Holding On To Keep This Strong

Gestures

Jack opened his eyes automatically sensing just how wrong everything was. The way his body felt, the pounding head ache. The fact that he was laying naked in his parents bedroom. He moved to sit up the task feeling impossible with just how hurt he ralized he was. He at least tried to look around the dimly lit room, no one in sight though he could hear someone moving around downstairs.

"Fuck." He mumbled finally getting some recollection of the past few hours, images of...no, that couldn't have been right. He looked around the room a bit more, that was really the only explanation. But he didn't want to believe it. He refused to.

But he knew he was right.

Jack did his best to stand up and make his way to his bedroom as quietly as possible, pushing through the pain that came with each step.

The teen shut his door and locked it behind him, only wanting to shower but standing up any longer just wasn't appealing. He limped towards his dresser sloppily picking out an outfit and pulling it on. All he knew was that he couldn't stay here, not if what he thought was true. He couldn't.

So he called the person he trusted most, nearly in tears by the time the older boy picked up.

"Jack? Are you okay?" Alex sounded on the other line having heard Jack's heavy breathing on the other end.

"N-no...can you come get me?"

"Where are you?"

"My house...I...just please hurry." He said as clearly as he could through his sobs.

"Im on my way. Don't worry baby I'll be there soon."

"Wait...don't ring the bell or anything okay? Just let me come outside."

"Okay. Do you want me to stay on the phone with you."

"P-please?"

"Whatever you need Jay."

They stayed on the phone the entire short car ride that Alex took to Jack's house. The teen trying to calm his sobs and Alex doing his best to sooth him with only his words.

Jack did his best to move as quickly as possible down the stairs and to the front door. It hurt and knowing the he was still there...well it scared him.

He was just opening the front door when he caught a glimpse of exactly who he didn't want to see in the living room. Then he knew, he hadn't imagined it, he couldn't stay here.

"Jack where are you going?" He called walking towards the teen.

"D-don't move. Do not come near me." Jack sputtered out, pressing his cell phone closer to his ear.

"Jack, are you okay? I'm coming in, alright."

"No...stay there. I'll be there okay. Stay." He said to Alex, he already knew better than to let Billie Joe and Alex anywhere near each other.

"Who've you got on the phone?" Billie asked as he took another step closer.

"Stop! Stop moving!" Jack shouted. "Do not fucking touch me."

"Okay." Billie said putting his hands up defensively.

"That's it Jack, I'm coming to get you." Alex said on the other end of the phone. And though he wanted to beg Alex not to he knew he couldn't talk him out of it. That and the elder was probably his only hope of getting Billie Joe away from him.

Not a moment later and there was a knock on the door.

"Fine, go. You know you'll have to come home eventually though." Billie said, smirking at the teen.

Jack didn't know how to respond to that so he simply opened the door and stepped out of the house to stand next to Alex. Who on instinct wrapped an arm protectevly around the younger boy's shoulders.

-
Almost fifteen minutes later and they were sat in Alex's car in his buildings garage.

"Jay, you haven't said a thing since I got you, what's going on?"

"I-I...he...I..." Jack choked out quickly being reduced to tears.

"Jack...did he hurt you?"

The teen nodded turning away from Alex, letting the tears fall freely onto his face.

"Did he hit you...?" Alex asked though it was obvious that he knew that wasn't the case. And when Jack shook his head he was at a lack of words too.

It was nearly a full five minutes later before Alex could even open his mouth again just to simply close it again.

"What do you want to do, Jay?"

"I...I don't know what to do."

"Well if you want to press charges y-"

"That would crush my mom..."

"You can't just go back there knowing what he did and that he's still there though. I can't let you go back there if you do that."

Jack sighed and finally turned to fase Alex. "What do I have to do?"

-
Soon after and Alex was dropping Jack off at the hospital.

"I don't want to go in there alone." Jack said, obviously beginning to cry again.

"You know I wish I could go in there with you. They'll have to call your mom though. She'll show up. You can have someone else come in the meantime."

Jack shook his head. "I don't wanna tell anyone else what happened." He sighed. "Can I at least have a kiss before I go?"

Alex frowned and shook his head. "God...Jack your body is kind of evidence and a crime scene right now. You know I want to, I just can't."

Jack nodded though Alex's words weren't meant to sting they did. It just further reiterated what happened, which Jack was still rather foggy on. So he opened the car door, hearing a muffled "I love you" as he shut it.
-
Jack lay in his hospital bed, unable to get comfortable. He just wanted to go to Alex's and let the older boy hold him and tell him everything would be okay. That's all he wanted but he couldn't have it. He knew there was no way he was going to be able to get out of the house to go to Alex's later either. Not after his mother had arrived and the nurses explained what had happened. But then again she still had no idea who had attacked him.

"Jay...I brought you some food." His mother said walking back in from the cafeteria.

"Im not hungry."

"But they took a lot of blood honey you need to eat." She sighed as she sat in the chair next to Jack's bed, setting the tray down on the small bedside table. "I'm so sorry I stayed out last night...I should've stayed home, what kind of sick person can do something like this?"

"Mom..." Jack looked towards her biting his lip trying to hold back tears. "I know who did it...and...I know...I know it's gonna hurt you. He was the only person at the house though and I stayed at home all night...I..."

"Jack what are you saying?"

"I..."

"Are you trying to say that my husband did this?" She nearly shouted becoming irate.

"Mom, stop. I know it was him okay...he gave me a beer last night and I barely remember anything after that...I-I just, he was...he was touching me...and-"

"That's enough." She turned from her son before standing up. "I'm...I'll be back in a few minutes sweetheart."

"Wait...are you mad at me?"

"No, you're just talking out of your head sweetie, you need rest." She reached out brushing Jack's hair out of his forehead.

"You don't believe me?"

"No, it's not that honey...I just...lemme step out for a minute okay." She stalked off before Jack could protest.

Not that it really mattered, he could easily hear her standing right outside the door muttering for someone to pick up into her phone.

"Don't you 'hey sweetie!' Me Billie Joe. Do you mind explaining to me why my son...my son...he's saying you raped him?" She nearly shouted only lowering her voice for the r - word and Jack was sure the entire floor could hear her. "Do not give me that bullshit! I loved you, what the hell Billie?" She paused for a long while. "Okay, well you better pray to god that we have no evidence against you... Yeah, that's right. We're at the hospital right now, I swear if there is even a strand of your hair on him! I want you out of my house. I do not want to see you there when we get home, got it?" There was another long pause before his mother spoke again. "I don't care what the hell you have to say. I would pick my son over any man who happened to crawl his sorry ass into my heart any day. Goodbye Billie."

Jack looked towards the door of which his mother was now opening. He knew like could get bad but he didn't think he'd ever see a low like this. And all he thought could make it better was a certain person who could end up being Billie Joe's future cell mate if he said anything about him.

Nobody ever said there would be days like this.

Notes

Holy shit, I have been writing so much today. I'm gonna cry for Jack though. Why did I do this???

Okay I normally cringe at student/teacher fics, but cuz it's a 6 year age difference, I gave it a shot. This story is so great! The ending is beautiful. My eyes are watering. Not even kidding.
