For Baltimore (Part Two)

Delilah~~

You know what sucks? When you watch the person you love walk out of your life like they wanted to. I can only imagine how Sam must be feeling, and even my imagination can't be as bad as how it really is.

"Get up, Samantha!" Mitch yelled from the lounge. I looked at him, his features grim and pissed off. He's been acting weird lately.

"Be fucking easy on her, will you?" I asked as I glared at him. He only returned my glare and continued to type away on his phone. It's only been two days since everything went down, but it seemed like just an hour ago. Alex walked in the bus and waited for me by the door.

"I'll be with you in a minute, Lex. I need to talk to Sam." I said. He nodded and retreated outside. I stood up and made my way to her bunk, and I pulled the curtains open. She was laying there, tears streaming down her cheeks, makeup smeared and swollen eyes. She looked at me and wiped her face with the black sleeve of her jacket.

"You alright, Samantha? I haven't talked to you in a few hours." I said. She only shook her head.

"He meant everything to me, and now he's gone." She whispered.

"He may be gone, but you'll find true love one day, I promise. He'll find you, it might just take some time." I said. She met my gaze and a small smile spread across her lips before faltering.

"You always know what to say, and I love you for that." She said.

"That's what best friends are for, so, let's get up and take a shower, yeah? I promise you'll feel better after a warm shower." I said. She nodded and I helped her up. She walked away into the bathroom and I met Alex outside.

"Is she alright?" He asked.

"Heartbroken, but fine." I said.He nodded and pressed his lips to mine sweetly.

"Let's go. I promised Jack we'd meet him and Zack, Rian, and Cassadee at the coffee shop down the street." Alex said. I smiled and grabbed his hand.

We walked down the city's busy street, talking, holding hands, and Alex occasionally putting his hand on my belly, just to confirm that what we had was real and not a dream. I wasn't showing, however, but it was nice to know that the baby was there.

We arrived at the small coffee shop, and looked around inside for a minute before my eyes landed on that familiar skunk hair. Alex dragged me over and we placed ourselves next to Rian and Cassadee, across from Jack and Zack.

"Took you long enough. Anyway, can we order something?" Jack asked. We all responded with agreement, and Jack called a waitress over.

"What would you guys like to order?" She asked in a bored, dull tone, almost like she despised her job. Hell, I would if I worked at this little shop.

"Just a mocha for me, please." I said. Everyone else said their orders and she walked away, not even glancing at us.

"Uhm.. excuse me?" A quiet voice asked. I looked at the source of the voice, and saw a girl no older than thirteen.

"Hi." I said.

"C-Can you sign this for me? I love all of you.." She said. I smiled and took the CD case from her and quickly signed it with the sharpie she had handed more.

"We love you too. What's your name, sweetheart?" Cassadee asked as she went to sign it.

"Christie." She replied.

"Christie.. what a beautiful name. Here." She said, handing the CD off to Zack who took it and quickly signed it, handing it off to Jack. After he signed it, he handed it back to Christie and she smiled.

"Thanks!" She said happily. I smiled at her.

"No problem." Rian said. She waved and left.

Our drinks came about five minutes later, and we all sat and talked about nonsense for awhile. It felt nice to just sit and talk instead of being busy all the time.
