Thanks To You

Jack POV:
He just told me his name, and I didn't say anything. Way to go Jack, at least try to make friends! But I didn't really want to. Whenever I get attached to something, it always seems to leave me. I continued to keep my head down until the bell rang. I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder. “Hey! It’s alright. I’m not going to hurt you.” I glanced up, it was Alex. “Come on, we need to get to our next class.” he said, motioning for me to follow.

As we walked through the hallway I worked up the nerve and tapped on his shoulder. “Sorry I didn't say anything before. I’m just kind of nervous.” I couldn't seem to make eye contact with him, yet my eyes wanted to travel over his body. This boy was hot, seriously hot. His hair looked like honey and was mostly hidden under a dark grey beanie, his eyes were very close to his hair color, just a couple shades darker (from what I had seen the times I gotten the nerve to glance at them), he was wearing a Green Day shirt, black skinny jeans, and grey converse. I snapped back to reality only to realize and hadn't heard what he had just said.

“Sorry, I spaced out, could you repeat that?” I asked, close to a whisper. “I said forget about it, I understand, everything is cool, and I like your shirt.” He smiled at me and it made my knees turn to jelly. “Thanks, I like yours too. Great band.” I replied. His smile grew bigger, “I think you are me are going to get along nicely.” He chuckled then led me into our next class.

Alex POV:
I was kind of shocked he had actually said something to me. I thought that I wasn't going to be able to get him to talk to me all day. When he complemented my shirt I knew he was going to be a cool guy. “Mr. Gaskarth? Mr. Gaskarth?” I was brought out of my own little world and back to math class. “Yes Sir?” I asked. The class laughed. “Please solve problem nine on the board for us.” Great… I thought to myself. I needed to stop thinking about Jack, and also stop staring at him in class. I’m just lucky he hasn't caught me yet, he would think I was a freak.

Even though I thought that to myself, I still did it. Soon it was lunch and I invited Jack to sit with me and my friends. “A-are you sure?” he asked. “Of course! Come on, we wont bite!” I said with a small laugh and lead him over to our table. “Hey guys, this is the new kid, Jack.” I said as I took a seat. “Hey, I’m Zack and this is Rian.” Zack said with a smile. Jack nodded to both of them, giving a small smile before sitting next to me. We talked all through lunch, even got Jack to laugh once. It was a really cute laugh. Stop it… After lunch we went to our next classes and before I knew it the bell rang for us to go home.

“Hey Jack!” I called out as I caught up to him. “Want a ride home? It’s raining outside and a couple kids said that saw you walking so I just thought…” Wow, ramble much? You sound like an idiot. “Uh, sure, if it’s not any trouble.” he said, looking at everything but me. “Not at all.” I smiled at him and took his hand to lead him over to my car. “Just tell me where to go.” I said once we got in.

The trip to his house didn't take very long and I was kind of sad once we got there. “Hey, you live a couple blocks down from me.” I said to him, smiling. He gave me a weak smile, thanked me for the ride, then disappeared inside the house. I sighed, today wasn't such a bad day, I thought to myself as I pulled away from his house.
