Jack
Jack woke up with a start. It was 9 am and he was supposed to be at work. He looked at Alex who was still asleep, hair adorably messy and his lips twisted upwards in a smile. Jack felt the best in the morning he had felt in a very long time and he loved it so much. He felt like his heart was whole. But it sunk at the thought of having to leave.
He put off the blanket and slowly sat up. As always, everything on his body hurt but today, his ribs were really bad. He had a hard time breathing. However, he fought to get up. But suddenly, Alex stirred.
“Jack? What’cha doin’?” Alex lazily asked. Jack froze. Fuck. Alex wasn’t supposed to be awake, Jack had planned on just leaving, preparing a bit of breakfast first though.
But now Alex was awake which fucked up his whole plan.
“Getting up?” he replied.
“Why you leaving me alone?” Alex wanted to know, sounding sad.
“I- I gotta get back,” Jack replied, voice shaky. “And I got work,” he added.
“Call in sick and we’ll have a great day,” Alex mumbled.
“I can’t do that,” Jack replied unbelievingly.
“Sure you can. Just call your boss and tell them you have some problems with your digestion.”
“But-“
“No buts, Jack. You stay with me today and we have tons of comfort food.”
“Matt will rip my head off.”
“These are 'social hours with me and the community'.”
“I guess then… Let’s go. But you promise me to cuddle me a lot?"
"Sure thing," Alex replied with an adorable smile.
Jack managed to call in sick successfully and the both spent the rest of the day on the couch and in bed. It was a nice day, Jack seemed to like it. Fluffy blankets are great. They watched CSI: NY as well as quite a few other shows. Before the service, Jack decided to go over to his place to get something new to dress in. He prayed Matt wouldn’t be home and it was true; he seemed to be outside... Jack was incredibly relieved.
They seemed to be very close as they cuddled a lot but it was all innocent, neither making a move on the other. Jack felt overally good; Alex always managed to calm him down when he was once again panicking about Matt.
It was a very cute day and they also discussed a few things regarding the soon-to-come service. They worked together perfectly, one saying something, the other one adding to it.
