Request (Jack)
Jack
It was a week later. Jack had gotten a few of his things out of the house he and Matt lived in. It had been scary and he had actually got Alex and a cop to accompany him. He was still sleeping in the same bed as Alex and they were still cuddling a lot.
Now, he was sat on the couch with his laptop. It was late at night; he had snuck out of the bedroom to get on his laptop because he had woken up and not been able to fall back asleep. He had been thinking about his feelings towards Alex for the most part which was the reason why he hadn’t fallen asleep. Now he was hoping that the laptop would help him get tired enough to go back to bed. But his thoughts drifted off towards something else. Alex and his feelings for him.
He was still pretty damaged from Matt but he also felt his heart warm every time he thought about Alex. Alex had a special effect on Jack; he felt safe and whole when he was with him. Alex was the reason why Jack hadn’t gone insane over the past few turbulent days of breaking up with Matt.
Jack didn’t know what to do. He wanted to be with Alex but not in a sexual way; he knew it wasn’t possible to do that anyways as long as Alex was a priest and he didn’t even know if what they had was legal.
Alex was his safe haven, his shelter, his refuge in a storm. Alex calmed him down when he was upset or anxious. Alex cared for him; made sure he was alright and helped him if he needed help. Alex was everything Matt had never been.
Jack had an idea. He opened his e-mail program and logged in with the embarrassing e-mail address he had made back in 6th grade. He clicked on “New E-Mail” and started typing.
Dear Alex,
I found your e-mail address in the announcement about you in the church. I would like to request a confession because I need to get some things off my mind. Would tomorrow at 5.30 be alright?

He read through it once more. Then he took a deep breath, hovered over the “Send” button, closed his eyes and clicked it. He breathed out, opened his eyes and waited for the little “pling” sound that it had been sent. It came and he had to smile. He’d go to the confession box and he’d be able to talk to Alex. Now he only had to…
Oh fuck, he had not yet really thought about what he’d say. Crap. He panicked slightly but he was so tired that it went away quickly. He’d be able to think about it the whole day tomorrow, he told himself, shut off his laptop and put it away.
He went back to the room and crawled into the comforting warmth Alex was radiating. He snuggled close to Alex, being the little spoon. In his sleep, Alex draped his arm across Jack and pulled him in closer. Jack smiled and fell asleep quickly now that he had found some sort of solution to his needs.
