Holding On To Keep This Strong
Come Clean
Alex paced his apartment unsure of what to do. He hadn't heard a thing from Jack after he dropped him off that morning. It was nearing afternoon and the more time passed the more worry consumed him.
He knew that Jack was safe there but it didn't mean that the younger boy was okay. He would still be hurting and confused, he'd still be completely out if his normal self. And knowing that made Alex just want to go to the hospital to see him even more, but he couldn't.
The teacher flipped his cell phone in his hand, unsure of what to do with it. He wanted to call someone he needed to talk. But talking about what had happened to Jack, he didn't think he could do that. So he set his phone down on the coffee table. Which ended up being a pointless action as his phone began ringing.
"Hello?" He said quickly, having scrambled to pick up his phone.
"H-hey Alex." It was Jack, which put much of his worry aside, but not all of it.
"Hey kitten...are you feeling any better?"
"No, but they're letting me go in about half an hour, said they're waiting for one more test to get back."
"That's good...did they find anything so far?"
"Uh, yeah...Lex can we not talk about it, please?"
"Yeah, thats fine. What do you want to talk about?"
"I don't know, I just wanted to hear your voice." Alex could hear the slight smile in Jack's voice at that which only made him want to hold the younger close.
"Then I guess I'll just have to keep talking won't I?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
-
"I can't go in there." Jack said to his mother staring his house down from where he sat in the car.
"We can check into a hotel then, I'll go get some clothes from inside."
"I don't want to be alone either." He sighed.
"Well what do you want to do then?"
"I...I-" he cut himself off not sure of what to say. He just wanted to go to Alex's apartment, he had clothes there and it was probably the only place he'd really feel safe in right now. But as far as telling his mother about their relationship, he wasn't sure of that at the moment. But then again today could've very well been the best time for them to tell her. She couldn't tell, she couldn't get angry with Jack not after what had happened. This was probably the best under the worst circumstances possible. "I want to go to my boyfriend's place."

Okay I normally cringe at student/teacher fics, but cuz it's a 6 year age difference, I gave it a shot. This story is so great! The ending is beautiful. My eyes are watering. Not even kidding.
