Alex climbs into the front seat.

"So, where to Alex?" I ask him, butterflies in my stomach.

"Well. I don't quite know." He realizes. "Anything in particular you want to do?"

I think for a little bit and realize no, there isn't. I'm just happy to be with him. I look down at my phone and see that it's 9:35.

"Well let's go get something to eat and find somewhere to eat it. Somewhere private." I suggest. Alex gives me a look. "To help mantain your "low profile" you smartass" I blush at him.

He laughs and takes off. "Anywhere you wanted to eat?"

"I honestly don't care. Whatever is cheapest and quickest. I'm pretty hungry." I say to him rubbing my tummy lightly. Alex smiles at me. "What?"

"Nothing." He says shaking his head.

I let it go and we pull up to a Wendy's. We place our orders, a burger and fries for me, and a chicken sandwhich and fries for Alex. As we pull up to pay, I realize we didn't get any drinks.

"Do you mind running into the CVS across the street?" Alex asks me. "I would do it myself, but I don't want to run into any fans or anything."

I roll my eyes at him. "You and your profile. You're crazy conceited." I joke with him. "Don't worry, I'll go in and get some."

We grab our food from the drivethrough, and drive up to the CVS. He hands me his card, asks for a root beer, and puts the car in park.

"I'll be back." I tell him, smiling.

I run inside and grab his drink, and grab a coke for me. As I approach the counter, I hear two girls talking nearby about All TIme Low.

"God I swear, I love Alex." The first girl says.

"Puh-lease. It's all about Jack." The other rolls her eyes.

"He has a girlfriend!" The first girl criticizes her. "At least Alex is single."

Not for long. I think to myself.

I pay for my stuff and walk out to the car. Alex is on his phone typing something. He sees me and plugs his phone into the cars charger.

"Hey you." He smiles at me.

"Let's get out of here. You have two fans in there that were fighting over who was cuter, you or Jack." I laugh.

"I TOLD YOU." Alex yells at me, grinning. We speed off and next thing I hear is, In one quarter of a mile, turn right.

"What the hell is that?" I ask him.

"My phone's GPS." Alex says secretly. "I found a place for us to go. But it's secret, so I'm not telling you until we get there.

I smile and start feeding Alex fries while munching on some myself. After about 10 minutes, we pull up to a giant grass hill.

"Didn't realize I was hiking tonight." I look at the hill, a little confused.

"Don't worry, you won't have to." Alex says turning off the car. He jumps out and opens my door for me. I grab the food bags and he motions for me to stay there. He turns around, so his back is facing me, and kneels down. "Hop on. You're going for a piggy back ride."

I crack up and hop on. He grabs the drinks out of the car while trying to balance me on his back. He trots up the hill with me on his back and drinks in hand. About 3/4 of the way up, he puts me down on the ground.

"Ok you walk from here because I want to explain this area a little bit. I found this when I was a couple years younger with Jack. We used to come up here all the time and just chill out. I would bring my guitar sometimes and just play. Well Jack and I don't really go here anymore, but I just come up here sometimes on my own, just to get away from everything. I figured it would be a good place to bring you. The view is pretty crazy." Alex looks at me excitedly.

We approach the top of the hill and I gasp. In front of me are thousands of lights. Houses, buildings, streets, all lit up.

"It's beautiful." I whisper.

"This isn't even the best part. Waiting for the lights to turn off is the best. After they turn off, you can see a million more stars. It's honestly the most amazing thing." Alex tells me, staring at my face.
We put down the food and drinks and just sit next to each other, staring at each other.

"What are you thinking about.?" I ask him.

"To be honest with you, I'm thinking about how awesome these past few days have been. I don't know how to explain it, but I've never found a girl like you. You are just...amazing." He sighed the last word.

I lean in and kiss Alex. I pull back, realizing what I had just done. He just stares at me and my stomach turns. What if he didn't want that?

"I'm-I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me." I stammer looking down at my hands.

I glance back over at him and a grin splits across his face. He scoops me up and plops me on his lap. I bury my head in his neck.

"Oh no you don't." He laughs and grabs my chin with his hand. He pulls me in for another kiss but this time, I don't pull away. We sit there for a minute, just enjoying each other's lips against each others. He pulls back and rests his forehead against mine. "I've wanted to do that since I first saw you." He murmurs.
I smile and bite my lip. I give him a quick peck and put my face back by his neck. He holds onto me and leans back, so we are lying down on the grass, me on top of him curled up on his chest. Alex smooths my hair and kisses my temple a million times.

"So what now?" I ask him.

"Now? Now we just enjoy the night together." He states.

And that's exactly what we do. We eat and talk for what feels like forever. We talk about our hopes, our dreams, our plans for the future. After about an hour, we stop talking, and just stare at all of the lights.

"So when do they start going out?" I ask Alex.

"It starts in abouttt..." Alex glances at his phone's time. "15 minutes actually."

"Excellent." I say. We sit side by side and finish up our food. We had barely touched it once we started talking.

I lie back and rub my tummy, full as hell. Alex joins me and starts rubbing my tummy for me.

"You dork." I laugh at him. "What are you doing?"

"I don't know. I just like rubbing other peoples stomach's. Ask Jack, he would know." Alex winks at me jokingly.

I laugh and cuddle into him. Nothing has ever felt so right, so safe. I know in that moment, there is no way he could be a rebound. I tilt my head up and kiss him under his chin. He immediately angles his head down so that his lips are about to touch mine. I lean in and meet him halfway. Our lips touch and I put my hand around his head. He rolls me on top of him and we lie there for a few just staring into each other eyes. He wraps his arms around my waist and gives me a peck on my right cheek, then my left, then my forehead, chin, nose, then lips. I giggle and kiss him back.

"What do you even see in me?" I ask him, genuinely confused. "You're Alex freaking Gaskarth. You can have anyone you want and you chose me."

"Are you kidding me?" His face grows serious. "Diana. You're perfect. I'm trying to figure out why you chose me. You're freaking Princess Diana." Alex jokes with me. "But I'm serious. You are perfect. The way you treat me, it isn't like I'm a band guy, or popular, or famous, or whatever. You treat me like just a guy. And your smile, it can light up the whole world. There's nothing in this world I would change about you."
I can't wipe this stupid smile off of my face, so I just kiss him while smiling. "For the record, you're pretty perfect too. You let me be who I want. The way you treat me is like I can be who I want, and you'll care about me no matter what I do." I cuddle up close to him.

He sits up and keeps me in his lap. My back is against his chest and he rests his chin on my shoulder. "Get ready."

We watch in silence as the lights turn out, one by one. After the majority of them turn off, Alex points to the sky. There above us are millions of stars twinkling proudly. I gasp and watch as my eyes grow wide, enchanted. We sit in silence and gaze at the stars above us.

"Diana, I know this is soon but I can't hold it in any longer. Will you please be my girlfriend?" Alex asked me, kissing the side of my neck.

"Of course you goofball." I laugh. "Let's go back to your place though. I just want to chill in your room, we don't have to visit with people."

"Okeydoke." Alex says. We stand up and gather our trash. We walk down the hill and put the trash in the back seat of his car. "I have an idea, but I'm going to need to ask your permission first. Do you mind if we sleep in the same room tonight, but not the same bed?" Alex asks innocently.

I think for a second and decide it's ok. We drive back to his place and struggle to find parking due to all of the cars outside. Alex walks me up the stairs and pauses in front of the door.

"Do you mind if we show we are a couple? It's totally up to you, but honestly I want to show you off." Alex asks me staring down into my eyes.

"Of course not." I smile, getting on my tippy toes to kiss him.

Alex grabs me around the waist and opens the door. Inside are about 30 people with music blasting. He tries
to shuffle us quickly past people but a girl stops us, about 5 steps in.

"Ohmigod Alex! I haven't seen you in forever!" The blond haired girl giggles, clearly drunk.

"Hey Sarah. This is my girlfriend, Diana." He introduces us. "Sarah is an old friend." He doesn't seem to thrilled that she's there.

Before I get to say hi, he shuffles me off, and grabs my waist again, this time tighter. We whisk off into his room before anyone sees us, or so we think.

"I HEARD THAT!" Jack barrels in the room, laughing. "YOU TWO ARE OFFICIAL HAH I CALLED IT." He stumbles out of the room after making a bunch of sloppy kissing sounds.

Alex and I laugh and curl up under the covers on his bed. He kisses the top of my head.

"How long do you want to hang out here?" He asks.

"Honestly, not much longer. I didn't think this place would be that crazy. Had no idea you threw parties like this." I tell him.

"Perfect." He nuzzles my neck and hops out of bed. He runs to his closet and picks a hoodie for me, and digs through his drawers for a pair of sweatpants. "Put these on, I'll be back in a few."

He leaves the room and I quickly put them on. I hop back into his bed, happier than ever. I close my eyes and smile. All of a sudden, a pair of lips are resting on mine and I open my eyes up in surprise. It's Alex, of course, and he has something on the bed next to me.

"What's this?" I ask him curiously.

"A sleeping bag. Jack's actually. I'm gonna grab mine and we are gonna go sleep in your new apartment tonight. Together. IF you want. Otherwise, we can just stay here." He suggests.

I grab the sleeping bed and crawl out of bed. "Let's get the hell out of here." I laugh.

We grab our sleeping bags and sneak out the door. Alex holds my hand and we cross the street. I pull the key out from under one of the rocks and unlock the apartment. It's chilly in there, but feels perfect now that I'm wearing Alex's clothes. We run into the room and set up.

"This is perfect Alex. I swear you are a mind reader. I wanted to spend the night here, but didn't know how really without a bed. I'm such a ditz for not even thinking of it." I smack myself on the forehead.

He grabs my hands and holds them by my sides. "HEY don't get all violent. You could really hurt yourself." Alex jokes with me. "Speaking of which..." He gestures towards my wrist. "Do you mind if I look?"

I lift up my sleeve and take off the bracelets to reveal two cuts. He kisses both of them. And rubs them lightly with his finger tips. A tear rolls down my face and I hug him. Tight.

"I don't know what I would do without you. I don't want to ever lose you." I say into his chest.

"You won't ever have to. I promise." Alex whispers fiercely.

We get into our sleeping bags and get as close to each other as we can.

"Screw this." I laugh and unzip my bag. I unzip his too and get closer to him, lying almost on top of him.

"Perfect." Alex whispers.

We fall asleep, just like that, and I fall asleep knowing that I am safe. Physically, emotionally, and mentally safe. Alex is here for me and always will be. And nothing will ever change that.
