Nightmares
The Basement
Grace's POV
Jack's never been so angry with me. Even Rian was sympathetic towards me with the beating he gave me, before locking me in the basement with a drugged Zack. I've never been down here before, luckily. It's dark and damp, with so many doors leading off I just know I'd get lost.
I wish they had explained to Zack what was going on before they put him under, though. 'Cause now when he wakes up, I'm going to have to. And it will not be fun.
I hear a sound, and turn to Zack, figuring he's finally stirring. However, he's just as unconscious as ever. That sound though, it continues. I get up tenderly, hoping to not alert Jack and Rian.
Following the sound of what I can tell to be human leads me back to a door that's very different from the rest. They are all rotted, with worn and rusty doorknobs while this is newer, fresh. Surprisingly, the door yields open to my touch.
The battered and bruised face of the man I once loved is all I see.
"Gracie?" Alex croaks in a weak voice.
Zack's POV
I finally stir, finding myself in the basement area of Jack's place. I am so fucking confused right now. Grace, she's alive. Here. And, in love with Rian? What the hell? Why do he and Jack live together? Ugh, this is all making my head hurt.
Off in the distance, I hear what sounds like sobbing. Worried, I get up gingerly with the aching that seems to touch my very core, and follow it.
I almost start crying myself when I see the scene in front of me. Gracie, on her knees with her face between her hands, in hysterics. And Alex, beaten to a pulp, looking at her with disbelief.
"What's happened guys? Why is everything like this?"
"Well I didn't want it to happen this way, but I guess now is the best time to explain everything." I hear Jack sigh from behind me, Rian in tow.
