For Baltimore (Part Two)

Delilah~~

"It's so beautiful!" My mother exclaimed. I smiled and a faint blush covered my cheeks.

"My daughter's getting married!" She continued. It was fair to say that she was freaking out; out of happiness of course.

"Mom! Why don't you calm down, and tell the rest of family?" I suggested. She nodded.

"Who should I call first!?" She asked as she picked up her phone.

"Anyone you want." I said with a smile. She nodded and dialed a number, and I watched intently as she pressed the speaker phone button so I could hear.

"Hello?" I heard the voice of my aunt ask.

"Brenda!" My mom shrieked to get sister.

"What?" She asked.

"Guess what happened!" My mom said.

"What happened?" She asked, sounding a little irritated.

"Delilah's engaged!" She announced happily.

"Oh my God! Really!?" Brenda asked.

"Really!" My mom said. I smiled.

"About time that Daulton boy got the nerves to ask her." She said; and my smile faltered, as did my mom's.

"No no... Brenda, they broke up." she said.

"When?"

"A while ago." I admitted.

"Was that you, Delilah?" She asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Well, who are you engaged to then?" She asked.

"Alex Gaskarth.." I said, waiting for her to ask who that was.

"Oh! Lainey loves the band that man is in! Wait till I tell her!" Brenda said.

"Well, I'll come visit after tour is over, and I'll bring Alex with me." I said.

"Alright dear. Take care." And the line went dead.

"Well mom, I have to go play a show in about... twenty minutes. Love you." I said.

"I love you too! Take care!" I closed my laptop lid and stood just as Alex entered the lounge.

"I heard my name." He said.

"Oh. I just told my aunt that we're engaged. We're going up visit after tour." I said, and Alex nodded.

"Any family members I should be aware of?" Alex asked.

"My cousin Lainey. Apparently she likes your band." I said. Alex nodded and kissed me gently.

"Let's go play some shows." He said.

~~ April 3rd

Tour ended two days ago, and we landed in California; where Alex and I would be staying with my mom for a week while visiting family.

I was now showing, and Alex always took the opportunity to put his hand on my belly everyday. Not that it bothered me. I found it adorable.

"Let's go you two! We're gonna be late!" My mom said.

"We were waiting on you, mom." I said with a smile.

"Oh right! Let's go!" She ushered. Alex and I stood up and followed her outside and we all got in her car.

It took about ten minutes to get to my aunt's house, and when we did, Alex looked little nervous. We got out of the car, and I fixed my black dress before grabbing Alex's hand tightly. He smiled and seemed to relax, so we followed my mom up to the door; which she knocked on.

The door was opened by my sixteen year old cousin. Her red hair fell over her face, and she was wearing black skinny jeans and some band shirt to match. I smiled as she let us in, and we all followed her into the living room. There was lot of people. Not lying. Alex's grip on my hand tightened, and I looked at him. He pulled on the neck of his Blink-182 shirt with his free hand. Everyone was silent and I didn't like it.

"Well guys... this is Alex Gaskarth, my fiance." I said. Lainey looked up, moving her hair out of her face. Her eyes widened and I smiled the tiniest bit. She hadn't seen Alex at the door?

"No way." She muttered. I looked at Alex, who was grinning like a fool.

"Way." I replied, receiving a kiss from Alex. Lainey squealed and covered her mouth with her hands.

"So, let the introductions begin?" I asked. Everybody started talking amongst themselves, so I walked over to Lainey, Alex still clutched to my hand. She led us over to the couch and the three of us sat down.

"Alright.. to be honest.. Alex you've saved my life." Lainey said. I looked at her, wide-eyed. She rolled up her left sleeve and showed it to us. I looked at Alex and his eyes hardened.

"I'm glad to hear that, Lainey. Please don't harm yourself ever again. No future family member of mine should hurt themselves." Alex said sadly, like he was recalling a memory.

"Alex.. is there something you haven't told me?" I asked as Lainey rolled her sleeve back down.

"Yeah.. but it can wait. I don't want to upset you right now.. especially now." He said. I nodded and leaned on him. Immediately, his hand retreated to my stomach and I smiled. Every time I leaned on him like this, that's where his hand went.

"You guys are so cute together." Lainey pouted.

"Thank you." I said.

"Wait.. you're not pregnant, are you?" She asked, and I blushed.

"Yeah.. I am." I said.

"Congratulations!!!" She squealed, catching everyone's attention. I groaned, and soon they all returned to their conversations. This was going to be a long night.

Notes

Eh yeah. Happy Valentine's day, I guess. Today was torture. I watched the guy I like not only give his girlfriend a gift, but I watched them be all cute together. Not fair. Valentine's day always sucks for me. I've never had a Valentine before, and in in high school.
