Oh, Calamity.

I would say that I was actually having an okay first day at my new school. I may have embarrassed myself in front of that Alex kid by falling over but we were able to laugh it off easily and he seemed genuinely interested in being friends which was nice. As for everybody else at the school, they didn’t really take much notice of me at all and that was 100% okay with me. I was never that kid that liked everybody’s attention on him; I just wanted to get through my school days with as little fuss as possible.
Right now chemistry had just finished and Alex was dragging me off to the lunch hall to meet his friends Zack and Rian. I was a little bit nervous that they wouldn’t take to me as well as Alex had but Alez assured me otherwise and kept dragging me forward and I mean literally dragging as he had one of his hands tightly gripping my bag strap to keep me walking and to prevent from losing me in the crowd of people who were also running to meet up with their friends and get lunch.
‘Just remember that Zack is the one that’s so muscly he looks like he’s on steroids and Rain’s the one with the unnaturally white teeth and you’ll be fine’ Alex reassured me as we approached two boys sitting down at a table tucking into whatever the school were serving that lunch time. Alex strolled up casually and sat down next to the muscular one I assumed to be Zack and motioned for me to sit down next to Rian. I cautiously sat down next to Rian as Alex introduced me.
‘Guys, this guy here is Jack. He’s new here and he seems pretty cool despite the fact he likes chemistry’ Alex joked causing me to blush and look down. Seriously what’s so bad about chemistry though?
‘Hey, dude. I’m Zack’ The one sat next to Alex said offering me a smile whilst slapping Alex’s hand away from his food and telling him to get his own.
‘And im Rian’ The one next to me said, flashing his blindingly white teeth at me as he smiled.
‘Fuck, Alex wasn’t kidding about your teeth’ I said unthinkingly before slapping my hand over my mouth as everyone at the table dissolved into laughter at my remark. Thankfully, Rian was laughing instead of being offended. Sometimes I really need to think before I speak.
‘Looks like you are going to fit in here perfectly’ Zack said after regaining his composure. I watched as Alex agreed with a nod and a smile.
‘Yeah, sorry though man. Need to think before I open my mouth’ I said to Rian who was still laughing gently.
‘Don’t worry about it you’re all just jealous of my beautiful teeth and good looks’ He joked, pretending to flick his hair over his shoulder and pout causing us all to dissolve into laughter.
‘Anywayyy’ Alex interjected, dragging out his statement. ‘I’m going to steal Jack and show him around the school for a bit before lunch ends so we will see you losers later.’
‘Oh are you now?’ I joked watching as Alex came up to me and grabbed my bag and began walking away with it.
‘I am indeed’ He smirked, as I walked after him trying to grab my bag only to be stopped with Zack suddenly shouting after us.
‘YO! Guys! Forgot to say that I am having a party at mine on Friday. Yous in?’ He shouted to us.
‘I’m in if Jacks in’ Alex said looking at me with a smile.
‘I guess we are in then!’ I said smiling back.
I think I might have actually made friends.
