Let the Floods Cross

t w o

Liezel turned the lock with her keys, opening the front door cautiously as she heard aggressive voices inside the house. She raised an eyebrow as she gently closed the door behind her with a duffel bag flung over her shoulder.

She is here due to the request of Alex and Jack. While she was at tennis practice with her coach, Alex sent her a text message, asking her to meet him at Jack’s house. Since Alex gave his set of Jack’s spare keys to her, Liezel can use it to enter his house anytime. The set of keys was given to her since she needed his washing machines to do laundry at his house.

The tennis player entered the living room in confusion because a female voice, most likely Dale Levine’s, is screaming at someone. Liezel thought she might be screaming at Jack for whatever absurd antics he’s pulled on her this time around, but when she entered the living room, she seems to be in a heated ranting session about something that is obviously bothering her.

Dale Levine is a supermodel for the infamous Lockheart Empire and is also the girlfriend of her buddy Jack. They are the most unlikely pair to ever exist, but it somehow worked for them so Liezel did not say anything about it. She often question about the dynamics of how their relationship works, feeling immense concern for Jack.

“… and she is so obnoxious. Like her hair is so frizzy and dried up, I saw split ends okay? Like I’m not even exaggerating! The hair stylists always spend so long to try to make her hair look remotely presentable. What the hell is Loki thinking?” Dale shouted, throwing her hands up in the air

Jack and Alex are both seated beside each other on the couch, clearly amused at whatever the supermodel is going on about. Liezel cautiously entered the living room and waved at the guys. The two pairs of eyes landed on her, prompting for the ranting brunette to finish her rant. She stopped in midsentence and turned to look at her. The distressed face managed a smile.

“Hey Beckett!” Jack shouted.

“My sexy girlfriend has arrived!” Alex got up from his seat and walked over to her.

He reached for her duffel bag and walked over to the laundry room with it; his action left Liezel staring after him in confusion. Alex usually left her to do the laundry in the house and always in Jack’s house. Ever since her return two nights before, Alex has been extra productive around her. He has been trying hard to reduce her workload. It’s never happened before.

Shaking her head in her daze, she returned her attention to Jack and Dale. The brunette model smiled at her and said her greetings.

“Anyways, what’s wrong?” Liezel decided to ask Dale, praying she won’t regret it.

Jack shot her a look that told her otherwise. Biting her lips at her wrong decision, the dark haired woman braced herself for the worse. Dale shifted her position on the couch and watched as Beckett took a seat beside Jack.

“So Loki is the worst CEO ever, I’m not even joking. Do you know what he did?”

“Uh, what did he do?” Liezel asked nervously as Alex returned from the laundry room.

He sat down on her other side, wrapping an arm around her. She acknowledged him briefly since she wanted Dale to see that she is paying very close attention to her speech. Even though she is not here to impress her friend’s girlfriend, she didn’t want to seem indifferent to her problems.

“He chose freaking Zoe Jarova to headline the Lockheart’s fall fashion show! Like what the hell is he thinking? I always headline the fashion shows! Occasionally Wallace would, but he didn’t even consider Wallace Poulsen to headline! He has this stupid thing called morality and fairness. The idiot thinks that he shouldn’t play favoritism when it comes to models and he wants every single model in the agency to shine or some shit like that.”

After the tragic murder of Conrad Lockheart, his second son and oldest remaining one took over the business as planned. Loki Lockheart’s older brother, Raphael died in a tragic car crash over two years ago while Dale was the driver. Lockheart Empire did change with Loki as CEO. It seems like this industry is more open-minded since Loki sat behind the boss’ desk.

Dale did not like it one bit.

“Honey, you’ve headlined ten million of those things, let this Zoe chick live out her dream.” Jack replied with an amused smile on his face.

He probably will regret his comment.

“You know what?” Dale got up from her seat on the couch, reaching over the coffee table to get her designer purse.

Liezel turned to Alex for explanation but he only shrugged at her. No one really understands the way Dale’s brain worked. Sometimes she is the shallowest person in the world who only thinks for her self-interest, but other times she would show concern for the good of the whole—sometimes. This time, however, she believes that stopping Zoe Jarova from headlining the show will benefit the good of the whole. Liezel knows that Dale just wants the top spot.

“Where are you going, babe?” Jack asked.

“I am going to Loki’s office to give him a piece of my mind.” Dale grumbled angrily as she started toward the door.

Jack held a hand up to halt her movements.

“Hey, make sure that a piece of your mind is all you’re giving him!” He called out to her.

Dale turned to him with a salute before walking out of his front door.

“And not a piece of your sexy ass, because that’s all mine!”

Liezel rolled her eyes at the comment. It is such a classic Jack. He speaks of her as if she is property, and not an actual person. It makes Liezel question his feelings towards her, and vice versa.

“What is that all about, you jealous boyfriend?” Liezel turned to Jack for explanation.

The hyperactive guitarist scratched at the blonde streak in his messy hair and beamed at her.

“She slept with Loki.”

Liezel gaped at him.

“And you are speaking of this so casually because…?”

“Because we weren’t really dating at the time and she has no feelings for him.”

The tennis player turned to look at Alex, reaching for his dark brown hair. Her fingers stroked several strands of it gently as their eyes landed on each other. He grinned at her and leaned over to kiss her gently on her forehead. Liezel, however, is still in the mood to discuss Jack’s love life.

“So how serious are you guys?” She asked.

Jack stared at her suspiciously for a few seconds before replying.

“Serious enough to date her; I love that woman.” Jack said.

“Did she ever meet your parents?”

Liezel recalled Alex mentioning how Jack invited the model to eat dinner with his family. She was shocked that Jack would pull this move as he had never done it with his previous flings. It just meant that Jack felt serious about this girl.

“No, the plan was canceled.”

“And why is that?”

“Because I was arrested the night before, don’t you remember?”

“Ah.” Liezel nodded.

Their friend and homicide cop, Detective Kovacs, arrested Jack because he was the first suspect for the murder of Conrad Lockheart. He was released the second day after evidence was discovered in his defense. It was an experience Jack did not take too seriously after it had happened.

“Have you met her parents yet?” She continued with her interrogation.

Jack and Alex shared a mutually confused look, both wondering why Liezel is showing sudden interest in his love life.

“Um, no, she never talks about her parents. It seems like it is something she refuses to speak about.” Jack replied anyways.

Liezel nodded in understanding. She briefly did some online research on Dale Levine since she still doesn’t completely trust her around Jack. During her research, she found out that her parents are indeed out of the picture, but for what reason she has no idea.

“It seems like you don’t know enough about her!”

Alex nudged her slightly as a warning for her to stop talking, but she already started asking Jack about his love life and she is not stopping now. Despite Alex’s physical protest, she pressed on.

“It’s a work in progress.”

“Jack, are you sure you are dating the right woman?” Liezel asked curiously.

Alex released his grip on her.

“Liezel!” Alex scolded.

Jack gaped at her as a response.

“Beckett, what’s the problem? Are you jealous? You want me for yourself, don’t ya? Geez, why are you dating this fool then?” Jack said humorously as he gestured toward Alex.

His best friend chuckled at his attempt.

“Nah, my girl ain’t hitting on you, bro.” Alex wrapped an arm protectively around her.

Jack stuck his tongue out at him.

“No, Jack, I’m just concerned for you. You seem serious about this girl and I don’t want you to get hurt.” Liezel began honestly.

The guitarist smiled at her and shot her a look of reassurance. He appreciates her concern for him, but she is definitely taking the wrong approach in this situation. Besides, she doesn’t really know Dale.

“I’m a big boy now, Beckett, I think I can handle myself.” Jack slapped his chest to emphasize his point.

Liezel rolled her eyes as she finally let the subject drop.

“Yo, what was that all about?” Alex asked as soon as the pair walked into their shared loft.

Liezel dropped the duffel bag onto the floor as she bend down to pull her sneakers off. She picked herself back up and turned to her boyfriend. He stood against the door, staring at her in question. She bit her lips, shrugging.

“I do not trust that girl.” She replied casually.

Alex walked over to his girlfriend and wrapped both arms around her waist. She pressed their foreheads together as her lips lightly brushed against his. He complied, returning the notion by lengthening the kiss. Her lips moved away slightly but he chased after her, and reconnected their lips several times. She mumbled delightfully in their kiss and wrapped an arm around him.

After a few moments, Liezel finally broke apart. She glanced up at her rock star boyfriend and smiled cheekily at him.

“Don’t worry about them; all you need to do is worry about us.” Alex said as he leaned over to peck her lips again.

Liezel reached down to unzip her sports jacket, letting it fall carelessly to the floor as she revealed a mesh tank top underneath. Alex eyed her upper body in interest as she turned from him.

“Where are you going?” He called out after her.

“I’m taking a shower. The practice sesh was intense.”

Alex followed after her, entering the bathroom without waiting for her reaction.

“Let’s save water and make your shower a party for two.” Alex offered as he wrapped both arms around her waist.

He looked up from her waist to stare at their reflections in the bathroom mirror. Liezel’s back is facing him and everything about her body against his felt right. She smiled at his reflection in the mirror and all he can do is return it.

Alex’s hands reached to the hem of her tank top, slowly granting permission to pull it off. Laughing, Liezel raised both of her arms up in the air and allowed him to take off the clothing item in ease. He sighed when he noticed that she is wearing a sports bra, but still took the time to admire her body shape. She is definitely fit for tennis.

The two stripped off all the clothing on their bodies and walked into the shower together. Liezel reached over to turn on the hot water, allowing for the showerhead to cascade water down on them. When she turned to face Alex, she is immediately pressed against the tiled walls. A moan escaped her lips as Alex went for her neck. His teeth gnawed at her wet skin while his hands roamed adventurously around her body.

The hot water helped Liezel’s body temperature heat up during this moment, but she didn’t need the water to raise her body temperature. Alex is already making her feel the heat in their moment of passion. As his teeth bit at the spot in her neck, she let out a loud gasp as her head tilted backward against the wall. Her eyes closed slowly and she wrapped a leg around his bare waist.

After Alex was done biting at her neck, he tilted her head towards him and aggressively pressed his lips to hers. His tongue slid inside her mouth only to be met with hers. Liezel allowed her other leg to go around him while he lifted her up. Their tongues danced around each other inside her mouth, and Liezel’s fingers naturally found its way to the singer’s wet hair. Her fingers got tangled up in the strands of his hair as he pulled his tongue out of her mouth.

Smiling at her, he kissed her lips again.

“Are you in the mood for hot shower sex?” Alex whispered against her lips.

Liezel stared at him in disbelief.

“When I invited you to the shower with me, I didn’t just want to shower with you.”

Alex laughed at her and noticed how she does not hesitate to state what she wants. She has never been afraid to admit that she wants to get sexual with him. If she wanted to have sex with him, she makes it fairly obvious. He loved that about her, how she wasn’t shy about wanting it. She is assertive and he loved his women assertive.

“Good point.” Alex mumbled.

Liezel stared at him impatiently as he stood in front of her under the water motionlessly. He laughed at her and her sexual aggression. Being away from home might have helped the hormonal level to increase. By the time she gets home from her tennis tours, she is all ready and in dire need of sex. It is definitely to Alex’s advantage, but it seems like sometimes she wants it more than he does.

Even if that is the case, he understands and won’t ever judge her for it. He loves her so much that every little quirk and every little edge of desire she harnesses for him becomes all aspects of what he enjoys out of her.

“Are we going to fuck or what?” Liezel growled impatiently.

Alex kissed her again.

“Good lovemaking takes patience and time.”

“Oh shut up.” Liezel mumbled as she aggressively turned Alex over against the wall.

He chuckled as his back hit the tiles.

“Wow, you’re hot.” Alex whispered as she bent down away from his view.

Her aggression is definitely to his advantage.
