Be Careful What You Wish For

Chapter 10: A Name is Written

The two young girls run through Jack’s place. One of them is holding a teddy bear, and the other one is holding a stuffed bunny. They sit down in front of him and start to play with the toys. He closes his eyes and rubs his forehead with his thumb and pointer finger. The two ghostly children have not left since they first appeared, and Jack can’t get them to leave. He tried yelling at them, but they don’t seem to hear him. He threw a beer can at them at one point when he got himself piss drunk. It went right through them.
Now Jack knows that they aren’t real. Well, they aren’t in the sense that those two girls don’t exist like that anymore. He knows that the younger one is the girl that he keeps seeing and keeps hearing when she sings. He knows that the eldest one is her older sister. Jack is not quite sure why he is seeing her as well. Although he did see their parents at first as well. What he is seeing are memories of the masked girl. They are just memories, but yet, these innocent and sweet memories are just making his life worse. Who would have thought that good childhood memories would haunt him, quite literally.
Jack sighs. It could be worse...
His ears pick up a mumbling voice.
Oh, come on! Seriously?! Jack is fighting the urge to get himself drunk again. Ugh, why does all of this have to happen to him? It’s absolutely hell, and now it’s gotten worse. Now he’s hearing a mumbled voice. Great. Just great.
The two girls run out of the room, and what comes next is an image of the masked girl. He still can’t see her face, and she’s younger. Jack can’t tell if he’s able to tell from looking at her or if it’s because he just knows. The sister appears and walks up to her, she looks familiar for some reason, but he brushes it off. He’s been seeing her little so much now, so that might be why. The elder sibling says something to the younger, and the younger begins to cry. Her sister wraps her arms around her and tries to comfort her. Then the images transforms, and the two of them are children again. Their stuffed animals are in their hands again, and they begin to run around.
This isn’t the first time that the two children turned into another memory. Just yesterday, the masked girl was closer to her current age, and he saw her sitting alone on her bed. He’s seen two relatives ignoring her as well. Jack has a feeling that that is her current situation. Seeing these memories always make him feel terrible. He didn’t think that it would the first time he did. He doesn’t know her, and he’s probably going through this hell because of her. Yet, a tear still found it’s way down his cheek.
Jack is thinking about getting drunk again. It’s all a bit easier to handle when there is alcohol in his system. He gets up to grab a beer out of the fridge, but then he gets this feeling in his hand. It’s like an itch in a way. Before he knows it, there is a pen in his hand, and there is a name on the closest source of paper. He blinks rapidly at it. What?
Moon Rock.
Did he just write that? He must have because it’s in his terrible handwriting. He picks up the paper and looks at it. This name sounds familiar. He’s not sure where he heard of it before. Huh.
Wait.
Wait just a minute.
This is a name...
A name...
A smile stretches across his face. This is an alias, but it’s still a name. Finally he has something to look up. He runs, almost falling in the process, over to his laptop. He types the name in as fast as possible. That’s not it. That’s not it... Ah, here we go. Jack can tell when he comes across the right page. This... This is it. He clicks on one of the videos and finds a masked girl doing a cover of one of his band’s songs.
He’s found her.

Notes

I put up two chapters this time.
I've been busy with working on my project, getting ready for the next expansion of the game I play, and now I working a bit on another fanfiction in another fandom. I'll try not to take so long with the next chapter since something big happens in it.

I actually didn't plan on showing more of a reason of why she is the way she is, but it ended up getting written somehow. lol. I can see her reasoning for stuff, but she is still a bitch about it all. At least the have the summer together. I just love how Rose was taking lead with that. lol.
I'm currently trying to decide on if I'm going to add one scene or not, and then I should be able to plan out the next chapters better. The next one is easy, but I'll need to watch the pacing if the one scene is added. This week I have to write up the first draft of my short story for my writing class, so I'm probably just going to plan out the chapters this week.
And no problem! I actually find it so interesting to go back to my old stuff. I keep all of my old stories and ideas in case I want to reuse them or just look back. Fan fiction is what got me really back into writing as a sophomore, so no matter what, it's always going to have a place in my heart.

Finally! I was waiting for them to finally meet and now they have! But Selene's aunt is a total bitch. You're right about her now deserving a name. She can't just keep them apart! Ugh. Thank you so much!!!

I actually haven't heard of that game. I've been playing a lot of FFXIV since around October. The early access is on the 16th, so I've been getting ready for that. I'm pretty good on everything though. I have one more job that I'd like to get to max level, but that's about it.
That Town of Salem sounds very interesting though.
And I hate her aunt too. I actually don't even have names for them tbh. Like, they don't need names. People like them don't deserve them.
I might write up the next chapter sometime tonight. I just need to draw up the next fur pictures for my project. This time it's silly cartoons of the four of them, and I'm very tempted to share them before they get colored. The designs are quite silly.

@QueenDes
Would that game be Town of Salem? Just a thoughtfull question. And I seriously hate her aunt right now! Doesn't she know how much suffering she is going through?! Ugh.

Glad you like it! I've been busy lately since the expansion to the game I play is coming out soon, but mostly I really need to work on what I'm making for the band. I'm seeing them at the end of July, so I have to make sure that it's printed and ready by then. I might share what I'm working on with my brother when I get more of it done. :)
Just one more hurdle, so soon. The prologue will actually happen, so keep that in mind. lol.
