Me Without You

I got my car

I crushed Jasey against me and buried my face in her hair. She had only been gone four days but I had missed her like crazy. Jasey reached up on her toes and grabbed my face, smashing kisses against my lips.
“I- Have- Missed- You- So- Much.” I squeezed a word in between each kiss. Jasey pulled away softly and smiled at me.
“Jacky, we’re having twins.” I beamed at her and placed a hand on her stomach. “How on earth are we going to cope with twins?”
“I’ve spoken to everybody about that already.” I smiled, leading her over to the couch and bundling her up in my lap so that her head rested against my chest. “After this UK tour, we’re going to take a break so I can be here with you and make sure I’m here when the babies come.” Jasey jerked up and stared at me wide-eyed.
“No way. The band is no going on hiatus because of this.” I shook my head quickly to get the idea out of hers.
“No, no, not hiatus. Hell no.” She breathed a sigh of relief and sunk back against me. “We’re going to take a break from touring for a year to write a new album and we’re going to do it from Baltimore so I can stay with you and I don’t have to fly off to record.” I kissed her forehead and she let out a small hum as she grinned.
“This is actually happening.” Jasey marvelled, looking around the room and then out the corner to her car which now sat on my drive-way. “Now that my cars here I have no qualms about living back in Baltimore.” I laughed at how easily satisfies she could be sometimes and picked her up bridal style and carried her squealing up the stairs. “Jack! Put me down!”

~Jasey’s POV~
Jack set me down in front of one of the guest bedrooms and squeezed my hand.
“We all pitched in and made you a surprise.” He leaned down and whispered in my ear. He pointed towards the doorknob and I couldn’t help but laugh at it.
“Is that the doorknob from Alice in Wonderland?” I giggled as I reached out to turn it and Jack nodded. I pushed the door open and gasped at what I saw, it was beautiful. The walls were a soft blue grey and were expertly decorated with small Disney characters. Two black wooden cribs lined part of the left wall with a small bookcase separating them. There was a black rectangle above each bed, which I assumed was to write the child’s name in. There were two huge grey arm chairs in each of the far corners, decorated with cushions and stuffed animals were scattered about the feet. The right wall had a number of toys such as a dolls house and a rocking horse, a pile of brightly coloured wooden blocks, and a large set of drawers. Shelves had been put up in every single corner and I swear I could see pictures peeking out behind some of the books and supplies. I moved a box of baby wipes to see piglet with his head in a jar of honey. “Jack, this is breath taking.” I whispered, walking further into the room and leaning back against his chest as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
“Do you like it? Cause I think the boys, Sam and May will flip their shit if they find out they did all this work for nothing.” Jack laughed and I turned around and reached up on my toes to peck his lips.
“I love it, thank you.” Jack smiled and pressed his lips gently to my forehead before beginning a conversation that would last for hours.

“No! No way.” I shook my head as I washed up tonight’s dishes. “There is no way I would ever call my son Abba.” Jack laughed at me from where he peered through his glasses at his laptop screen.
“Okay then, top ten boy’s names for this year.” He clicked on a link and scrunched his face up when he saw the results. “Liam, Noah, Oliver, Aiden, Asher, Owen, Benjamin, Declan, Henry and Jackson. I’m a rock star. I’m meant to name my kids something ridiculous like Rolls Royce or Zepplin. Not Owen.” I laughed and blew a cloud of bubbles at him to stop him complaining. He had started this naming business. We were damn going to finish it.
“I like the name Asher.” I pouted and he simple flipped me off.
“Over used.” I sighed and pulled a packet of milk duds out of the refrigerator and sat down on the stool next to Jack and started to munch down. “How about Levi?” I shook my head. Nope, I wanted to steer far away from the stereotypical biblical names.
“Don’t you have any cute Lebanese names in mind?” I asked, spinning round on my stool to face him. He pushed his glasses up his nose and took a sip of his coffee as he shrugged.
“Kind of. But I only like it as a middle name.” I gestured for him to go ahead and actually tell me and he rolled his eyes. “Rayan. R-a-y-a-n.” I smiled to myself. I actually quite liked that. “It means king.”
“Oh great.” I cheered, clapping my hands together. “He can be the next Elvis or Michael Jackson.” Jack took his glasses off and laughed.
“Shit, I really hope its two girls now.” He grumbled, sticking his tongue out at me for mocking his idea.
“I’d still keep it. I actually really like that name. It’s cute.” Jack looked up from where he had been playing with his mug and scrawled it down on the pad of paper we had been making notes on. We had a list of about seven boys names so far. I scanned over the collection and tried pairing them together in my head. “How about Rayan Harley?” I suggested before shaking my head at how it sounded out loud. “Ashlin? Ashlin Rayan?” Jack mulled it over before finally coming up with his own pairing.
“Alfie.” He smiled. That name wasn’t even on the list! “Alfie Rayan Barakat.” I giggled at his tacking of his last name on the end and smiled. I liked it.
“Alfie Rayan Barakat.” I repeated, liking the way it rolled off my tongue. “I like it.” Jack leaned over and kissed me before writing it down on a separate piece of paper.
“Girls.” He turned back to his computer and started to read out the top names from this year. “Charlotte.” No. “Amelia.” No. “Olivia.” No. “Ava.” No. “Aria?” I paused.
“I love that.” I wrote it down on our brainstorming pad in huge letters. Jack nodded in agreement and stole the pen in order to underline it. We went through name after name but finally agreed on Alfie Rayan and Amirah Niamh as our top two names. We were hoping for a boy and girl, but just in case we decided on Connor Hunter and Aria Scarlett as our second names.
“How soon can we find out?” Jack asked, his eyes glued to my tiny bump.
“Well, because I have to do that other test we’re not gonna speak about,” I mumbled to myself. “Grace said we can do a chromosome check when I’m 16 weeks.” Jack’s face went sour at the fleeting mention of the paternity test we had decided it was wise to do.
“We have to wait ten weeks?” I nodded and got up off the chair and chucked my mug of tea in the sink. Ten weeks of not knowing for absolute certain the fuck was the father of my children was.

Notes

@Evie
Ahh okay I get it :)

I really hope I didn't sound mean. If I didn't like your story I wouldn't have bothered. I just thought it was good enough for me to point out.

@we-forgot-monday
Hey :) I kind of wanted that to be the point. Jasey seems so perfect and everyone seems to like her so much that her downfall is how possessive she becomes over everyone. How they're her boys and no one else's unless she totally approves of them. I read a lot of fanfiction where the female is 'perfect' in a way and I wanted to try push that in a different way where her perfection and popularity is her downfall. For example, how she can't choose between Alex or Jack but still expects both of them to hang around for her and not move on, which ultimately all comes from her insecurity but we haven't got there yet ;) I'm starting to focus more on that side of the story now as its coming toward the end but I thought I should just put that out there and I'm really do apologise if it's unclear! The story did begin with a lack of character put into Jasey which I'm trying to slowly fix up through both the chapters coming up and the prequel.
Thanks for your comment!

I really don't mean to sound bitchy or mean but why does everyone like Jasey so much? What has she done? She seems kind of perfect, which seems kind of unrealistic. I haven't finished the story yet but does she have any flaws? Also why are they all her boys? Is no other female allowed to be a part of their lives but Jasey? This story is well written and there are certain parts of it that I really like, its just that those things don't really make sense. I really hope I didn't hurt your feelings or anything like that, because I am in no means a perfect writer, but I hope its like constructive criticism.

@Rebecca.Troy
Lets face it, there's never enough drama :)
