Chapter Twenty-Three: Me Without You

Do you feel like something's missing
When your skin is pressed to mine
I would whisper you a riot if you'd listen
To the sound that you've ignored a thousand times
Cause I am only me, when I'm without you

When Jack walked into Alex's room, his eyes were caught by the massive amount of posters. Jack thought he couldn't like Alex anymore than what he did, but he thought wrong. His feelings keep getting to him, but he tries to ignore them.

"You have so many posters." Jack said in admiration as he looked around the walls, the cat snuggled up to Jack's neck as he did so.

"I guess so." Alex smiled, looking at the posters for a second. Jack turned around and looked at Alex. Alex smiled at him, and Jack returned it. He walked over to Alex, sitting next to him.

"So, PS3?" Alex asked. Jack nodded. He's never been on a PS3, but he's not gonna tell Alex that. He'll be embarrassed like he was with the cat in his hands. The cat moved away from Jack's shoulders and sat in his laps instead. Jack smiled, stroking her head.

Alex watched the way Jack was acting with the cat. He found Jack cute, there was no denying that. Alex broke his eyes from Jack and reached for two controllers. He turned the PS3 on, finding there was already a game in there. It was Skyrim.

"Skyrim isn't a two player, so, Call Of Duty?" Alex asked. Jack has never heard of them games, but he nodded anyway. Alex got off the bed and sorted out the game while Jack continued to pet the cat.

Alex handed Jack a controller, gripping onto his own controller. Jack had to have his elbows on his thighs, holding the controller in the air, afraid he'll annoy the cat if he moved her. Alex was sorting out the game, Jack watching the screen. The screen was showing people with guns and Jack stared at it. When he saw one of the men with a gun move, he realised the game had officially started.

"I haven't played this much, sorry if it's boring." Alex chuckled quietly, pressing random buttons on the controller as his eyes were glued on the screen. Jack looked over to Alex as he spoke, watching the way Alex's facial features change as he hit different buttons. Jack didn't answer Alex, not feeling the need too. Instead, he played around with the buttons, trying to figure out how to work it.

"Here, let me show you." Alex placed his controller down, turning to Jack after noticing his struggle. Jack handed Alex his controller, looking down at it.

"This one's," He pressed down on a button, "is to jump." He instructed. Jack wasn't really paying attention, even though he knew he should. Instead, he was far too busy pondering on the fact that Alex was caring and helping him with something he's struggling with. It honestly made Jack's inside do little twirls.

"So, do you get it?" Alex asked after showing Jack what every button does. Jack nodded slowly, even though he was barely listening.

"T-Thank you." Jack mumbled. Alex smiled, handing Jack the controller. He then looked back to the screen, his belly rumbling. He chuckled, looking down at his belly, and then to Jack.

"Are you hungry?" Alex asked, rubbing his belly. Jack shook his head. Alex frowned, getting up.

"Well I'm gonna get you something anyway. You can follow or you can sit with Tink'" Alex's finger did little swirls.

"I-I don't want to disturb h-her." Jack admitted, looking down at the honey coloured cat. Alex nearly aw'd out loud, but managed to cut himself off with a nod. He walked out his room, walking down the stairs.

Why is Jack so cute? Alex wondered, walking to the kitchen. He got some junk food out the cupboard. Why do I find myself wanting to hug the shit out of him? Alex grabbed two energy drinks from the fridge, wincing as they were freezing against his hands. He quickly placed them on the side, not wanting himself to freeze into an ice cube. Not until he thinks through these 'feelings' for Jack. Why do I always find myself wanting to look a his pretty face? He does have a beautiful face, there's no denying that. Alex sighed, grabbing all the crisp packs and chocolate in his arms, the energy drink resting on top of all the food.

Should I go along with these 'feelings'? What if it ends badly? What if Jack doesn't feel the strange way I do? What if he's as straight as a ruler? I know I'm not completely straight myself. I've found many boys attractive. Alex decided that was enough questions-that-won't-get- answers for today. He began rushing up the stairs, totally un aware of the consequences of the energy drinks. He walked into his room, finding Jack petting the cat. I can tell Tinkerbell already likes Jack, despite her actions when she first saw him. Alex threw the food and energy drinks on the bed next to Jack. He watched as Jack slightly flinched. Alex furrowed his eyebrows, wondering why Jack would do that. He sat down, picking up a energy drink as he did. It was food, he should'nt-

His energy drink exploding disturbed his thought.

"Fuck!" Alex yelled, quickly placing the energy drink on the floor. Energy drink was all over his arms, thighs and top. He groaned, standing up. Jack looked over to Alex after hearing the noise. He bit his lip from laughing at the sight.

"It looks like you pissed yourself." Jack laughed, finding the situation too funny to realise he was talking...as in talking like he used to do. Alex looked down at Jack.

"Ha-ha, very funny, Jack. Very funny." Alex said in a bit too cruel tone. Jack ducked his head, and automatically stopped laughing.

"S-Sorry." Jack apologized, feeling like he's been scolded. Alex realised the hurt tone in Jack's voice and sighed.

"No, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to talk to you like that. And yes, it does look like I've pissed a waterfall," Alex chuckled, trying to bring Jack's mood up. Jack nodded, not wanting to talk again.

"I'm-I'm going to get changed, I'll be right back." Alex informed, taking on last glance at Jack before walking out the door. Jack just sat there, feeling a little bit like shit. He petted Tinkerbell gently, feeling how the fur was so soft. He decided that yeah, cats are the best animal. They're so calm, but can be so fierce.

Minutes went and Alex finally came back, a new black v-neck and some new jeans. He also styled his hair again, not liking the way it was. He brought a towel on the way so he could place it over where the energy drink was. He placed the towel down on the spill and sat back down on his bed.

"She likes you." Alex chuckled, noticing Tinkerbell was still on his laps. Jack nodded, smiling at his new cat-friend.

"I really don't know what to do now. I would normally be playing guitar." Alex hummed, looking around his room, searching for something to do.

"P-Play it." Jack spoke quietly, his head down.

"Okay." Alex nodded, smiling over at his guitar. He grabbed the guitar that was leaning against the wall near the window. He collected one of his many picks from the window ledge, a tight grip to the small object. He made his was to Jack, sitting down with his guitar in his laps, arm dropped over it. He placed the pick in between his index finger and thumb.

"Um, seeing that you like Blink, I'll play 'Man Overboard'." Alex spoke, the pick lightly glancing over the guitar strings. Jack nodded, excited by the fact Alex was gonna play his favorite band's song.

"Okay, I'm gonna try singing so it sounds worth listening to, but if you laugh, I'll take Tinkerbell from you." Alex laughed over his plucking and strumming the intro.

" Let's take some time to talk this over You're out of line and rarely sober We can't depend on your excuses 'Cause in the end it's fucking useless..."

Jack's head snapped up at the soft, well tamed voice that sounds like one of God's angels. Jack's eyes focused on Alex's lips. The sound coming out of them was the best Jack's ever heard. (A/N: >:) ) Alex sang the lyrics so greatly, not to mention that he was like a pro at guitar. Jack sat there, staring at Alex's eyes as they looked down at his guitar. He could listen to this all day.

After Alex had finished the song, he blushed at Jack's shocked face.

"How d-did. How did you l-learn to get a voice like t-that? Oh my God." Jack gasped, Alex chuckling at his cute, shocked look. He shrugged, looking down, his cheeks tinted pink. Jack really liked the look of Alex's blush, the way his dimples show perfectly. Alex looked up, finding Jack staring at him. When Jack noticed Alex had looked up, he pulled his head down, stroking the cat's fur. Tinkerbell purred, moving herself all over Jack's laps.

"You're jeans are gonna be covered in fur." Alex chuckled, placing his guitar against the bed next to him.

"It's alright." Jack shrugged, now playing with his fingers. Alex looked outside his window, seeing it was getting kinda late. He poured his attention back to Jack.

"When do you have to be home?" Alex asks Jack. Jack froze. He had forgotten about telling his parents where he was. He's gonna be in so much trouble when he gets home.

"U-Uh, right n-now." Jack spoke quietly, moving Tinkerbell off him and placing her to the side. And yeah, he was covered in cat hair. He didn't really bother about that though, too worried about arriving home, but he knew he had to.

"Oh," Alex tried to hide the sadness in his voice, instead letting a little cough out to hide it. Jack stood up, not wanting to be rude by rubbing his jeans and getting cat hair on the floor, even though he was positive there was more cat hair on the floor than on his jeans.

"I'll walk you to the door." Alex smiled over at Jack. He nodded, walking out of Alex's room, the caramel haired boy following behind. Walking down the stairs, Alex kept glancing at Jack's ass. But when he caught himself looking, he shook his head, looking at the walls beside him.

Jack opened the front door when he got to it, turning around to look at Alex. He looked at the ground awkwardly, feeling the cold air reach through his jumper and attack his skin.

"T-Thank you for, uh, thank you for i-inviting me over." Jack stuttered, not daring to look up. He's so mannered when he doesn't need to be, oh my god, that's so fricking cute, Alex awed his head.

"No need to thank me, you're welcome here whenever you want." Alex grinned, leaning against the doorframe.

"T-Thank you." Jack said quietly, then realising he thanked Alex again when he had told him he didn't have to. Alex chuckled lightly.

"I-uh, I better go." Jack said, a bit of panic in his voice. Alex caught on to it, raising an eyebrow.

"Are you okay, Jack? You sound panicked." Alex asks, trying not to be so nose-y. He had the right to ask, though. He needed to ask, because Jack's anxious voice made Alex a little concerned.

"Yeah." Jack said as comfortably as possible, letting the lie fill in the air for a second.

"Bye, Alex." He smiled down at the ground before walking away.

"Bye, Jack."

@Twat

oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
