Chapter Fourteen: Freaking Me Out

Think you’re real, but you’re fake
Think you’re deep, but you’re shallow
You’ve become, what you hate
Now you’re lost, just a shadow
So we pull your strings
Cause it makes no sense
That you act like you’re better
You can say these things
To your so-called friends
And they just might think you’re clever

The next day, Alex was woken up by his alarm. He groaned, honestly not wanting to get out of bed. The alarm kept going off, telling Alex he needs to hurry up or he'll miss the bus. He groaned again, mumbling random words as he opened his eyes. His eyes took some adjusting to the room that was filled with sun rise. He squinted his eyes, trying to read the time.

"Oh Fuck!" Alex whisper-shouted, reading the time displayed on the alarm. He quickly got out of bed, not bothering to lay the quilts out nicely-not like he does that anyway. He speed-walked to his drawer, opening it and searching quickly for his clothes. Once he found a New Found Glory top and some jeans, he quickly got dressed in his room. He then rushed of to the bathroom outside his room, brushing his teeth to get rid of the horrible morning breath. He then brushed his hair, walking into his room and grabbing the straighter.

"Thank God." Alex breathed out, running a little to the bus-stop. His smile got bigger as he saw no other than Jack stood there, head down.

"Hey, Jack." Alex said, panting a little as he got beside Jack. He had to literally run around the house. His mum didn't help much, either.

"Hey." Jack said quietly, happy that Alex had arrived. He thought Alex wasn't going to go to school today because normally he's the one first at the bus stop. He continued staring down at the ground, paying attention to the little bug that had injured itself. Jack pouted at it, feeling bad for the bug. Anyone would've thought he was more crazy if they found out he was feeling sad about a bug that had been hurt. He was brought out his ball of sympathy when the bus rolled up.

"Sitting next to me?" Alex asked Jack, walking up to the bus after a nod from Jack was confirmed. Alex smiled, showing the same evil-looking bus driver their pass. They made their way to the two seats that were near the back of the bus. Alex knew Max and his stupid mates will be around where they were sitting, but he couldn't help that these two seat were the only ones left. Well, there were other seats, but there were no over two seats that were close together, free. Jack just managed to sit down next to Alex when the bus began to move. Jack instantly placed his bag over his laps like always, fiddling with it. Alex was happy that Jack actually talked to him today, but he knew Jack won't say a word in school. Alex guessed that Jack didn't want people to here his voice, but that wasn't the truth. Jack didn't want people to know anything about him. Not a single thing.

The bus journey was quiet, well, except from all the other kids chatting among themselves. There was no comments thrown at them by Max and his friends, so all is good for them.

They stepped out the bus to be hit with the fresh, cold morning breeze. They both hated the cold, you could tell by the way they were instantly shivering and moaning and complaining in their heads about how much they hated the cold. Jack wrapped his hands under his hooded sleeve, his head further down.

"It wasn't this cold when we were at the bus stop." Alex complained, walking a little faster. Jack nodded at what Alex had said and continued to walk up the school's path.

When Jack and Alex finally got inside school, they sighed out in relief and dread. The relief for finally getting out the cold. Dread because they're actually in school. They headed to their home room, Alex seeing all the same faces, and Jack feeling all the same eyes on him. Jack had no idea why they stared at him when he arrived, he guessed that's what happens when everyone steps in form. Jack shuffled to the sit behind Alex's, swaying his bag over his laps. He hated how he couldn't trust anything of his to be left by itself. He placed his hands on his bag, fiddling with his fingers and scratching his knuckles. He soon stopped scratching his knuckles though, remembering he's in school were people can see. He sighed quietly, not wanting to bring attention.

Jack felt Alex's chair swing around to face him.

"I'm bored," Alex whined, setting his elbows on the table, propping his head into his hands that now rested along his cheeks. Jack let out a very quiet, light laugh at Alex's whine, finding it sort of cute. Alex smiled after successfully hearing the little laugh that came out of Jack's mouth. Alex was happy that he had made Jack laugh because he has never seen the boy laugh at school, and it just made him feel, well, like he was helping with something. Which Alex was helping, a lot. Jack always gets triggered at school and finds it hard to get through the day without scratching his knuckles. So to have that little bit of happiness to distract him from scratching violently at his skin was a relief.

A couple of more minutes later, the bell had rang throughout the school telling everyone lessons have began. Jack slouched into his seat, arriving just on time. He doesn't know why he keeps arriving nearly late to every lesson. He guessed he was a slow walker.

"Get into pairs, you'll be creating a huge poster based on the French industry." The teacher called out to the students. Most of them weren't even listening and were just pissing around. Others like Jack and Alex were actually listening to what the kind substitute teacher was saying. The teacher sighed, grabbing a load of spare A3 paper to hand out. Once she got to Jack, she smiled. She was happy because Jack didn't interrupt her like every other teenager in here did.

"You alright?" She asked, noticing the way Jack's head was timidly down, looking at the table. Jack was a little shock when a teacher asked that. She was the first ever 'teacher' that had asked Jack that question, and Jack hated how he wouldn't reply. He nodded though, hoping that she understood he didn't like talking.

"Don't talk to him, miss, he'll give you diseases." Jason smirked, making the room go the tiniest bit quiet.

"If he had diseases, he wouldn't be at school. I'm quite sure he doesn't sleep around and uses his mouth like you do." She spat back, feeling bad for Jack. She knew she couldn't say that, and that she could lose money, but she wanted to stick up for the poor boy.

"Are you saying that I'm a man-whore and that I'm gay?" Jason laughed bitterly. Jack could even feel Jason's breath run down his spine, even if he's all the way across the room.

"No, she was on about your mum." Jack heard Alex speak up. Jack's eyes went wide in shock, his heart began to beat louder. Alex has never spoke to anyone in that manner before. To be honest, Alex was actually proud of himself. He just stuck for Jack and the kind teacher.

"Oh really, Gaskarth, you wanna talk about dead people? Talk about your brother." Jason snapped, chuckling evilly. Jack felt like he was going to have a panic attack, even though the comments weren't directly at him. He felt guilty because he thought he should of been the one getting all the mean comments, not Alex.

Alex froze, he could no longer hear any chatter around the room. He felt like time had stopped and left him in panic by himself. He felt tears pickle his eyes. Jack didn't know Alex had a brother, he didn't even know he sadly died as well. That caused some kind of sadness grow and run up and down his body. He wondered how Alex was feeling, because if he were Alex, he wouldn't even know what to do. Jack felt like he had to say something, but physically couldn't get himself to do it. While he's in school, he likes to try to remain invisible as possible. But he felt like he had to get Alex out of here. Jack looked to the side of him, finding a red dress. He looked at the dress a little longer, confirming to himself that that was the teacher. She won't judge him, surely. Jack bit his lip, looking now at the teachers arm. He snaked his hand from his bag and poked the teacher. He didn't get a response first because she most likely was glaring at Jason. So Jack poked again, this time with just a little force.

"What's up, sweety?" She asked kindly, breaking her gaze from Jason. Jack bit his lip, pointing to Alex. The teacher looked confusedly at Alex who had his head. She didn't know Alex was hurt a lot by them comments, but Jack could sense it.

"Hm?" She asked, confused as to why Jack was pointing at Alex. Jack sighed, taking a deep breath.

"C-can I-I take Alex out the c-class?" Jack whispered. The teacher stood there, wondering why Jack was whispering this to her and not just asking. She shrugged it off, believing it was best for him to leave because the drama that had just happened.

"Sure." She smiled to herself, then turning to Jason who was leant back on his chair, talking to his class'mates' like nothing happened. She walked over to him, instantly becoming angry at him for saying such words.

"But the fag was on about my dead mother, I'll fucking get him." Jack heard Jason hiss. Jack shivered, getting up, slowly and nervously walking over to Alex.

"No you won't. Don't you even dare touch that boy!" Miss hissed back at Jason. Alex didn't even know Jason's mum was dead. He didn't even know he could even talk like that. After he promised himself not to ever say such mean words to anyone, despite the problem. But there he was, sticking up for Jack. Talking about Jason's dead mother. He felt so...so alive. He felt like he could do that more and more and more.

"A-Alex, let's go outside." Alex was torn out his thoughts by Jack whispering. He was surprised by Jack even whispering in school. Alex shook his head.

"Nope, because you know what?" Alex smirked, starting to stand up from his seat. Jack stepped back a little, thrown off a bit by Alex's tone in his voice. Jack shook his head, feeling like he was being somewhat pushed into the floor.

"I'm going to make that dickhead and anyone out there pay for what they did to you. No one, and I repeat no one should treat you like the way they have been doing. No one. " Before Jack could even gather all the words Alex said, Alex was already walking over to Jason, pushing anyone that got in his way. Once he got up to Jason, his new self began.

@Twat

oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
