.

"Will there be drinking at this party?"

Alex replied quickly. "Yes, probably but you know how responsible I am. It's at Rian's (Alex lied) you know that I'll just spend the night there if I get to out of control. When I wake up feeling sober enough to drive home I'll come home. You know that I don't do anything stupid. It's nice to unwind sometimes mum and dad."

"Alex, we don't care just don't and I MEAN DO FUCKING NOT! Come back fucked up on anything. You can drink, we give consent." Spoke Peter. Jack walked down the rest of the stairs.

"Has Jack asked his parents yet?" Isobel Gaskarth asked.

"No ma'am I haven't I didn't know how they would even know I'm gone. They're in Kuwait right now on business. They are rarely home. So I'm sure they won't mind."

"Jack dear would you like to have lunch with our family? Since you can't eat with yours, I'd be more than accommodating."

"Isobel," Peter spoke in a soft tone, and gave her a stern look.

Jack looked around the room glancing at the silverwear sitting in front of him, playing with the sleeve of Alex's sweatshirt. He felt awkward and like he didn't belong in the one house that had made him feel welcome the last four years.

Isobel took a deep long sigh, looked at her husband of 25 years, looked at the only son she had left and looked at the boy who had been like a son to her the last four years.

"I'm sorry boys, I just lost it. I would love to make you all lunch."

About an hour later, Mrs. Gaskarth had set the table full of Maryland crabcakes, a bowl of cut chicken and cubed cheese with mayonaise and peas. She had grilled zucchini from an inside kitchen grill and deep fried mushrooms.

The three men were sitting in the livingroom of the small house on Pot Spring road, when the woman called them into the dining-room.

"BOYS! LUNCH IS READY!!!"

The two teenagers rushed into the room while Peter staggered his way across the house into the dining room. Jack and Alex sat down next to each other and started digging into the pasta-salad, and crab cakes. Jack shoved a mushroom into his mouth while digging into the zucchni. Peter was sitting at the table waiting for the two boys.

"Alex, Jack" Isobel paused, "That's enough, other people have to eat also, you two are acting like you haven't eaten in a week." The two boys stopped and looked at their plates, she was right.

"Sorry mum, your food is just so good! I love this pasta shit!"

"ALEXANDER!" Peter looked at the boy in cross manner.

"Sorry dad.." Alex said looked down in shame.

Isobel sat down once Peter had gathered his food, and she started to grab some mushrooms and zuccini.

"So Jack, what kind of business do your parents do?" Peter asked.

"Well my mom and dad are in sales from Lebanon still. They work for my uncle who runs a giant corperation in the cities. They've been working for him for like twenty years. We live near Baltimore prep. My dad wanted me to go there, but I refused because both my siblings went there and they came back stuck up twats."

"Well that's nice" Mrs. Gaskarth grinned.
