Dangerous

Chapter Nineteen: Anxiety

Faster, I dream in speeds of ashes
My heart it beats and crashes
I'm running from the truth
Cause it fucks with my mind

Alex and Jack walked into the school, Jack's head down, Alex anxiously looking around. Alex was looking behind him, beside him and in front. He was looking out for Max and Jason. He knew with one hundred percent that they were on about him. He didn't like to think of himself as a wimp, but he was terrified of getting beaten up. He knew what they were half capable of. It never ended well. He never regretted beating Jason up. Jason deserved it. But he hated going over the top with it. He couldn't control himself though. Something was controlling him. All the pleasure from beating someone was amazing. He felt like he could do it more often. So, why was he scared? He was quite sure he'd love to fight Max and Jason back. The thing that scared him was not being able to fight back. Maybe they would hold him back tightly, stopping him from thrashing out. That's what Alex was terrified of.

Alex and Jack finally arrived at their homeroom, walking in, Alex looking around nervously. He didn't make eye contact with anyone who was looking, but he was looking around the homeroom, looking at the same faces. Not many people were here, so not many people looked at Alex and Jack while they walked in, and that's what they hoped would happen. Jack sat in his normal seat; in front of Alex's. Alex turned his chair around so it faced Jack's desk. Alex sat down with a shaky breath.

"I'm slightly scared." Alex admitted, playing with his hoodie, biting down on his lip. Jack furrowed, really want to ask why, but he knows he's in school. He's invisible in school. Well, that's what he wants to be. For fuck sake, just ask! His thoughts shouted at him. He thought it was Aldemar, but Aldemar half a more deep tone to his voice.

"Why?" Jack asked, barely whispering. Alex looked around his homeroom, still alerted by every movement someone makes- from flicking their pen, to turning around to a friend. He then brought his attention back on Jack who had his hands neatly folded in front of him. Alex mimicked the actions, trying to relax and get rid of his anxiety.

"About Max and Jason. I knew what they're going to do." Alex says, slouched back into his chair, looking down at his jeans. He knew he wouldn't be able to hear Jack's laughter and words saying how much of a wuss he is. No, Jack wouldn't say that. He reminded himself, sitting back up fully, his head moving forward to listen out for Jack. Alex still hated it how Jack was really quiet in school, never saying a word. It was like he was scared to talk. Alex shouldn't really complain, not like he is, it's what makes Jack, Jack.

"T-they won't hurt you." Jack said quietly, already fearing somebody heard him. He began seeing images on the table that was covered by his head shadow. Images of people laughing at his stupid accented voice. They laugh at the way he talk, how he talks. They laugh because he's talking. Talking doesn't help, it spills you're personal life in a split second. Talking is bad. Very, very bad. Too much talking leads to bad things. You say the wrong words, the wrong words that lead you to the bad things. Aldemar taught Jack that. It was also in Jack's instinct. He knew talking would lead to a bad thing somewhere in his life. Look at how close he's grown towards Alex. It could only possibly end badly. It has to. It will.

"How can you be so sure?" The images from the table and the thoughts faded away from Alex's voice. Maybe that's why Jack isn't afraid to talk to Alex. Alex's voice helps fade away the images of nerves, anxiety and paranoia. Alex is therapy. He has to be.

"I-I'm not." Jack admitted, shuffling in his seat. Alex sank lower and lower into his seat.

"Exactly, they'll get me." Alex sighed, sitting up, more air to enter his lungs. He needs to calm down. He needs to forget. But how?

"No they won't." Jack says confidently. He knows there's a bubble stopping any harm to them. That bubble is the bubble Aldemar left while he's 'off for a year'. Aldemar has been in Jack's head a lot today. He's happy Aldemar went on a 'vacation', otherwise, he wouldn't of got this close to Alex.

"How do you know they won't?" Alex asks, Jack's words don't seem convincing to his nervous state.

"I'm not." Jack repeated, still whispering. Alex furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

"That's what you said last time. How do I know that they're not coming to get me. How do you know that they're not going to beat me up? How do I know you're just saying it to relax me?" Alex asks quietly, not wanting to draw attention from the class. Jack took a deep breath.

"You'll have to trust me." Jack says quietly, drawing patterns in the table.

"And how do I do that?" Alex asks, watching Jack's fingers drawing small patterns in the white table.

"Stay with me. Forever and after."

@Twat

oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
