Grace's POV
"Now, you're going to be a good girl and stay quiet and still with me while Jack has his company over, right?"

I nod, knowing better than to respond to Rian. He gives me a quick kiss on my temple, my favorite, before laying down next to me. We lay there for a good while, before I hear music playing that just sets me off.

"Hold me closer tiny dancer...." I let out an anguished scream as Rian clamps his hands over my mouth, in a futile attempt to get me to shut up. It doesn't work, so he just beats my head with his fists until I feel myself give over to the black, again....

Zack's POV
"Shit, sorry Jack." I said, pulling my ringing phone out of my discarded jeans pocket.

"It's alright."

But I can tell it's not, when I hear the sound of a very human and familiar cry coming from somewhere in this house.

"Jack, what was that?"

"Oh, it uh, must have been the heater or something. Don't worry about it, and come cuddle more."

I smile and let it go, eager to lay snuggled in Jack's arms. It's so comforting.
