Alex

“Hi,” a familiar voice said. Alex had resisted the urge to look behind the curtain to see who it was when that person had fallen over but now, he was pretty sure. It could only be Jack. But he decided to play along.

“Hey, I’m Alex. Please take a seat. What would you like to tell me?” he said friendlily.

“Um… I’m… My… Oh goddammit Alex you know anyways who I am and I need to talk to you about my feelings and just wow sorry I should probably leave,” Jack said, sounding very distressed.

“No! No, stay here!” Alex replied. “It’s okay. Pretend I don’t know who you are.”

“I don’t know…”

Alex mimicked a really deep voice, “Son, confess your sins.” Jack had to laugh nervously. Alex was very nervous too, he didn’t know what to expect.

“I… God. Okay. So… I’ve kinda been developing some sorts of feelings for you?” Jack tried. Alex felt a giant bubble of happiness be inflated inside of him. But he needed to be careful not to get his hopes up only to have them smashed.

“What kinds of feelings?” Alex asked. His heart was beating hard in his chest. He swallowed hard.

“I- I want to get to know you better and have you hold me and protect me and cuddle and ki-“ Jack abruptly stopped himself.

“Ki-?” Alex asked. He was curious now.

“Ki…nder Egg with me,” Jack said.

“Kinder Egg? What kind of activity is that?” Alex was enjoying this a bit.

“You take a Kinder Egg and then you eat it and you are happy?” Jack suggested but he didn’t even sound sure of it himself.

“Come on, what did you mean to say?” Alex asked softly.

“I… Nothing?”

“Come on. It’s not a problem.”

“No.”

“Was it kissing?” Alex dared to ask.

“I… Yes,” Jack admitted. “I’m so sorry okay you can forget about it and I’ll never annoy you again and I-“ Alex cut him off.

“Shh. What if I want all these things too?” Alex said quietly.

“Oh really?” Jack asked. He sounded super happy.

“Yes. Come over,” Alex suggested.

“But wait. You are not allowed to do this,” Jack reminded Alex. After a short inner struggle, Alex decided to just forget about the rules for once.

“I don’t care. Come here,” he repeated.

There was a bit of scrambling and then they were both in the tiny box. Alex looked Jack deep in the eyes, admiring their beauty. Jack shyly came closer to Alex who was equally shy. He was about to have his first kiss, I mean, a bit of shyness is normal, right? Alex could smell Jack’s aftershave as Jack came closer and closer. His heart was beating so fast and hard, he could have sworn Jack could hear it.

Jack cupped Alex’s face in his hands. He was so close now that it was impossible to see him clearly. Alex closed his eyes as Jack finally closed the last bit of space between them.

Alex felt his lips sparkle when they made contact with Jack’s. It was amazing. It was a sweet, innocent kiss, no tongue or anything, just lips sliding against lips.

“Thank you for the confession,” Jack smiled when they were finished.

“I… Wow. I’m a bit not myself right now,” Alex admitted. Jack had to laugh.

“Don’t worry. Hey, it’s only 5.55, how about we go cuddle for a bit before service?” Jack asked.

“Sure, why not?” Alex replied with a huge smile. He took Jack’s hand and pulled him out of the church in the direction of their home.
