Love, lust and left over chicken
5 years is a long time (Part 1)
It's been 6 months since Alex left and I have to say, I was doing really well. Mum wasn't drinking and we had moved to a small 2 bedroom flat to get away from Dad. I still haven't told the plice about what he did to me, I can't bring myself to do that.
Everyday at school has been horrible though, everything reminds me of Alex, if it wasn't for Hannah and Lauren, I would've gone crazy.
I was awake too early, as usual. But I haven't been sleeping properly recently, due to everything I've been through. I've been having some terrible nightmares.
I got out of bed and started making bacon and egg of toast for me and mum.
"Why are you up so early, Sasha?" Mum yawned
"I just need to take my mind off of things" I replied
"Look, I know you miss Alex, but you'll have to get over it, it was just a crush" She said sternly
"But mum, I loved him, I can't just forget about him. Anyway, he said that when we're 18 he'll come back for me!" I whined
"You're 13, you would've forgotten about eachother by the time you're both 18" She said
"No we wont!" I cried "We promised eachother!"
"Oh yeah? What else did you promise eacother then?" She asked, sarcastically
"I promised him that one day, I'd call the police about dad!" I blurted out. Shit, I hope she didn't hear that.
"What did dad do?" She whispered anxiously
"He... He raped me, and hit me." I whispered back, barely able to get the words out. She just stared at me in shock, then walked over to the phone and dialed 999.
"You're keeping that promise" She said, handing me the phone. I told them everything, and they told me not to go to school so that they could come round and interveiw me and mum. I have to say, I was proud for telling them. I just wished Alex was here to see this.
When the police got here, they made me sit doen and explain everything in detail, I cried alot, and while I was explaining, mum ran to the bathroom a few times to be sick. I could see that it ws hurting her more than it was hurting me.
When the police left, they said they would arrest Dad and there would be a trial in a few months, which I'd have to attend. That wouldn't be fun.
3 months later
The trial
It was horrible, I had to sit in a glass box and explain everything that he did to me in detail, while he sat there and smirked, like she wasn't even ashamed of what he did. He was sentenced to 35 years life with no parole. I was releived that he couldn't hurt me again. I just wish Alex was here.
Today I went back to school after having 2 weeks off to recover from the trial. I had told Lauren and Hannah what I was off, and now they'd be expecting me to tell them what happened.
"So Sasha, how'd it go?" Lauren asked, warily
"He got 35 years life with no parole" I said with a faint smile appearing on my face, just knowing that he was rotting away in a jail cell made me happy. They both hugged me.
"That's great!" They choursed. This is the happiest I've been since Alex left, I really miss him, but it's only 4 year until I get to see him again.
1 year later
Nothing important has really happened to me this past year, I'm 15 now, mum's alcahol free, me Lauren and Hannah are closer than ever and it's only 3 more years until I get to see Alex again. You're probably thinking it's all going great for me, but you're wrong. I've been in and out of hospital 4 times for attempted suicide and self harm. I've been put of anti depressants and I go to therapy 3 times a week. The worst part is, no one even knows what's cause my depression, the doctors think its my past catching up with me, I just think it's because I miss Alex so much, as stupid as that may sound. It's all so hard to tell.
Lauren and Hannah have been doing all they can to help me, and I think without them here, I'd be worse off than I am now.
"Sasha? Sasha, stop daydreaming, you're scaring me" Hannah said, she seemed to get really scared when I daydream, she thinks I'm always planing ways to kill myself.
"You know how much you scare us when you daydream" Lauren added
"Look guys, I know you're scared that I'll do something stupid again and I appreciate the fact that you care, but I'm not always planning ways to kill myself." We all winced at the last part.
"We know, we just don't want to loose our bestfriend" Hannah said
"We love you too much" Lauren whispered.
"Awh, I love you both too" I said pulling them into a hug. The bell rang then and we all went our separate ways to class.
Tao's P.O.V
I've been watching her for days now. I think I love her but she's still in love with Alex even though he's been gone for well over a year. And all I ever hear her talking about is seeing Alex in 3 years.
I love her and she loves Alex. That sucks.
I've talked to Lauren about it, she said to tell Sasha how I feel. I don't think it'll go well. But I'm going to tell her tonight, I have it all planned out.
Sasha's P.O.V
I've recently noticed him watching me, he's quite cute, but is he my type? I don't know. But I want to keep my promise to Alex about seeing other people, Tao might just be the right one for that.
Oh shit, he's walking over, what do I do? What if he asks me on a date? What do I say?
"Hey Sash" She said, confidently
"Sasha" I corrected.
"Oh, sorry, so you okay?" He asked
"Uh yeah, I guess" I replied
"So Sasha, I was talking to Lauren the other day and-" I cut him off
"She didn't call me depressed, did she?" I was worried now.
"Well no," he said, confused "But Sasha, Lauren told me I should ask you something"
"Go ahead" I encouraged
"Will you go on a date with me?" Oh wow. What do I say? Could I do this to Alex? I think I'll give it a try.
"Yeah, sure." I said with a smile
"Cool" He said, pering up a bit
"So when?" I asked
"Saturday? we could go to the cinema if you want" This was perfect.
"Okay"
"Which way do you walk home?" He asked
"That way" I replied, pointing left.
"Same, can I walk with you?"
"Yeah, sure" This was great, I finally have a date! He offered me his hand to hold and I took it. We walked the rest of the way home in a comfortable silence. It turns out he lives in the sme block of flats as me. Weird.
Saturday
I woke up at 8, Tao was coming to get me at 1, so I still had 5 hours to get ready. Firsts things first, I needed breakfast, I looked in the cereal cupboard and pulled out the coco pops. I poured myself a bowl and ate it. When I was done with that I got in the shower and washe my hair twice so it would smell of my favourite strawberry shampoo. I got out and towel dried my hair and let it fall into t's natrual curls. The outfit I chose was my clack skinny jeans, white paramore T shirt, purple hoodie and purple and black converse boots.
By now it was 12:45 and I was hungry so I decided to have an orange.
Knock knock knock
That must be Tao, I was getting nervous now.
"Hey Sasha!" He said with a smile
"Hey Tao, you ready to go?"
"Yeah, come on, we're watching monsters inc 3D"
"Cool, I can't wait" He offered me his hand again and I took it.
We arrived at the cinema, he brought the tickets and I brought the popcorn. We got in just as the movie was starting. He put his arm around me and I snuggled closer to his chest. This was perfect.
When the film was over, we went to the nearby park, which was empty. We sat at the top of the slide and talked about anything and everything. When we ran out of things to say he kissed me. The butterflies in my tummy we're going wild. This is the happiest I've been in ages.
Shortly after our kiss, 2 of Tao's friends spot him and come running over.
"So, is this you're girlfriend?" One of them asked
"No" Tao replied. They kapt on teasing him for another 5 minutes before leaving. When they were gone Tao put his arms around me and said
"Be my girlfriend"
"Yes" I replied and he kissed me again.
3 months later.
Well, what can I say? My life was going perfec at the moment and I wouldn't change it for the world.
"YO YO YO" Hannah and Lauren shouted as me and Tao walked into school.
"Guys, doing that doesn't make you cool" I laughed
"Init bruv" Tao added, making us all laugh.
I couldn't help but think about how it was only 2 years and 1 month until I can see Alex again, I guess I still love him.
"So... what you doing for your 16th Sasha?" Hannah asked
"SHE'S GOING TO HAVE BIRTHDAY SEX WITH TAO!" Lauren shouted, I swear she was always hyper.
"No Lauren," I said sternly "I don't know, Hannah, I haven't planned anything yet."
"Good" Hannah said "We're throwing you a party"
"You're the bestest friends ever" I said pulling them both into a hug. This would be my first party.
The party
"Guys this is amazing" I shouted over the music
"We know" Lauren shouted, she was a little drunk.
"We're glad you like it" Hannah said. I swear we were the only sober ones.
"Sasha, I think you should see this" Lauren said seriously.
I looked over in the direction Lauren was looking, what was that? Tao was kissing another girl! I stormed over to where he and the girl were sat.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" I screamed and slapped him across the face.
"Sasha!" He said, shocked "You weren't supposed to see!"
"No, I didn't think I was" I replied, sarcastically.
"Sasha, I'm sorry, I-" I cut him off.
"Shut up, It's over, she can have you, now please leave and don't come back." I said. He got up and left. At least I could enjoy the rest of my night without him here.
"Sasha, I have something to tell you" Hannah confessed
"Go ahead" I smiled.
"Well, a few days ago I got an email frm Alex saying he's in a band and he goes on tour in the UK next summer, He told me not to tell you this until your birthday, it his birthday present for you. Sasha, all 3 of us get to see Alex and his band All Time Low"
