Chapter 4

That night. Nolan was upstairs putting Alice to bed, Jack was over keeping all of us company since Nolan didn't really like Alex. Alex finally talked. "He has a Kid!" He whispered at me from across the kitchen table. i rolled my eyes nodding yes. "Whats her name again?" "Alice Grace Quinn." i said in a hushed voice "But keep your voice down. Sweet Baby Jesus." i laughed. "Sorry. so your like her mom?" Alex asked. "Basically. I've been dating her daddy for over a year now. and she's on 18 months old." i replied, leaning back in the chair. "When did her mom die?" Jack asked. "at her birth." i said quietly. Jack frowned, looking at Alex. "That's horrible." Alex whispered barely audible. "I know." i looked toward the steps. "I love them both so much." "We can tell." Jack looked towards the steps with me. "how sure are you that he stays loyal when you're away?" "I'm not that's the only problem." i replied quietly. "I hope he is, but I'm not sure." "for that little girls sake i hope he is too." Alex pipped in. i looked at I'm. "I agree with you Alex, for once in my life i agree with you." i laughed slightly after saying it. "What's so funny?" Jack asked. "There is no way he is Loyal. he wasn't even loyal back in Sioux Falls!" i laughed even harder. "Why do i even stay with him!" i grabbed his phone off the table. I started to read his text messages. "He's talking up some girl named Gabbi!" "Oh no." Jack shook his head. "Beck I'm sorry." "Becka, he obviously doesn't love you the way you thought." Drew Added, walking into the kitchen. "Drew. you heard everything." Jack asked. "yeah. and he's out of my house. Alice can stay, he cannot." Drew went to walk up stairs. "DREW! i will take care of it. he will be out. not counting that Alice will stay here while their here but you never know." i ran up the step, bringing his phone with me. "Nolan, can i talk to you?" i asked, he was sitting on my bed, reading a book to Alice, who was asleep. he nodded getting up and walking into the hallway. "Whats up Babe?" he went to kiss me, i put a hand on his mouth. "Hun Whats wrong?" he took a step back, i held the phone behind my back. "Why have you been so spacey?" i asked, looking him straight into his eyes. "I'm just tired. Don't worry about it." he shrugged. "Nolan." i held his phone up "Right because Gabbi is so tiring." i glared at him. His jaw dropped as he tried to snatch the phone, i pulled my hand back fast. "Explain now." "Alright. I've been with her since i moved to new york. she at first was just helping me with Alice, but then it all changed, and she is living in my apartment." He admitted, i swung at his face, hitting him the the mouth. "Out of my house, but don't bother taking Alice, since she's already asleep." i growled, he stood there holding his mouth not moving "Pack you're out." i yelled. he jumped walking into the bedroom, grabbing his suitcase and walking down the stair. "I'm picking Alice up tomorrow at 10!" he yelled back up the stairs, walking out of the house. i trudged back down stairs seeing Drew, Alex, and Jack staring at me. "Like hell he'll pick her up at 10." i rolled my eyes sitting down on my chair.as the minutes passed my eyes started to swell up with tears. Drew had gotten up to go check on Indie and Jack was in the bathroom when i finally broke down. "Hey. why are you crying?" Alex asked. i looked up at him. "Because i just lost my best friend." i put my face on the table, starting to bawl. "Okay please stop crying." Alex patted my hand awkwardly "Please?" "What will i do? he was my only tie to North Dakota anymore, beside my parents." i picked my head up, wiping my face "It's unfair Al." "Hey Lex. oh. Awkward. Why are you crying Beck?" Jack walked in stopping at the doorway. "It's nothing Jack, its over now." Alex waved Jack off. "Alright well I'm going home bye guys." Jack walked out of the house. The next morning It was 11 o'clock and Nolan wasn't at the house. i was sitting on the couch with Alex and Alice, waiting for him. Indie walked down stairs, giving us all weird looks. "Why is Lic still here? i thought lan was picking her up at 10." she asked. i shrugged. "So did I Indie." i rolled my eyes. She sat in the recliner next to the couch. "well i have a hockey game tonight, who's coming?" she asked. i looked with an apologetic look. "I completely forgot. I'll go, which means Alex has to go to." i smiled at my younger sister. "Oh great, the married couple gets to go to my game." She rolled her eyes walking to the basement, where Drew most likely was hiding. we sat in silence for a few minutes before my phone buzzed, it was Nolan's mom. "Hey Mrs. Quinn." i answered sweetly. Alex raised his eyebrows. "Hello Rebeckah, have you heard from Nolan at all?" She asked panicked. "Well his daughter is sitting in my lap, and not since around 8 last night." i started to explain what happened last night, and how he left Alice here so she would sleep, and that he was going to pick her up at 10, it was 11:30 now. "Oh no. Beck, i need you to call in a missing persons then, i don't know Baltimore's police number." She hung up on me. "Alex we have to go to the police station. no one has heard from Nolan since 8 last night." i got off the couch going up stairs putting clothes on and dressing Alice in a little dress. i came back downstairs, with Alice in my arms. "Alex, come on." i called, walking out towards my car. Alex ran out after us, climbing into the seat next to me. "This will be interesting." Alex laughed as i pulled out of the drive way.

I looked on your profile, and I'm sad to see this was never continued. And it's sad that it never received any comments either. It wasn't that bad, you kept the plot going, my only complaint was that maybe you kind of skipped a tad and just seemed to rush through your writing... but it was still a good story. I was a bit sad she didn't end up with Alex sooner, though. lol.
I'm hoping you choose to one day maybe write an epilogue to this, if not a full-fledged sequel. It kind of just left off, so I would love to see more of a conclusion to it. But I understand losing inspiration, so, there's that.
But just thought I would leave a comment since there aren't any to let you know that I enjoyed this. :) It's sad that no one else commented, hm. :/
