Dark Water
Trigger warning: kidnapping and murder (in a dream).
Alex
That night, Alex had a nightmare. The fear began to sneak into his dreams like black water seeping into clear one. Slowly, but it ended up making all the water dark.
It started with him walking down the street, a bag of oranges in his hands. He was walking slowly and he was pretty relaxed. There were quite a few people on the street. All of a sudden, when he was walking by a side-street, someone grabbed him, quickly shut him up with a big, stinking hand on his mouth and had him in a chokehold.
Alex tried to escape, but all the struggling was for nothing. The man was way stronger than he was. Eventually, he gave up and let the person drag him further into the dark alley. His vision was starting to get fuzzy.
Finally, the man stopped walking. He removed his hand from Alex’s mouth to replace it with a stinking washcloth in Alex’s mouth.
He still held him in the choker, so Alex wasn’t able to see what he was doing, but he suddenly felt something pointed in his back. Probably a knife. Alex used his last powers to try and escape again but the man moved his hand with the knife forwards.
In that moment, Alex woke up, breathless, and he began to cry almost immediately. He tried to be quiet, as to not wake up Jack, but the latter woke up. Sleepily, he realized what was going on.
“Alex, you okay?”
Alex didn’t reply but just sobbed. He was too scared and shocked to reply.
“Alex, may I hug you?” Jack asked softly. Alex nodded.
Jack hugged him very carefully so he wouldn’t scare him. Alex soon got calmer in his arms, and eventually, he fell asleep again. Jack did too after pressing a little kiss to the top of Alex’s head.
“I love you,” he whispered quietly.
