"Hello?" Alex crowned into his phone, unsure of what time it was but knowing it had to be too early if Jack was still asleep, cuddled into him.

"Lex! Gosh, it's been too long since I heard your voice."

"Kyle?"

"Mhm hmm. Listen, I'm driving up to your place right now, I'll be there in like forty five minutes, oh and Austin is coming up later tonight, we're staying at a hotel so maybe if you and Jack don't have any plans you can come ou for drinks, yeah?"

Alex nodded forgetting that Kyle couldn't see him, still barely awake.

"Alex?" Kyle said a few moments later.

"Oh yeah...that's fine. What're you coming up here for anyway?"

"I missed you and Austin's sister is getting married and her wedding is up there. Thought I'd surprise you."

"Oh, okay." Alex said through a yawn. "Can I go back to sleep now?"

"Yeah, yeah. Be awake when I get there."

"No promises. You know where the spare key is if you need it."

"Okay, bye sleepy head."

"Bye." Alex mumbled to his phone before chucking it to the foot of the bed relying on Kyle to hang up.

Nearly an hour later Alex was awoken once again, this time from Jack stirring next to him.

"Jay, are you up?" Alex whispered just loud enough to grab Jack's barely alert senses.

The teen grunted in response and hugged Alex's arm into his chest.

"You've gotta get up babe. Kyle's gonna be here soon."

Though Alex was pretty sure Kyle had already made it seeing as there was shuffling coming from the living room.

"No, don't wanna get up."

"Come on. Get up."

"No."

"Fine, but I've gotta get up."

"No," Jack whined, finally opening his eyes and looking at Alex. "Stay and cuddle."

"Later, alright angel?"

"Yeah, okay."

"Good." Alex mumbled as he pressed a kiss to Jack's forehead.

Half an hour later and Alex had left the apartment with Kyle, Jack staying behind for obvious reasons and homework. Though Alex wished he could have come, even though all they were doing was going to the store. Picking up a wedding gift to be exact.

"So...How're things with Jack?" Kyle prodded, turning to look at Alex while they sat through a red light.

"Good...we just got over a pretty big fight. I think we're okay now though."

"Mhm...and what about Oli?"

"Nothing to tell. He says he still loves me, we're fake dating...I don't know."

"So he's fine with you and Jack?"

"As far as I know. Why are you grilling me anyway? I bet you've got plenty to tell yourself."

"Yeah I do. But I wanted to see how things were going with you first."

"Thanks for the thought but everything is fine, I guarantee it. So want to tell me how you are now?"

"Okay, Austin is the most perfect guy ever, he's so sweet. -- If things don't work out with you and Jack meet someone at a book store. -- anyways after this semester we're going up to do a rescue mission in all these rual areas and I'm super excited. And we might even room together next year, that'd be so great living with my boyfriend the last year of school..." Kyle babbled for awhile, Alex nodding, laughing whenever Kyle said anything that honestly only made sense to someone involved in a blossoming romance. "Anyways that's enough about me and him." Kyle said with a smile. "You still haven't told me how things at the school are going, with other teachers and stuff."

"It's good...I've got a surprise for you about that later though."

"A surprise about your job?...I think I'm good."

Alex shrugged before speaking a few moments later. "I think you'll be happy about it...my supervisor on the other hand he wasn't so happy about it."

"Hm, you can surprise me later then."

"I guess I will."

...

Jack fumbled around with his phone, nearly dropping it before clicking on the answer icon and pressing it to his ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jacky, how are you?"

"Hey Mom, I'm good. How're you?"

"Im great sweetie. I've got a surprise for you."

Jack almost wanted to sigh at that, there had been enough surprises today and Alex hinting at things all day. He'd rather save himself the misery of surprises for at least a few more hours. "Really? What is it?" He asked, feigning excitement.

"We're coming home tomorrow!"

"Really? Wow..." This time Jack actually did sigh. It wasn't like he didn't miss his mom, no, it was just that it meant he'd have to go home. Which he really didn't want to do, but his parents couldn't stay out of town forever.

"What's wrong sweetie?"

"Oh, nothing Mom...I'm really excited, I'll make sure to clean the house up tonight then."

"Okay." His mother replied, smile evident in her voice which just made Jack feel even worse. "Well I'll let you get to it. I love you Jacky."

"Love you too Mom."

Alex followed Kyle into the shop, literally dying inside. He loved Kyle, he really did, but sometimes he just wished the other boy came with a muzzle.

"Don't you just love this stuff? I can't wait until I get married and move in with someone and we'll decorate our place together...it just seems so nice y'know."

"Yeah. I know."

"Is something wrong?"

"No...just...nothing." Alex said with a weak smile.

"No, it's not just nothing. What is it?"

"I know he's gonna have to leave my apartment soon, in like a month, but I still don't want him to go...I don't think it'll really be home without him."

"Aw, that's so sweet Lex. I'll honestly be so shocked if you two don't work out...you're oddly perfect for each other. Meant to be almost."

Alex just chuckled at his friend and said nothing more, just leading Kyle towards the kitchen sets.
