Chapter Thirty: Don't Go And Turn The Other Way

Jack and Alex got woken up by the alarm loudly ringing through the room. Jack yawned quietly while Alex groaned. Jack had did his habit of figeting while sleeping and ended up half on Alex, yet again, more saliva on Alex's shirt.

"Why do you do that?" Alex chuckles, noticing the saliva on the side of his t-shirt. Jack shrugs, smiling and stretching. Alex just rolls his eyes, looking over at the time. They had an hour to get ready.

"Thank God it's Friday!" Alex says, screaming silently.

Normally, Jack would be freaking out. Having no school was torture to Jack, even though he hated it. No school mean being abused by his dad. But he soon remembers where he'll return to after school, and that would be in a peaceful home with no abuse.

"Yeah." Jack smiled, watching Alex get out off bed, no doubt watching his ass. He got out himself, feeling the coolness of the room on his legs and arms.

Fuck, my arms and legs! Jack started to panic, looking around the room for his jeans and jacket with panic. His breathing got quicker. He was really panicking now.

"Looking for these?" Alex suddenly asks, holding up Jack's jeans and jumper. Jack gulped, nodding while hiding his arms. Alex walked up to Jack, he held his hand that gripped Jack's clothes.

"Don't you want clean ones?" Alex asks, cocking his eyebrow at Jack as he collects his clothes while shaking.

"I'll be okay, thank y-you." Jack says, not thinking as he quickly pulled his shorts down.

"Keep it PG, Barakat." Alex joked, shaking his head and making his way over to the draws. He kept glancing at Jack with the corner of his eye. A sneak peak won't hurt him. Alex looked over to Jack while his hands were in the draws, he watched Jack take off his t-shirt. He bit down on his lip, not because it was a sexy sight (which it was), but because he could see Jack's rib bones.

I knew he hasn't ate. Dammit, why didn't he eat?

Alex was becoming quite worried. He doesn't want to lose Jack, no way. He quickly pulled out his clothes, leaving them on the draw surface, walking over to Jack. The darker haired boy had just successfully placed his top on when Alex was at his side. Alex straight away hugged Jack, taking him by surprise.

"What's u-up?" Jack asks. Alex could feel Jack's skinny frame, and it made him feel ill.

Truth be told, Jack hasn't ate for four weeks. He ate an apple four days ago, and he didn't even finish that. He was so skinny, that it made Alex want to cry.

"I can't lose you. I've known you for three weeks now, and feel so close to you. I don't want to lose you." Alex's hug became lighter, afraid that he might break Jack's bones.

"You won't." Jack laughs nervously, closing his eyes. If Jack doesn't eat, Alex might just lose him. He needs food. He needs nutrition.

"Jack, eat for me today, please." Alex says with emotion, feeling tears hit the back of his eyes.

"I-I don't know...i-if I can. I can't, Alex." Jack bits his trembling lip as he tries to stop the tears that want to fall.

"Do it for me. Please, Jack. I don't wanna lose you too." Alex's breath hitched, and tears began to flow down slowly.

"I-I can try, I'm not promising a-anything." Jack says, ashamed with himself.

"Take your clothes off and put them back on, because we're not going to school." Alex demands, pointing over to the clothes Jack had took off previously.

"I-I can't, my dad, he'll...The school will phone up. He'll be mad. The-the police." Jack bites his gums violently.

"Fine, but tomorrow we're gonna try something new." Alex starts getting undressed, too confident about tomorrow, that he doesn't even realise. Jack stares at the floor nervously, feeling a little embarrassed and afraid to look up because Alex was getting undressed in the same room. A couple of minutes later, they set off to school.

~~~
They arrived at school, luckily just missing the rain. They walked down the corridor, Alex close to Jack. They were about to go into Art when Zack had stopped them.
"Hey, Alex, remember me?" Zack asks, shaking his hands. Alex stares at him with confusion. Of course he remembers Zack, he's his best friend.
"What the hell, Zack? Of course I remember you, I've been hanging around with you since I was twelve." Alex furrowed his brows, glancing at Jack. He was stood looking at the ground.
"Well, you haven't really spoke to me for two weeks, I wonder why." Zack looks at Jack, glaring at him. Alex feels himself getting a little angry by the fact Zack was gesturing to Jack.
"Well I'm sorry to hear that Zack, but we must be going." Alex smiled sarcastically at Zack, turning around and walking into class. Zack grabbed a hold of Jack's wrist, making him wince and flinch. Zack pulled him so he was right in front of him.
"What is your problem?" Zack spat, gripping harder on Jack's wrist, no doubt making a bruise. Jack stayed quiet, feeling panic rise up his body.
"Well fucking leave him alone, he doesn't want you following him around twenty-four-seven. Stop being so clingy and let his real friends get a chance to talk to him." Zack said through gritted teeth, squeezing Jack's wrist in the most painful way, before letting go and walking off. Jack held his wrist in his hand, knowing it was numb. He held back tears as he walked into class, Alex giving him a worried look straight away.
"What did he do?" Alex asks, turning around to face Jack as he sat down. Jack stayed quiet, looking down at his table. He felt triggered, and he left his 'release' at home. He just drew circles on the table with his finger, trying to get his mind off what Zack had said to him.
But maybe I am being too clingy. Jack kept in a sigh.
Alex pouted over at Jack, desperately wanting to know what had happened. If I find out he hurt Jack, I might end up killing my best friend. He sighed, getting up to get some paper. Jack took this as an opportunity to leave his own mark on his skin. He lifted up his sleeve a little, pressing his nail into his skin. He dragged it down his skin, hard and painfully, but he didn't mind the pain. He did it again before stopping himself because he knew Alex would be on his way back.
When he felt a presence next to him a couple of seconds later, he was happy he stopped just in time. Jack honestly didn't want Alex to see him do that to himself. He holds his wrist, feeling the sting rise. Alex placed a piece of paper in front of Jack, and then placed his own down. They set on to draw, Alex drawing something angry while Jack drew something sad. Both expressing their current mood on paper.
"Alright, you can go!" The teacher called after the bell. Jack and Alex left their drawings on the desk, tucking their chairs in and walking out of class. Jack tried to make his distance, not wanting to be right at Alex side, but Alex slowed down for Jack. Jack sighed quietly, moving away from Alex so there's at least a metre between them. Alex noticed this, biting down on his lip softly.
"Jack?" He calls, looking over at Jack. He shrugs, walking a little faster.
What did I do?
Alex had no idea what was up with Jack. He decided to remind himself to ask when they get to his house.
~~~

The bell went off, signalling it was now lunch, and Alex was starving. He waited for Jack; who took his time to walk up to Alex. He had a sad look on his face, and Alex could see it.

"What's up?" Alex asked when they got out the classroom. Jack shakes his head, sticking his hands in his pockets. Alex knows there's something up.

"Okay, well I'm going to get some food, do you wanna come?" He asks politely, trying to push the fact that Jack is not okay. Jack shakes his head and Alex immediately feels hurt.

"Oh, are you sure?" This isn't like Jack. Jack nods.

"Where will you go?" Alex tried not to sound so nose-y, but it sort of came out sounding like that. Jack points to the library, then sticks his hand back in his pocket.

"Okay, I'll be there when I've ate with my lame friends, I promise." Alex smiled. Jack nodded, making his way to the library. Alex sighed sadly, making his way over to the cafeteria.

The caramel haired boy brought his food, making his way over to the table where his friends are at.

"Hey, " Rian says, patting the seat next to him.

"Haven't seen you in a long time, bro." He comments, making Alex put on a 'poker face'.

"Yeah, well, I've been busy." Alex shrugs, placing his food on the table. Glances were given around the table, Alex not thinking anything of it.

"Look Alex, I don't think you should be hanging around with Jack. There's been rumors." Rian says carefully, placing his drink on the table. Alex sighs, packing his sandwich up and placing it in his bag with the container that held it shut. The group watched Alex pack his stuff into his bag.

"I really don't care, to be honest. Let them spread the shit that they eat." Alex sighed softly, but anger shined clearly through his tone of voice. If they weren't going to accept Jack, then he had no reason to be in their group anymore.

@Twat

oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
