And you thought it would be Easy

'Congratulations' the man who just entered the front office turned towards me and stretched out his hand ' you got the job, you are now officially a part of AllAccessCoaches' . I quickly got up from the uncomfortable plastic chair by the window where I had spent the last half hour after my interview to walk over and shake the hand of apparently my soon to be employer. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding and smiled ' thank you so much Eric you will not regret your decision'
Eric put one of his huge hands on my shoulder shaking my hand with his other nearly breaking my fingers in the process.
' Well I hope so, although you are very young for this job at only 22, and ..ehm ..a female, your driving record is flawless and we are in desperate need of some more drivers for Warped Tour we decided to give you a chance, you will start working next week. Call in tomorrow so we can figure out what time you have to be here, what route you will be on and what bus slash band you're gonna drive. In the meantime get ready for nearly two months on the road.'
With that he opened the door and practically shoved me out of the building. I thanked him again and started to walk over to my car still trying to digest the information that I was given and trying to suppress any outburst of silliness in case my future boss was still watching me leave.
Once I was in the car though I started screaming throwing my fist in the air ' YES, I made it' and did a little victory dance in my seat.
I had desperately been looking for a job the past two weeks because my visa for America was running out and I could only get it extended if I had a full time job. Me, being Australian and having just a casual job as an illustrator for a small comic book publishing company it did not look like there was much hope in being able to stay in California for some more.
But now, having secured a full time job, things suddenly looked a lot brighter. I mentally thanked my dad who had pushed me to get a bus driver license as soon as I had turned 18 because he always said 'you never know when this might come in handy' and now it did. I had been driving school buses before but this was something completely different. Warped Tour, wow this was massive.
I drove back to my apartment that I shared with my best friend Stephanie who I met when we worked at Starbucks together. I opened the front door swirling around my bag and letting it slam onto the floor of our small but cosy living room. ' Honey, I'm home' I joked ' bad news, Babe you can't rent out my half of the apartment, I will be staying for some time.' Stephanie came rushing in from the backyard with just a blouse thrown over her Bikini, she had probably been enjoying the sun out in our garden which was actually just a tiny grassy patch.

She was the total opposite of me, her auburn hair fell perfectly around her face reaching down almost to her waist, her makeup was flawless and her nails and feet always polished in the trendy colours.
'No way, Easy' , she squealed calling me by my nickname 'you did NOT get that job?'
"oh yes I did Steph" I squealed back, "look at me, Isabelle Ashford is the designated bus driver for Warped Tour 2011."
She hugged me shaking her head: "those guys must be mental. You're a threat to public transport, I would never let you on the road with one of those monster tour buses, I fear for the wellbeing of my favourite bands" she retorted.
"Bitch please, I got this," I answered pulling a meme face "besides I don't even know who will be on my bus, probably some crew members of some insignificant newly signed band nobody ever heard of, they won't even notice when we end up in some ditch never reaching the venue." I giggled. "This calls for a celebration" I screamed searching our fridge for some alcohol.

Stephanie went back outside screaming to the balcony above us "Mandy, Liz come down we're having a party". We made friends with the two girls living above us since they had moved in a month ago. They were about our age and trying to pursue a career in the film industry earning their living in the meantime with casual jobs.
"Hey, we should invite these guys that moved into the house next door from us, I got to know them yesterday and they seem really nice" Steph suggests.

"Uhm, I don't know Steph, you just only talked to them once they could be weird serial killers for all you know" I wasn't really comfortable with meeting strangers let alone party with them.
"Easy, don't be ridiculous, they are in a band aswell and only stay here before going to LA to record their new album and they are from Australia too, at least I think so, they have a similar accent to you."

"Yeah well, whatever floats your boat mate" I shrug, she seems really excited about it and I don't want to spoil her night. Stephanie was the total party girl and enjoyed all the attention she got because of her looks and her outgoing personality, whereas I was the quieter type and not really making new friends easily.
"okay then I give them a quick call" she says jumping out of her chair in search of her phone.

Of course she already had their phone numbers after speaking to them once. This girl is unbelievable!
