Jack

A few hours later, Jack was called to see Alex, without knowing if that meant Alex was alive or not. He ruffled through his hair and tried to wipe away a few leftover tears as he followed the nurse. She led him to the room Alex was in. She opened the door and let Jack in. He was so scared to look, the tension was almost breaking him. What if Alex was dead?

He finally looked up. There he was. His beautiful Alex. Alive. Jack stormed forward to him. Alex was half-sitting, half-lying, a tube in his nose and several IVs hooked to him. He looked so small and fragile in this hospital bed.

“Alex!”

“Hey Jack…” Alex said hoarsely.

“Alex I’m so glad you are alive, oh my god,” Jack gushed.

“Me too,” Alex smiled.

“Can I like hug you?”

“Yeah, but be careful,” Alex said.

“Sure,” Jack promised as he leaned in, carefully wrapping his arms around Alex.

“I missed you,” Jack said, blinking away tears.

“I missed you too… Jack, thank you so much for saving me,” Alex said, tears in his eyes too.

“I’m so happy I was able to! But why didn’t you call 911 yourself?” Jack asked now.

“I left it somewhere in the flat and I wasn’t able to get up anymore after I got on the bed…”

“Oh god, Alex… Do you know what happened?”

“No… I’ve just been told that I was poisoned and that I was very lucky you saved me.”

“But who would do such a thing?” Jack exclaimed in shock.

“I don’t know… Maybe the writer of this hate mail,” Alex said tiredly.

“We’ll figure that out and they’ll pay for it,” Jack replied angrily.

“Violence is no solution… I’m tired,” Alex yawned.

“Sleep! I’ll stay with you,” Jack said, a smile appearing on his face.

“Wanna come in the bed?” Alex offered.

A few minutes later, Alex was curled up against Jack’s chest. Jack was just so happy Alex was still alive. He loved him so much, and one day he would tell him.
